The Terry injury seems to have derailed Chelsea. I'm not sure injuries will mount up for Liverpool with them having no European games.

It depends who gets injured. If it's someone like Wijnaldum then I think Can can come in and do a job. Lovren was missing today and Klavan filled in well. I think we'd miss Mane though if he was out for a month or so, and it's interesting that the one game he's missed is also the one game we've lost/played poorly.
I agree with what @redman5 said. We're not overly reliant on anyone right now. It's more about the team than any individuals. As you say though it'll be interesting to see how we cope if we get three or four first team players injured. Having to go back to Moreno at left back could be a problem, and playing Lucas at CB for a few weeks would expose our defensive frailties.
Swansea will be a tough test next week.

Liverpool dare I say it look to be the real deal this season. Wouldn't go as far as them being second favourites for the title like the bookies were saying earlier today but still. Going to be a very tough game in a few weeks for us.
Do you mean because they hadn't got going as it was the start of the season - or because of missing players? Either way it doesn't really make sense. We were missing players too.

Unfortunately, for them they dont have a squad with enough quality in depth to mount a serious title challenge. As good as they were today, they were up against 10 men from early on and had 2 penalties. Can only beat whats infront of you though.
Rather than respond to the ample posts giving Liverpool ample praise, why do you pick out one of the minority posts that criticise?
A bit of both. The Arsenal side they played against was particularly weak compared to today's line up (Holding, Chambers at CB, no Ozil, no Cazorla starting). I'd expect us to beat that side comfortably but not today's.
Yeah and they were low on confidence then too with the fan base being particularly prickly. I'd still think we could beat the current Arsenal (they don't like it up 'em, etc) but given the choice, no thanks we're happy with the 3 points in the bank.
One key player: Mane. I said at length in the Klopp thread that I was still not sure of Klopp's managerial abilities because I could see how Burnley were going to set up against us without pace (i.e. Origi needed to play instead of Lallana or preferably Coutinho). But now that Sturridge, Couts, Firmino and Lallana are 2 or even 3 levels above what they were at the start of the season I reckon we could still be decent without Mane.
Oh and boy has Klopp proved me wrong about knowing one or two things about management.
Mostly Mane, but we still created chances, so... we weren't that bad either.
I saw glimpses but I must admit they look brilliant at the moment. Hopefully it is a momentum thing and when they do falter they drop points at a canter. Otherwise, Klopp has got them playing some beautiful football and they look like a team that enjoys each other's company and take pride in each other's accomplishments.

I have said so earlier - Liverpool's true test will be in the second part of the season. The kind of intense pressing they do will definitely take its toll even without European football. Klopp is not used to managing a team without winter breaks and when the fixtures start cramming up towards Christmas, things could easily unravel for them as they won't be able to play this type of 100 mile/hour football which Klopp has them playing.
They aren't going to have a fixture pile up. They might only play another 34 games, barely more than one a week.

I wonder if Liverpool will struggle a bit more away from home against lesser teams due to their style. All of the 3 London teams they've done well at like to play from the back and it perfectly suits the way this Liverpool team press. I wonder if they might find it a bit more difficult at an Andy Carroll led West Ham or at Palace, sides where they go from back to front much quicker and therefore greatly reducing Liverpools chance to press.

4 games in 10 days towards the end of last season. 4 victories with 14 goals scored. So tell me again why we're going to tire, especially as we have no European commitments this season. Wishful thinking on your part maybe ?
They won't get Top 4. Everyone is overreacting because they played a couple of good games.

TO be honest, it is a bit scary as well as depressing to see Liverpool playing so well at this moment. They have signed players that suit their attacking play. There is a good understanding and cohesion between their attacking trio (mane,coutinho, firminio) and lallana. Everything looking rosy for them and without European football i can see them in Top 2 or 3 by December.
I think they'll get top 4.....

City, Arsenal and United for sure. Chelsea will get their shit together. And even if they don't. Spurs has been consistently better than Liverpool over the past few seasons.
I am an United fan but they have played 360 minutes of outstanding football so far out of available 540 minutes. They blew away Arsenal, Leicester, Hull and had 1 outstanding half against Spurs , Chelsea. Their start to the season is more impressive than City's in terms of performance as well as points gathered away from home against potential top 6 teams.
The new signings have certainly helped us move up a level that's for sure. Amazing to think we actually made a profit in the summer transfer window.
There's a few opposition fans saying Liverpool will tire after Xmas because of klopps style. No winter break etc but I don't see this happening. The teams has on most weeks got a full 5/6/7 days between games.

They are definitely in the mix for top 4,they have picked up some good points away from home already and will have an easier run in provided they don't get hit with too many injuries.

I know you signed him up to a 6 year contract but if Bayern come calling then contracts don't mean very much.
