David Moyes | West Ham in talks with him for managerial job

I think he has already gone done that, within weeks of getting the job.

I didn't mean him (although him doing that is par for the course at his clubs), I meant the handful of his defenders on here that bizarrely look for reasons to absolve him of responsibility when it's crystal clear he's just a shit manager. I don't understand why it's so difficult to see.

They took Fergie's instructions to " Stand by your manager" a bit too much.

Moyes - Readytogo?

The lost look he has on his face is reminiscent of Wilko. He's a busted flush.

I've never disliked a manager as much as I do with him.

He's definitely suffered from being the manager after big Sam. He had the bones of a decent team and all he needed to do was keep it together and add here and there and he spunked away millions on the likes of Papy and McNair

He has the cold blank stare of someone who sees the manner of his own death in the future....

I wanted him here and thought he'd do well. He's disappointed me in just about every way. Doom mongerer, can't organise a defence, crap signings, awful tactics, no inspiration.

He had nearly £30M. Sam only spent about £15M in January and literally turned our season around. 27 points in the second half of the season, top half of mid table form.

He's been an absolute disaster and looking like one of the worst managers we've had , including lower divisions .

Match made in heaven.

Only this week Moyes was saying he'd like the Scotland job one day, but right now they 'lack quality'.

Pot, kettle, David fecking Moyes.

You could replace this almost verbatim with his time at United. Just substitute big Sam with SAF and McNair with Fellaini.

Moyes jumped on these past jobs way to fast. He should take a break, have a good look at himself - evaluate his situation and ask himself if this is what he should be doing.

I just don't get where he gets his motivation from. He's happy making football go back 3 decades? He couldn't invent something new even if he was transported back to 1910.

The most impressive thing about him is how he could get that far with absolutely no ability, talent or ideas. It's absolutely mind blowing.

The massive pay-offs he gets every time he is fired ?

 True that. Like - Oh shit, back to football

Sickening. No wonder players have no belief in him. He's a cancer in football. Him and Tony Pulis.

At least he gets results, and do it no matter where he goes. Moyes haven't done anything since leaving Everton.

Whats a break going to do for him? He had one for 8 months. Unless you mean a Curbishley sort of break.

Hes a terrible manager. You can have a laugh at Pullis or Sam Allardyce, but Sunderland would not be in this position under those two.

A break isn't going to make him a better manager.

Beggars belief this clown was allowed anywhere near our club.

Guess all the big names were taken and he was the only remaining option. Don't buy this chosen one bollocks for one minute.

This will be his last PL job unless he gets someone promoted from the lower reaches

Moyes....Beach football management.....

Given the interviews and words from Jose, Klopp, Ancelotti, Pep, it certainly seems like he was last resort for us.

Very odd choice of job from Moyes. Things have been difficult at Sunderland for a while and there seems to be clear problems behind the scenes either with the chairman, Roy Keane and Martin O'Neill both alluded to this before. Obviously if you come into a club where the manager has left it is always going to be difficult but this club seems to be continually having these types of problems, something must be up. There are other jobs that would come up during the course of the season and you wonder what made him feel like it was such a great opportunity in the first place, especially as he has a reputation to rebuild. Whilst a club that has sacked its manager is always going to be a bit messy you would imagine that most would be in a better state than Sunderland

Awful, awful manager. Always has been. I have no idea how he got another job, let alone at a club in the Premier League!

Madness from Sunderland.

Probably because he had zero job offers from anyone else.

His contract is for 4 years. Not sure if Short will like the big payoff to Moyes by sacking him so early and more so, if he can afford it. If someone like Big Sam is not available or not interested, not sure if there is manager to turn season around for Sunderland with players they have. Tough spot to be in because players alread look like they don't want to play for Moyes.

Nail on head mate, it can actually be more lucrative getting hired and fired by a succession of clubs and getting big pay-offs than it would be just being successful and staying at one club for 3-4 years.

He will be due another big pay-off if/when he gets sacked as for some absolutely baffling reason Sunderland decided to give him a 4 year contract.

He made some awful signings over the summer. That Papy fella from Chelsea is arguably the worst defender in the league, didn't sign a striker to help Defoe and spent 6 million on McNair and Love. Shambles of a manager.

Managerial fraud. Then again, anyone with half a brain knew this within a couple of months here at United.

Those who still defend this clown need to visit their GP for mental health reasons.

The only supporters who have anything decent to say about him are Everton ones and as we all know, they aren't even that high in number. Says it all really.

He's got such a horrible aura around him. A dour, arrogant piece of work that radiates failure.

"What's the plan for this season boss?"

"Try to avoid relegation while playing shit on a stick football because you and your team mates are crap".
