I agree we were worse, but not "far worse". However, the point is that Chelsea played every trick in the book to wind things up and Spurs fell for it.
It makes Rodgers look even worse when you consider how poor Lallana had been prior to Klopp's arrival. I wasn't a fan of his but now he's one of the first names on the team sheet.
My only concern is burn out. Lallana's ran more than anyone so might hit a wall as the season goes on.
I'm still trying hard not to get carried away because I know how quickly things can unravel. Two defeats to Swansea and United would set us back so much after such a good start.

Another stat for you is that we have enjoyed the second highest possession in the league thus far, behind only Man City. We're showing ourselves to be capable of breaking teams down despite having a lot of the ball.
It's the movement that's the point here though, it's not the 'possession'. Your movement at times, especially when at full pace, is superb. That's what will win (and has won) you multiple games by scoring 4 or more goals. I predicted as such earlier this summer.
They key point to pick up on here is that the label of 'possession' in your case so far isn't implying control in the way Guardiola tries to do. Liverpool haven't really controlled a league game through possession yet - Chelsea came close when you were on top but they had spells despite generally being well beaten that countered that and in the end had more possession across the game. Arsenal were very much in the game too barring THAT emphatic 20 minutes. Burnley had possession but nothing effective due to far too many wild long range shots killing it.
That all said, there is satisfaction, even as a Utd fan, in being able to admire another way to have the ball but dominate games through always being able to offer threat at any time due to the movement your attack has. Every United fan can relate to those characteristics in the late 00's when we had Cristiano. It's exciting stuff. Not as reckless as simply knowing you can outscore an opponent but always knowing you can fight fire with fire and sting enough to push them back.
Let's face it that's not beyond the realms of possibility is it ? It's what we do, & have done, for many years now - Flatter to deceive. Lose those games & Klopp will go back to being over-rated. Those on here saying we'll finish top 3 will then say we'll be lucky to finish top 6. & those excellent signings will revert back to just being bang-average.
The boom & bust cycle tends to work with both sets of fans.

Got away with one today. However they say if you can still win when playing poorly is a sign of a good team. Yes another penalty but I don't think we have been awarded any that shouldn't have been. As for Sturridge; he slows us down way to much one or two touch football until he receives it and then he hangs on to it for to long. Still, second for now I think a draw tomorrow would be good
His last injury has finished him, before that he would come back in seamlessly with all his attributes intact, this time it just didnt happen funnily enough hes managed to stay relatively injury free, but hes going to have to adjust his game, his body cant do what it did before. Its a shame i genuinely believe he would have been a top 5 in the world striker, on top form he was that good.
Their 90min pressing is quite impressive, although it’ll be interesting to see whether they can keep it up the whole season.

Klopp is a great manager but he can't make players do anything they are not capable of, he can only get them to produce it and get his tactics right. I disagree with you and think are squad is better than average' it's just taken Klopp to show it
I don't get the obsession with having the keeper play it over the top of the pressing player to Clyne or Milner. It always results in us giving the ball away. Karius did it several times today.
Not a great performance but shows we can win without being at our best. That's a good thing to be able to do.

Maybe you're right. Mane, Countinho, Sturridge and Firmino are all class - but are the likes of Milner, Llalana, Henderson and that defence really all that?

You don't need 11 class players to make a good team. You do need some star quality, match winners but also a squad of good players who fit into the manager's way of playing.
Milner has been very solid at left back and Lallana one of our best players so far this season.

One of my best days ever in football, not including United, was when Chelsea won at Anfield and City won at Goodison. 26 years long may it continue. If the standing is like today at New Years Day I´ll support the noisy neighbours like I support United

They are looking very good so far and with no CL/EL I think they will most definitely finish in the top 4 if they keep it up (bar any serious injuries). We need to really step it up if we want to come away with any points from Anfield in a few weeks.
