    I actually still can't believe the whole Evra-Suarez thing. It's just surreal. Suarez was racist to Evra. It is an undeniable fact.. And Liverpool officially came out with t-shirts defending Suarez. The Liverpool fans I know to this day say that the term used by Suarez is slang for friend and that Evra lied about being racially abused at Stamford Bridge, and they hate Evra. Evra got racially abused and then got witch-hunted by the club who's player was responsible. It was despicable. How did Liverpool just get away with that?

    Before that I always went along with the whole 'deep down there is respect between the two clubs' thing but after that, absolutely not. They're really vile.

    There was and, as you say for many of them, still is no perspective on what happened for a lot of Scousers. It's like a cult. They simply ignore any evidence that contradicts what they believe.

    The report was clear. Kuyt's testimony contradicts Suarez's and put Suarez in it. Yet for many of them Suarez was some sort of martyr.

    What I found particularly funny about the whole thing is, large sections of the English press argued that winning player of the season in 2014 showed Suarez had moved beyond it. Then he went to the World Cup slagged them all off and signed for Barcelona. :lol: Frankly, they deserved what they got a) for thinking Suarez had changed and b) thinking being good at football covered up unrepentant racial abuse.

    Suarez could've been a man about it and said 'I was wrong. I said something unacceptable and I'm sorry. I totally lost it, I wanted to say something as hurtful as possible to get at Evra, and in a moment of total madness I went there.' Had he manned up, accepted he was wrong, and explained his actions...I wouldn't accept what he did but I'd have some context for it. Instead he's acted like he was wronged ever since. 'Always the victim...' :rolleyes:
     
    Liverpool's behaviour over the whole Evra-Suarez episode still looks as bad as ever.

    What on earth were they thinking.
     
    Matip seems to get talked up by the Liverpool fans on here like he's peak Rio and Vidic combined. I can't say I've seen that much of him. Is he that good?

    No, he's not Vidic/Rio good. But he is very good for sure.
     
    I don't think I'd take 3 Liverpool players in a combined 11 let alone 7, that's not me being biased just we have way more quality, it shows how good Klopp is that he can make all these awful players seem like world beaters.

    It's genuinely amazing. I used to think all football fans were essentially the same: bit biased, tad hypocritical but ultimately it's only the club that differs. Liverpool supporters, though, are something else. I've been in a bar in Delhi where they have booed at Evra on the TV. Really hope we make them grovel on Sunday.

    Agree with this. We're halfway through a season which isn't long enough to judge anyway but posters are still selecting Coutinho / Matip / Bailly despite missing around 2 months of football in that already small timeframe.
    Look at Mata. He's been one of our best players this season but is finding it hard to play since Mikhi has kicked on. Are people saying Klopp wouldn't play him over LaLaLand if given a choice?
    It's all nonsense really.
     
    Feel the first goal is going to be the decider in this one. Hopefully Zlatan fires one in early!
     
    I cannot wait for this match. Much on the line and you never know in these types of matches. Hope everyone keeps their sanity, as Mourinho is starting to get the emotions going by getting the fans up for it. Will have to stay settled on the pitch, don't want to lost a man.

    I'm excited and nervous but can't wait for this match to kick off. 3 points would be massive and really boost our confidence while hurting them even further!
     
    We're due to twat someone, one of those games were it seems like every chance you have goes in.

    Also, how they tried to compare the Suarez ban / their defense of him, with the Cantona ban and our defense for him.
