I really can't wait to see how we announce this deal. Will be anticlimactic I know but can't wait.

I agree completely. I've had a great time posting here these last few weeks. Loads of laughs despite the occasional disagreement. Can't understand those that feel so negatively about the thread but I guess it's a love or hate thing.

The thing I don't understand (and it's not just true about this thread) is that if people don't like it, don't open it. Scroll past, open another thread.

I'm now guessing BBC report it to be a done deal tomorrow after the game, just like they did with Mourinho after the Cup Final, then an official announcement to come on Monday or Tuesday. Pogba ready to make the bench for Bournemouth and the squad is complete before the 14th August, just like Jose said.

You are basing this on what? A hunch?

Can't understand why is he even doing a medical. The guy is healthy as a bull. They should just watch his basketball and boxing videos.

Honestly I think Adidas United and Pogba are smiling like the Cheshire Cat.

I think these deal has been done for ages. But why not wait to announce it. Think of all the free press over the last month, all the speculation and theories. It has been nothing but wall to wall free press for a month. How does that not benefit all of the above. Once they finative this deal the press need to find another transfer drama.

Honestly I think this has been expertly milked for maximum exposure for publicises sake.

advertising/publicity is a factor. But we are talking huge amounts. I'm certain the negotiations must have been tough. The timing of the announcement...a matter of days must of course been controlled for maximum effect. That may account for the secrecy...if so.

No chance, it's crap now, and has been for a week +.

Sign, or don't sign, but for feck sake just make it stop.

So, he's continuing his holiday in France now? That's nice...
Yeah, if you want to believe the "report" by those two 16 yo muppets. But if there's any truth to it, this could end up dragging out for even longer. But it sounds like it might be a serious family matter, and if that's the case, you've got to respect that.

They weren't the first to report he'd be heading to france after new york, and then onto England...

Alright. I just haven't seen other than the reports saying in Manchester already(GdS) and the report from these guys. Who else reported it?

not saying he does since it's impossible to know unless he says it but it's not something that far fetched. We'd most likely to go a bit further with wages and not only that, the kid knows the club and has many friends here, also he has described himself as a "mancunian" before. Now he was likely promised to be made the star man or at least core part of the team, and potentially face of the club (we have had a slump but United is a juggernaut too), under one of the best managers in football. Looking at our recent transfer dealings we are clearly ambitious. It's all too tempting.

Off course Real is always a tempting proposition too, especially on the back of a CL triumph and having a start studded squad and a French manager, one which most French kids idolise, but I feel like in this particular case it would not surprise me if he indeed preferred the move to something he "knows"

I much doubt he would prefer us to Real

Not by some and I got hammered for it.

Anyway we need NYC to France then France to UK flights...
They used to be reliable and knowledgeable but now they're far from.
It's sad when two random people who no one on here has heard about before this transfer are more reliable than a huge media outlet like Sky

Cheers. It still doesn't prove much. Two shitty sources, and it's very possible that both just coincidentally report/guess something along the same lines - or copy what the others are saying. But then again, I think every "report" is just guesswork at the moment.

Unless something extraordinary is holding up this deal or Pogba suddenly decides to stay at Juve, we will see something substantial in the next few days.

So shouldn't GDS be thread banned as we now have proof they are bullshitters?

I actually expected these 2 guys to have an update when Pogba left NY, why? Cos they are the only people who knew where he was staying. They met him the other day outside the hotel and just had to lurk around until they saw him with packed bags again to realise he is leaving.

This is "Gary neville out for 2 weeks" all over again. This is never going to end.

Till it ends.

Yet the best a Sky Sports News reporter could get is a "We'll see" haha
Still, they got reliable (we think) information about where Pogba is off to next

Pogba is a big muppet himself. At least he's monitoring social media very much himself. "The Sport Bible" posted a picture of him 25 minutes ago with the tag "Pogba has just arrived in Manchester" and a few minutes later Pogba himself commented: "Old pic from last winter guys c'mon". I'm sure he enjoys all this attention.

Thats the thing, Pogba has had so many opportunities to put the rumours to bed completely and say he's not coming to United, yet he doesn't and even goes to the point of putting teasers on his instagram.
I'm certain he's loving this

OK just to continue the muppetry on this Pogba move timeline....

Whatever he's coming to France to do (if the reports are correct) of a personal/ family related nature really can't be that important can it? It's not as if he's gone to visit a sick relative because otherwise he'd have cut his holiday short (unless he's a total cnut which is obviously a possibility).

If it's not serious, it can't take more than a few hours to sort out. Could he be at Wembley sitting in the stadium tomorrow I wonder?!!

Could get a helichopper across the channel?

Yeah, I reckon you're right about the personal business in France. Of course, if it'd been that important, he would've been there already.

Unless we actually announce him before the game, there's no chance he's going to be at Wembley IMO. Would be too much of a circus, and it would seem very unprofessional given the circumstances. Even though it's just a glorified friendly, it's still a competitive match, and there's no chance United and Mourinho would want Pogba to steal all the focus and take it away from the game itself.

Question...

I'm sure many of us expected this to have been wrapped up by now, so will the time it has taken and the copious amount of bs from twitter make the transfer that much sweeter when United announced it with him holding the shirt?

I'm sure if he'd have signed 2 weeks ago we'd be somewhat over it by this point. I'm at the point where it doesn't really bother me now, I've no muppet left in me for this one. I'll still be pretty pleased when it's done but the massive excitement has gone for me.
