How Jose didn't think carrick would have been perfect to unlock them is beyond me
We were playing very nicely in the second half and then Herrera got a red card. It was no time to bring Carrick to the field. But he'll start next match, for sure.

When will we give youth a chance?

I sound like a broken record but Rashford upfront and Martial/Pogba/Mkhitaryan/Lingard behind.

If it isnt working THEN throw on Ibra or Rooney etc. But I just think its time we played with pace. Isnt that how Mourinho plays anyways? With pace on the counter?!

It feels like we are going away from his usual tactics all because we need to accomodate Ibrahimovic.

Your team selection batters the opposition but your striker misses two sitters, your team hit the woodwork and the opposition goalie has the game of his career
But it's your fault?
This one is on no one but zlatan
And why was he in the team? Rashford should be starting through the middle

Happens too much this though. Basically we have become that Liverpool type side that could never break down these type of sides and that's why we will finish around 6th this season. People won't want to admit it but that's the truth.

But we did break them down, repeatedly. It was the finishing that was at fault and at the end of the day you have to look at that as just 'one of those days' - a real statistical anomaly.

Well i dont care what anyone says but that is the best we have played in 4 years. sometimes in football, it just happens and you cannot score. Burnley had 11 men behind the ball at all times and Heaton had every luck in the world. there centre backs seemed to always be in the right place and when we had a real chance they fell to players who are off form.

I thought the ref had a great game. apart from the second yellow for Ander I agree with all his decisions.

I think Ibrahimovic is too old for this league. he's burnt out already, this is not France or Italy whwre the pace is slower. he should have come off at half time. absolute waste at times.

Rooney was our saviour? messed up a great chance at the end, passes like a sunday league. he is not even worthy of a place on the bench. sell him in Jan and be done with the goon. Fellaini another waste of a player. poor subs by Jose.

Where was Martial and MKH??? the one thing we lack is cutting edge from the wing and we have that already but not even on the bench. I think Lingard is rubbish. too lightweight and defo should be benched. why was mata taken off :s stupid decision and could of used him when we had 10 men.

Other than that, great game. I feel deflated but not defeated. if we continue like that, it's just a matter of time!
Top man

Still blaming Ferguson for the clubs woes years later is pathetic

Teams manage to rebuild and go again on an annual basis and still maintain form. Especially with an endless bucket of cash available.

Ahhh it's pathetic is it?!

Was blaming the lack of success on the presence of Busby pathetic too?!

Didn't think so!!

lol... Zlatan lowest rated player. These people feel Rooney and Fellaini did better?

Ibra was outstanding in the build up, his link-up play with Mata and Pogba was a breathe of fresh air. The chemistry within the team is there for all and sundry to see, unfortunately we just aren't finishing off the chances we are creating. Granted he missed chances in front of goal but his overal play was first rate.

It's hard to see the positives in a game such as this, but they are there and in great variety.

Eh? Misfiring striker should have been taken off then. But it's not what Mourinho did.

Neither challenges on Darmian were penalties. We would have been pissed if someone like Shaw had a penalty against them for a good tackle. Not really sure why Clattenberg is getting so much bashing. We didn't win because we didn't take many open chances. A very unfair result, from a pretty good performance.
Regardless of your thoughts on the penalties, he had an absolute shocker of a game. Basic stuff, like shirt pulling, pushes and giving goal kicks that should have been corners and vice versa. Not to mention the red card, he was crap.

Zlatan and Pogba can get lost and join the clubs / leagues they came from!

Hear hear

They didn't have 90 minutes for it, I suppose. fecking up for 20 minutes is less bad than doing it for 90.

He cost us 3 points against Man City, 2 points today already 5 points , I think the FA must look into it , it can't be coincidental

If I were Jose, I'd ask the club to send a letter stating that Clattenburg should not be allowed to ref our matches as he is making too many "mistakes", which always go the way of our opponents.
If we can show video evidence (especially for the LCFC game), there is no way that the FA can dismiss our accusation.

And yet all we'll hear is that he's well and truly past it and a "fraud".

We're broken.

Completely agree. But how do you fix this club? What's the solution? There's very little we haven't tried.

Do we simply believe in Mourinho, say he's the right man and give him another season even without top 4? Do we go the 'patience' way, leaving ourselves exposed to the abilities and decisions of a manager that has many, many question marks over him?

