Rothen: Di Maria's PSG form affected by poor attitude

They won't get more than £10m margin if that. They actually paid us £45m for him which I still maintain was a terrific price for a complete failure of a signing (we actually only made a £7m loss).
You lost nothing. You broke even on that deal i think. Player's worth lose value every year of their contracts. Di Maria's worth on the books was what you sold him for

Considering he was the engine of that team Im not sure. Wasnt he sold to make way for Hamez? Ironic that he is looking like he is leaving RM too.
Considering we've been better since he left, ir was a good deal. I'd still take him back in a heartbeat, mind.

Woody did well to get good bank for him before his value plummeted. Di Maria is a bit of a Berbatov. He has all the flicks and tricks to looks amazing but you'd never depend on him to be the guy who grabs games by the scruff of the neck on his own and be your match winner consistently over a run of games

Granted that he was never good enough to warrant the record fee we paid for him, nor did he sustain the form he showed under Ancellotti and at the WC, but I still think we should consider having him back if it means PSG takes one of our deadwood off our hands. Depay or Schneidi plus 14m for him sounds fair to me. Even at his lowest with us, he was still capable of producing moments of class per game and we all saw what LVG did to the likes of Herrera, Rojo and even Rooney. I think he can be a rich man's Willian under Jose.

Having him back?
Are you serious?

Hyperbole on my part their player recruitment in recent seasons leaves a lot to be desired.

That's only true for one season and even then that's only true for one role, goalscoring. They replaced Ibrahimovic with Cavani which is a success but they didn't replaced Cavani who was scoring a lot from wide.

Unpopular opinion and I'm gonna get slated for this, but I'd actually love to see him back at United.

He would be immense under Jose.

Wouldn't say I'd want him back that ship has sailed but I'm curious to see the link up play with Pogba, ibra and miki + Di Maria.

I'm sure it would be beautiful to watch and we'd be the most entertaining team in the league by far.

I hate him for what he did, but I don't think he crossed an uncrossable bridge like Tevez or Ince.

Football wise, he provides us with a lot of what we need. Again, only for the right deal, I'd want him back.

He had the shittest attitude I've ever seen from a United player, Ince and Tevez fought every single second whilst they were United players. fecking ADM just downed tools, didn't want to be here at all, he also hated Manchester and made that clear to the World. Horrific on the pitch after the first couple of months and actually did damage to the club brand with his behaviour and attitude towards the City and the club... how on Earth is that "not as bad as Tevez or Ince"?

wtf.

Not at all no, I'm just a Nani fan, I was contesting the inconsistency point you were making but it seems you weren't really making that point, its just a wording thing. I agree with you fergie wouldn't go for ADM to be honest for all the talent he undoubtedly does have, he doesn't have enough for a manager of a top club to bend over backwards for him. This will be the third club in four years to let him go with little fuss and its certainly not because he isn't talented enough.

Then we agree, was just using Nani as a comparison, that he could have been a much better player if he had more desire to improve, and I think Fergie getting that one truly great season out of him is testament to Fergie, but AdM is a lost cause and wouldn't have thrived under Fergie.

@Jaybomb @Ramshock he really wasn't a great player for us, he had one great year when he was rivaling Bale, but look at tge trajectory of the two players since, one had the desire to improve while the other, well, just didn't seem to have it in him to keep performing to a world class level (like AdM) and just because he won a lot with us didbt mean he was integral.

He didn't actually play for a direct domestic rival, did he? As for him supposedly hating Manchester, this is rooted in hearsay and practically impossible to prove unless he himself is stupid enough to admit it to the media. I also don't buy him damaging the United brand with his behaviour. He won't be the first or last player to have crap attitude, it's not like he's a pedo or did hard drugs during his year in Manchester.

Yes, he downed tools but so did a lot of our players under Moyes.

But again my contention is it is exceptionally rare to have a wide player hit that level of consistency. Nani was certainly one of the best the league for a lot more than that one season he was world class.

Hope his haters haven't been watching this first half against Barca. :nervous:

I hate that word, haters.

If he's been shite of late its because he's been shite. It has nothing to do with hating. Drake has ruined this generation

Who the hell is drake ?

Do we really need about 4 Di Maria threads at the top of the page? Player plays bad, then player plays good. There's not that much more to it. It doesn't mean anything ground-breaking or revolutionary, he's always been world-class with a shite, pussy attitude and none of that would have changed tonight even if he was terrible.

If utd ever signed him again id personally rob his house every single day until he pissed off again

Locking this thread for the moment as there's currently a more suitable one for discussion. We don't need two.
