Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Erm I would imagine he would have been spotted and if he was in England I'm sure the club would have send something by now. Because as most people on here think it's done, and if Pogba was in England then what are we waiting for?

Why wait? Cause he's not signed his contract. He's not taken a medical. You seriously underestimate all the pieces that go into this. A deal as big as this means everyone will want a piece of the announcement - Adidas particularly.

It's not even 1pm - still plenty of time. Regardless, we won't announce before the game but I think there's a fair chance he'll be in the UK already.

I'm not denying what you are saying. My point is to people that keep banging on about it being done. Well it obviously isn't yet...

And as another poster has said, in my opinion if he goes back to training that isn't a great sign at all. Simple.
Pogba going back to training doesn't mean anything is off. This wouldn't be the first time such has happen and people have already provided with many example of players reporting for training while an imminent departure was in sight.

The truth of the matter here is that Juventus have failed to simply said Pogba is staying which alone is a sign telling he is a goner.

I'll join the "it's odd crowd" if this isn't wrapped up by 7pm on Monday, but I'll still be extremely confident it's going to happen.

I expect we'll hear so much noise after the community shield, much like we did with Mourinho after the FA Cup final.

That's my point but people just make fun of you if you say anything reasonable. If this was at the stage Di Marzio and Sky sports UK are reporting it to be, there is no way Pogba would return to Juve training.
Look mate the journo's have a rough idea that this transfer is done they've know clue when it's gonna be announced or when Pogba's gonna come for medical etc they just spout bs. Your completely with in your right to wonder what's going on I'm in the same boat I don't think it's "as close" as certain people think I mean the way Di Marzio and others where getting on was like he was going to be a United player by today and look still no closer. However I do think we will sign him eventually I just don't think anyone knows exactly when could be any day next week.

What was Allegri supposed to say? "Pogba will leave the club and doesn't have to report in for training tomorrow." Is that what people were expecting? Even if it was a done deal behind closed doors, Allegri won't confirm anything until either club makes the deal official. Standard procedure I would have thought, one most people should be familiar with.

But no one has agreed for a deal for Schweiny. People bleating on here that it's done, well if it is why go training...

Simple mate. I was only highlighting the fact that a player returning for training means diddly-squat. Bale was always Madrid-bound. Berbatov was always coming to United. Loads of deals occur on deadline day. Do you really think that managers / executives wake up and say, "Hey! I have to sign a player today. Hmmm... I like X. Let's bid, close it, do all the paperwork and announce it on the same day"?

Deals take time and big ones like this one take a load of time. There's no way people want to make it totally public (obvious reasons) and it would hurt all parties if the player was asked to be in limbo while it's sorted. So, till it's all done, the player has to go and train with the club he's contracted to at that point in time. It's as simple as that!

Oh come on. Half the time you're as ('blindly') optimistic as anyone and then the other half you're relentlessly negative. I don't even know yet if you've been joking the entire time but either way you've acted positively schizophrenic in this thread for weeks now. So it's a little rich to be crying about how people jump on you if you supposedly dare question certain facts or accepted narrative.

Take your logic elsewhere, heathen!

Getting the feeling if pogba signs a new contract with Juventus posters here will be saying this means nothing its how these things work the deal is fine he will be a united player in 48 hours

Is he? You're just basing that off a diplomatic answer by the Juve manager. If hes planning on leaving, Pogba doesn't have to return just because Allegri said so.
There is this too.

We just have to wait and see what happens this weekend.

The comment means absolutely nothing until tomorrow, he might be being diplomatic so no content.

Or maybe its true and Pogba rocks up to training, then we will have something to talk about.

What? People are saying it in response to nothing. If the manager said anything different it would be weird. It's nothing to even react to - where as a new contract obviously would be.

Wait what did i just read

Far superior to whom exactly? I hope you don't mean superior to Pogba because that would honestly make you look bad due to the sheer ignorance displayed in your post.

Renato is reportedly 18. Pogba is 23.

5 years ago, Pogba was occasionally making the bench, the few cameos he was given he failed to impress against weak opposition and anyone who thought he was 'miles ahead' of the rest of our youth team are looking through rose tinted glasses. His move to Juve was largely uncontested by any other big clubs and he wasn't the 3rd, 4th or 5th choice midfielder for one of the best managers the game has seen.

I acknowledged that every youth player follows a different development curve.

Renato has clearly displayed more talent than Pogba did 5 years ago. Even if you use the argument that Benfica is a worse club in a worse league, looks at his performances on European and International level. Renato has seized the chances he has been given and deservedly earned a transfer to one of the largest clubs in the world.

I fail to see anything absurd about my post.

I don't know what I'm looking forward to more. Pogba signing or this thread finally being closed. I don't care about Allegris comments today, Pogba will sign for United at the start of the week, I'm very confident of this. Mourihno basically confirmed a new player will be with us before the season starts. This with every journalist nearly in Europe saying it's done. The fact they bought Higuain for that price, this is done and it's all about the timing of the announcement.

Day after day of pages of regurgitated nonsense, posters more focused on breaking thread records than actually points or updates on new information. A slightly negative tweet that makes posters turn in to 7 year old whiny little girls. There should be a support group set up for people to cope after this thread is closed. This transfer is done and Pogba will be a united player next week. Some in here need serious help, strangest thread I've witnessed in the red cafe.

Seems like a timeline picked very arbitrarily, given that Sanches is going to turn 19 shortly..

Well Pogba is still officially a Juventus player just like what Mou said yesterday and was due back to training tomorrow so he'll obviously report for training.

You're basically acting as if Juventus should lock the door for him and kick him out of training or something. As long as it hasn't been made official(like Jose said yesterday) he is still a Juventus player thus will have to report for training, it's as simple as that.