Or do we not get top 4, have the Adidas deal's value slashed in half then be somewhat forced to get a new manager, since that's been the standard for the last two sackings?

If Mourinho thinks this squad needs a clear out, then he needs quality players to replace them. But will those quality players come, when our financial strength will be weakened and they see that even a world-class manager can't make this team successful again?

How long before our best players start to look elsewhere? Will De Gea and Martial put up with more 5th/6th/7th place league finishes?

It's doomsday material but if you really think about it, it's the reality and the future looks terribly bleak. I don't care how well we play when we don't win matches. This team has a genuinely serious problem with winning games consistently and that's what leads to all the other consequences. I don't care how well we play if we can't make it count.

Taking off Mata was beyond stupid though. That's on Mourinho.

Rooney didn't look fresh at all and slowed down everything. Also can't strike a ball.

This will sound strange for sure but this looked like a Fergie United. Attack, attack, attack, chance after chance.
Difference is we didn't score. :D
That's good to hear, which means the team needs to calm down and keep playing that way.
Mo needs to bench Ibra no matter how much they get on. Rooney should stop being a consideration and he needs to work very hard on getting Martial, Rash and Miki up to speed as soon as possible.

Ridiculous post. Do you happen to know the numbers for the coming national lottery?

Seriously, I am worried just like everyone else that we struggle in the league, but it's been 10 games into the season.

They didn't have 90 minutes for it, I suppose. fecking up for 20 minutes is less bad than doing it for 90.

They had enough to be rated by the board software, and seriously tell me that Rooney and Fellaini did much of anything? They just came in, were slow to release the ball and took our general play down a peg.

The people voting Zlatan below Rooney and Fellaini are fecking idiots.

Pogba was absolutely immense. The ball he put in for Zlatan that was miffed in extra time was like a video game cross. Looking forward to seeing more of that.

This was a game that could have been laughed off if United were closer to the top of the table, as they played incredibly and were so clearly superior. But as it stands, daaaaangerous to drop these points ahead of the run of games coming up.

We're broken.

We're not.
We absolutely dominated the game - something we never did last season.
Our problem was finishing and also a GK who put in a God-like performance.

Pogba had a good game.. But I guess him and Zlatan will be blamed for everything.
No he didn't unless you call just taking a shot from anywhere like Darren Gibson a good game.

Two matches in a row at home which this happened. Its not coincidence anymore. Its bad finishing. Lack of cutting edge.

Changes need to be made.

This.

I am pissed we didnt score, but we should have won 5-0.

Don't even know what to think there. It's all good saying these games happen, but 2 games in a row against teams we should be hammering and made the chances to get like 5 or 6 in each. Ibra overall played pretty well, but the finishing was fecking woeful and for that alone I would drop him. We need Martial's pace and composure against Swansea, play him up top and let Ibra know he isn't undroppable. Far too casual with his finishing this season.

Also our winger selection is holding us back. I love Rashford but he is shit on the left. On the right at least he can whip it in nicely on occasion but he is not good at dribbling and going past players. He just kicks and runs right into the fullback. Keep him as an impact player off the bench. Mkhitaryan and Martial really have to start games though, their decision making and composure is sorely lacking at the moment.

Plus points, Mata and Pogba were fantastic, Darmian had a good game, Shaw had a good game, center backs only really had to pass it around but did well anyway. De Gea nothing to do. Herrera solid again and then incredibly unlucky to get a yellow because he slipped. Clattenburg is a cnut. Subs were strange today. Mata best player on the pitch yet gets subbed off? I kinda understand why, as we lost our center mid, but take off just lingard and see what happens. Fellaini had no point being on the pitch. Put Carrick on if you're taking off Mata to keep that creativity.

Anyway, we aren't getting top 4, that much is obvious. Probably not top 5 either. I know it's relatively early days, but we've fecked up multiple easy games already, and this was the 3rd game that should have been a hammering, yet only the Hull game did we get the win in the last second. Terrible finishing in all of them. So it's not one off bad luck games. We need composure up top and Ibra isn't giving us that.

Lads we look tired. That little bit of sharpness is missing.

The bad news is we are playing two games a week till christmas. The players need a break.
