Ranieri sacked as Leicester City manager

Been coming for a long time. Interesting timing though right after a decent result at Seville.

At the end of the day though, CL is nice and all but the main thing is avoiding relegation. Maybe he is not the best manager for that kind of challenge.

Wow. Just wow. I guess all fairytales do come to an end. I wonder who they go for at this stage of the season...

Quite a surprise despite their form this year.

Taking fecking Leicester to the PL title only buys you 6 months leeway.

Right decision. Not sure how it could have been done in a classy way but it was necessary to sack him imo.

CL run was the only thing keeping him in the job.

Action needed to be taken.

Players have stopped playing for him.

Those players are a disgrace. Hope they get relegated.

Wtf

surely that title win would have game him at least one season of leeway.

Right decision. They needed a change, or they risked getting relegated.

A new manager will force the players to prove themselves. Could make the difference in staying up.

Although, why would they sack him before the 2nd leg vs. Sevilla? Seems odd.

I think its the right decision. He was going to get them relegated and couldn't motivate the team in the league.

I hope that it lifts the squad for the game vs Liverpool on Monday

From a top 4 viewpoint its actually great news. Liverpool must be cursing their luck

feck Leicester. They should be putting up a statue of the man.

Why not both?

They can technically put up a statue for his achievement last season and sack him this season to increase their chances of survival.

They are going down if nothing changes. Brutal form.

Granted, they sold their best player and didn't adequately replace him and they signed some dross in the summer, but the players threw him under the bus. Hope they go down.

Sad news, bad times indeed. Wouldn't have happenend one or two decades ago, IMO.

Nothing on the BBC at 19.47....

Would be strange after last night, and would show a total lack of class, but Vardy in the Championship I would love to see.....

I don't know what is the surprise, the football is awful, yesterday they could have lost by 3 or 4 and managed to score 1, but that does not hide the lack of quality of their football, if they have an good coach maybe they will avoid relegation and will beat Sevilla.

Wow. I mean on this shambles of a season it was deserved, but I didn't think they'd do it. It definitely makes sense, relegation is a serious possibility at this point.

Probably the right decision as it's clear the players weren't behind him anymore. Sacking him taints their success story a bit for me personally I have to admit though. Was hoping they'd stay up under him but now I want them to go down.

Feel bad for Ranieri, obviously.

At the same time, it seemed they had little chance of staying up under him so hardly a ridiculous decision at this point. Players have been disgraceful though.