How about a bit of patience and see how things unfold instead of going through a pre mature meltdown.

Please don't believe for a second it's a genuine meltdown.

Well said.

Lets just see if he shows up at training tomorrow
So if he returns for training it's off?
When we signed van Persie he continued to train, in fact, didn't he actually play a game whilst we were negotiating etc. If i remember rightly, he was pulled out of a training session due to something happening with the transfer, i'm sure i saw a video of it.
If Pogba returns to training so be it, doesn't mean anything if off. If there was any snag or issue, we'd know about it by now

Seriously how will they fund the Higuain deal as well as a bumper new contract for Pogba? They have to get rid.

If he trains with juventus hes a juventus player its incredibly simple. I am responding to someone who said it was done. Done is the key word. Done. if its done he wouldn't train with his former club.

Exactly what you said, it's a stupid argument to compare Pogba at 18 to Sanches, as Pogba didn't get any first team football. But Pogba the year after at 19 in Juve did fantastically well. But for me, Sanches is amazing due to his beastly physicality and pace, while Pogba always had the flair and skill along with having good physical attributes. Sanches is fairly average technically imo and technical ability is something that is generally easier to pick up when younger (when learning your trade as a kid). So, it will be interesting to see how Sanches develops not that he's moved to Bayern.

Yeah, even though I agree, I don't think Juve are a skint club. They could do both, at a stretch. It's unlikely they will though, & seriously, I don't think many clubs would turn down a €120m+ bid for Pogba.

Also, iirc, they've sold a few players (Vidal/Morata) and haven't really spent a lot to build their squad over the years. They should have money.

It's clearly a done deal.

Will be very interested to find out what the delay was though. I doubt we are waiting for a significant date in terms of his contract, as he signed his renewal in Oct 2014 and it ends on 30th June 2019. Surely we aren't just hanging on for him to finish his holiday. That seems rather pointless.

And they could easily sell Bonucci to us or City for £50m

He has a point, Sanches is already further in his career than Pogba was at his age, you can't deny that. Bayern just paid a huge amount of money for him, he has been in a euro final with Portugal, he has been in the CL, it is impressive at age 19.

But Pogba is the better player right now and it remains to be seen if Sanches can reach that level in the next 4 years.

It is like when Pogba was 19 people were saying Ravel was the better talent, at that time he was but he Pogba clearly developped much better. We will have to see how Sanches develops, he can become as good, he can become maybay better, he could also become alot worse than Pogba.

So you conveniently choose to pick the year before he actually got his breakthrough and based you entire argument on him making few cameo for us.

The guy at 19 was being picked in a MF with the likes of Pirlo, Marchisio and Vidal and went on to win 4 Serie A titles. He became a regular in a very strong midfield and hasn't looked back since then. Let's see Renato play himself into a regular spot in a strong Midfield consisting of top class players at 19. Your post is baffling in so many level.

Pogba's talent was all obvious for everyone to see, everyone was raving about his talents and we were all let down when we heard about his leaving. At 18 unlike Renato he didn't get to play and given much chances which lead to his unfortunate departure(many agree that he should have been given plenty of chances to play not recall Scholes from retirement and playing Rafael in MF).

And for the record Pogba didn't failed to impress with us, he simply wasn't given a proper chance to play regularly(he had like maybe 3 appearances before the whole Scholes debacle came to). And the following year after leaving us he proved himself in a team with better MF than ours further proving that he wasn't handled well by SAF when it came to game time.

Let's see Renato get himself a regular starting place in a top class midfield at 19 then we can talk.

Oh behave.

"It's done, it's just the timing of the announcement".

If it was he wouldn't be going to Turin tomorrow, how can't people understand that.

Why on earth would we want a player we are spending 100mil on not to be with the squad at Wembley tomorrow? (Not playing just with the squad).

Why would we want to waste time flying him from NY to Italy to Manchester.

As I have said before the excuses have run dry. If it is indeed done there is no way he would got to Italy. Something which has been stated by several sources which we all chose to believe to some extent. (He will fly directly to Manchester not to Italy).

If you can't see that, it isn't my problem.

No. But the selling clubs have sometimes.
Aargh thanks Sparky. I was trying to think if I could recall us ever announcing anything over weekends. It'll probably be done early next week. Monday even.

And they could easily sell Bonucci to us or City for £50m
Yeah, not to mention Dybala, for more than double that! :wenger:

*wishful thinking*

We announced that we'd signed Darmian and that we'd agreed a deal for Bastian on the same Saturday last year.

And we announced a deal for Kagawa on a Sunday.

The 'we never announce deals on a weekend' thing, is bollocks.

Most on this forum said Sky aren't as reliable anymore.

At this stage, I would not trust any journalist or news agency.
Telegraph said he will sign 2 days ago.
Di Marzio said he'd sign a week or so - again he was wrong, because he tweeted again a few days ago stated that the deal is still being negotiated.
Several other news sources have been taking guesses of when the deal will be announced and every single one of them were wrong.

The only sources I trust are BBC and MUFC (themselves).
BBC have mentioned nothing.
However, Mourinho in his PC yesterday, clearly stated that he is looking to get the deal signed by the end of next week. So, perhaps we are looking at signing him next Friday or thereabouts.

Only 29 pages to go until this epic thread reaches 1000, impressive work guys! If it's not announced until Monday then I fully expect us to hit that muppet target. I'm sure Woodwards just waiting for us to get to that magic number before he lets United announce the deal, it would explain everything if you think about it. Can't wait to have Pogba as a red devil again.

I thought we were done with these sort of posts?

And also Schneiderlin on the very next day after Schweinsteiger and Darmian. I was so excited by the trio. :(

Simon Stone from the BBC tweeted yesterday that he was told there still no deal.
