Returned from my vacation in time to watch us beat Leicester and saw the Pogba confirmation just before the start of the game. It's been a fecking brillint few hours.

I still can't believe Ibra is playing for us, let alone Pogba. Buzzing

So looking back to the fee/turnover figures that were posted ages ago and considering the fee as actually being £89m rather than £100m, that puts it at around 17.45% of our expected turnover for the year.

Last April someone tells you in 4 months time we'd have Mourinho in charge and signed Micky, Zlatan, Bailly and Pogba.

His right leg is basically worth what Edwards valued the club at in 1989.

Sorry if this has already been covered but what do you think Jose meant by "i will wait for him Tuesday"

That Tuesday is medical day? Or the first training session assuming he's confirmed tomorrow?

Mourinho's exact quote is:

"If it goes well in the medical, which I think he will - I see on Instagram he does kung-fu, karate, running, basketball, football - everything, so he must be fit - on Tuesday I will be there waiting for him, if that is the situation for us.

So training on Tuesday if he's fit enough for the medical.

Training, I suppose. Btw, I see that Palmeri is out in full force claiming that ghe full price is 145m euro but United are playing it down

Mourinho won't be doing the medical, he'll be at the training ground, so I assume it'll be medical tomorrow, announced in the evening, and Pogba arrives at training on Tuesday.

Don't read too much into Mou's comments, he said he was informed about the announcement before match started but he was concentrating on the game itself and doesn't know about the details. Considering club has made the announcement and Pogba has completed his holiday, this should be wrapped up by tomorrow.

He's been claiming it's €145m for weeks. Now he either has to admit he was making it up or he has to claim United are lying...hmm I wonder which it is.

That is my reading of it too. Possible we're not even training tomorrow, as we do get the odd day off.

Going to be a fun day tomorrow

Man i was up waiting on something exciting to happen today, i go to sleep and when i wake up i found out #Pogback and we actually well over 1000 pages.

:drool::drool:

This isn't naming and shaming or proving people wrong, but going through the first pages of this thread it's nice to see how many people wanted it to happen but thought it was impossible (I did too) given how things turned out 1000 pages later!
It just isn't going to happen.

Yeah, this isn't happening.

Never going to happen. He wouldn't want to come here. Barca or madrid for him.

Won't happen.

theres more chance of my fat arse playing for United next season, non starter. Castles is a twat too.

I'll *insert outrageous promise* if this happens.

If Juventus are willing to sell Pogba, I can't see us being the team that signs him. All the top clubs in Europe would be after him and unfortunately, we're not at that level right now.

Definitely just popping out name there to drive the price up.

If he isn't at Bayern Real or Barca I'd be gobsmacked.

Wont happen, i give it a 1% chance. Just being realistic, i dont see it. Other teams have great managers and money too.

I'd love to see him come back but unfortunately I really don't see it happening.

Will never, ever happen.

Even my inner muppet says feck off, yeah right!

You're probably right.

But if tomorrow was announcement day, obvs Jose would need to be there for the photos/ statement and signing etc. So thought he may have said "I'll see him tomorrow" if that were the case

Still, doesn't really matter

Can't blame them. I didn't believe it either.

I stand by that.

Gobsmacked, but delighted!!

I think we've been fortunate that Real and Barca haven't had the means this summer it seems.

As I do believe he would have gone to them over us.

Damn, I was OK with getting top 4 after we bought di Maria, now, I don't think I'd settle for anything less than top 2.

I'm delighted to have been proven wrong! I always wanted him to come back here, I'll be even more happy if the £89 million figure is true as well.

I suspect they'll struggle to match our financial power in future and all.

Delighted. Done and dusted as he arrives back from holidays. Onward and upward, roll on the season!!!

He's intellectually on another level. We just have to hope he doesn't concern himself too much with other clubs employees.

LVG was also intellectual but Mourinho additional has great self-awareness and attention to detail, every answer is calculated. Blaming the pitch for Fellaini mistake, explaining clearly why mata got subbed and diffusing that, LVG was never like that in conferences.

It does seem like the gap only will increase  Hopefully that is reflected in the CL as well in a couple of years..

You don't train the day after a match so it will be a day off for mou and the players in the squad today. Then he is back on the ground Tuesday and hopefully pogs has done his medical by then.

Manchester United 'perfect' for Paul Pogba, says Jose Mourinho
http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ted-perfect-for-paul-pogba-says-jose-mourinho

"United is the perfect club to bring him to the level he wants to be," Mourinho said after his side beat Leicester 2-1 at Wembley to win the Community Shield.

"The Premier League is the perfect habitat if you want to be the best player in the world. If you go to Barca or Madrid you are in trouble, because I don't think the other two big guys will let you develop to that level.

"Here he has the conditions to develop in the biggest worldwide championship, with a team that wants to bring Manchester United to the top again. We have everything to give him. Money he will get in any big club. He comes because he knows the club, the city, many of the players and to be part of the Man United project.

"If it goes well in the medical, which I think he will - I see on Instagram he does kung-fu, karate, running, basketball, football - everything, so he must be fit - on Tuesday I will be there waiting for him, if that is the situation for us.

"This has been a good window for us; [Eric] Bailly, Pogba, [Zlatan] Ibrahimobvic, [Henrikh] Mkhitaryan. One defender, one midfielder, one striker, one creative. The squad is good.

"But we need to work a lot. We need more weeks of work. I am happy that for three weeks we have just a match for the weekend."

I'm not sure why but I'm delighted with this £89mil being banded about. Not like the difference from £100mil makes much difference, but now I think we've got an absolute STEAL. Buzzing right now

So did this end up being true in the end?

Highlights Madrid didnt want to spend the same sum as bale.

These people at the Juventuz forum are a real nasty bunch. Wishing him injuries, calling him a mercenary, insulting him...

The guy just gave them £100 million profit and 4 great years, and they are still not happy.

Despicable people. I hope the Italian Juve fans are not like this.
