What a stunning half of football by PSG. I don't think I could ever get enough of watching Veratti in this sort of form, although it has to be said that Barça's midfield is making it easy for him. They're leaving players in acres of space in the middle of the pitch, that was unimaginable in Xavi's day. They look tired, a team going through the motions. But you never know with them, if they can do some damage control here they could suddenly be up for it at home again. PSG would do well to widen the gap even more. They've got plenty of firepower with Di Maria and Draxler with Veratti pulling the strings behind them, though I remain unconvinced by Cavani. Has he ever done anything in a big game?
I'm sure every team is interested in him. PSG won't let him go and he don't want to leave. Nothing to do with anything else.
Reckon Barca have bought into their own hype. Seems like their players just don't have enough drive and have become lazy. Too many players in that team not pulling their weight and too many players not adequately replaced.

If Barca don't find a way to score a goal they are almost out. This PSG team is much superior to Milan from 12-13. The fact that they don't have Zlatan up front is making them faster and more deadly on the counter.

Rabiot/Verratti/Matuidi are dominating Barca's midfield, PSG's pressing messes up their build up play. Barca has massive problems closing down the space in the center of the pitch and PSG exploits that well.

He's got a lot of room because he creates that space for himself by dribbling. If he is pressed he can shake off pressers quickly. If they drop off, he does those clever direct ground passes right through Barcelona's midfield.
Well, Zlatan is safe for now as we don't have to worry about that at all.

Don't get me wrong PSG have been brilliant so far but barcelona have been absolutely dreadful. I don't think they could do this to teams like Madrid or even Chelsea.
Madrid tried bidding for him as soon as Ancelotti arrived, PSG say he's not for sale and as he signed a new contract at PSG last summer the chances are he's happy where he is. The chances are that if we've asked, we got exactly the same null reaction as them.
I so want us to break the bank for Verratti. Never gonna happen, of course...

Calm the feck down, I wasn't bashing any players, I was bashing transfer policy of big clubs such as United and Real Madrid.
Less realistic transfers have happened over the last few years. Just last summer both Ibra and Luiz left PSG.

That half reminded me of the Bayern (7-0) games, Barca and Messi completely listless, outplayed individually and tactically.

Since mid-December, the team is in a great shape. The mercato has brought more competition within the squad.

He's very popular in France. At the international level, not impossible some don't kno him very well because he plays in France.
