Premier League Gameweek 7

People always argue about penalties being taken into account when talking about goal records, it can be highlighted here by the fact that Milner has 4 goals this season.

That's 2 debateable pens in two weeks for Swansea when it looked like a draw

Swansea the architects of their downfall there. Stupid penalty to give away then one of the worst misses right in front of goal. They deserved nothing at all for being so useless.

Pressing Liverpool's midfield and Mane/Sturridge/Firminio will limit Liverpool a lot, Sitting back against them is an awful idea.

Swansea did well today but lost because of a few utterly idiotic moments.

A glorious endorsement of the quality of the Premier League. One idiotic defender who must be intoxicated as he has the ability to judge the flight path of a football as well as Stevie Wonder. On the other hand we have van hoof who manages to miss the target from 2 meters out. Liverpool were lucky, but it's wins like these that build up confidence. Swansea is a properly shit side.

Didn't sound like they were all that good against what should be a banker win for anyone decent. We don't need to rely on Swansea to go above them we play them soon.

In attack, yes. Sturridge, Firminho, Mane and especially Coutinho are all extremely talented. Liverpool's weakness has been their defence and midfield for years; they've almost always had a borderline world class attack for a long time with Fowler, Owen, Torres, Suarez, Andy Carroll...
Apart from Coutinho and maybe Mane, the others are nothing to write home about. They weren't even good yesterday. Sloppy clearance and horrible finishing from Swansea is what actually gave Liverpool the win.

some of Swansea's players looked genuinely retarded today. couple of times they had time and space for dangerous cross yet they decieded to do... well, I don't ever understand what they were trying to do. Barrow :wenger:

Great win considering we played so poor in the first half. Got lucky at the end but overall we probably just edged it. Winning when playing poor is a good sign. Nice way to start the weekend - over to everyone else now, Everton already fluffed their lines.

Swansea look limited, but arent a bad side. They did well in the first half and managed to escape the press through quick passing and avoiding the expected pass.

Matip, Van Hoorn both looked like decent signings. Karius looked questionable. Firmino has the pose of Ronaldinho, but non of the skill.

This wasn't like grinding out a result. The other team missed from 6 yards out twice. That won't happen regularly. The second chance was easier to score than miss.

It was exactly like grinding out a result, I remember so many games where United one 2-1 or 1-0 and the opponents had good chances to score but missed.

Then for some reason the next game they turn in Mr Clinical and win. Was so frustrating.

Plus, you need a bit of luck every now and again. And up until now this season, we've won our games by playing well.

I could see Liverpool end their championship drought this season, unfortunately.

Rest of today's games are a bit wank aren't they? Guess watching West Ham lose at home to Middlesbrough could be entertaining.

Edit: Feck. I wasted my 5,000 post on this shite.

Swansea were appalling. How did Van Der Hoorn miss at the end as well.

Is Milner the first LB to score 10+ goals in an EPL season? At that rate it's bound to happen.

IMO, Liverpool have improved vs small teams and will finish on 85+ points. What's their record? 86?

Liverpool will probably end the season with 25 penalties so he might actually win the golden boot.

How long is Lallana out for?

Klopp mentioned a groin injury, won't be able to play international. No idea how long out for...

Dunno who we play next, but hope he's back for that.

Lol, Liverpool grind out a win and it's "pool are shit, players are shit and Swansea are crap!" Utd do it and it's " wins like that wins titles"

United gets the same amount of penalties you do in such a short span and it used to be "United owns the FA, Whiskeynose commands the refs".

Conclusion: Football fans in hyperbole and heat of the moment shocker.

I would love to see those comments, we have been dire all season bar 25 minutes against Leicester. I think it is fair to say you were given a win today, you didn't really create anything. Lots of pressing, but no real end product.

We haven't got enough quality. I'm more confident about staying up, though I think we'll definitely be in the relegation battle. Our defense without Williams is shite.

Noggie commentators are obsessed with Conte's hair transplant and are all convinced that it will all fall off if their performances doesn't get better. This is the third match I've heard it mentioned.

We had 17 shots in the second half. Surely that counts as creating chances?

Are any of the matches on right now any good/worth watching?
