David Moyes | West Ham in talks with him for managerial job

A club that seem to have done nothing better than just about stay up for a couple of decades, managed by a discredited limited manager.

I don't know why anyone thought this was anything but an obvious outcome.

well said sir

Exactly, because we all know if asked the question, he would definitely say NO I've never been relegated in his stupidly smug way and finish off with, "they sacked me before they went down" so it's not his fault.

Suprised they even have 20 points, feels like they havn't won a game all season.

Next time a Sunderland player has an interview, they should comment on how hard Moyes is trying, but ultimately he lacks quality and the club needs to invest in a better manager. I wonder how well that would go down, seeing as Moyes basically says that about his players every week.

I would pay to see this.

I'd take Coco the fecking clown at this stage..at least he'd be happier

Most negative manager we've had.

Hope you're right mate couldn't bear the thought of this coward next season
I'm done defending him. New man please.
It's not too late for the club , he needs to go hes drained the life out of everything safc
moyes been unlucky

think the only things has has really got wrong are

his negative attitude
his signings
tactics

I can't believe we hired this man. What a way to shoot yourself in the foot. I hope Arsenal have the same stupidity when they replace Wenger

It shows how far detached from reality the club had become under Fergie's Midas touch. Like the normal rules didn't apply to United and we could turn water into wine.

Arsenal would be mad not to appoint king Dave.
I actually remember someone claiming Moyes was better than Wenger when it was announced we were hiring him  I think it was Twigginator...also known as @Wumminator

Edit -

That graph is absolutely fantastic and can easily be used to show how Moyes is the second best manager in the league. That really is a fantastic statistic and has me looking forward to this season all the more.

Christ! He's even too negative for Sunderland fans. Worst mistake in this club's history.

He had a banner from the intelligent Utd fans. A b.a.n.n.e.r! The Chosen One. My God.

I've always thought (and still do) that Wenger is a great manager. I'm still gutted Moyes didn't work out for us, was desperate for him to continue from Ferguson. Still remember being there for his first game (And LVGs). Fast running out of hope nowadays.

How silly would it make United look if even Sunderland sacked him earlier in the season than we did.

 Fecking hell

Sunderland fans saying he's their most negative manager ever. That's quite a feat.

I'm so glad that whenever I see his name or face pop-up I don't get the cold realisation that he's associated with Man Utd. It's still hard to fathom those defending him in his final few months before the, thankfully, inevitable. Absolutely sucked the life out of the club and, for me, just made football depressing.

He doesn't deserve anyone's support because he has not done shit yet. His numbers at Everton are appalling. We have no idea if he is SAF's first choice. For all you people know he could be Glazer's sole choice. He is a lightweight in a heavyweight's ring. I am sick and appalled at his appointment.
This post got absolutely killed in that thread...but it was right

Sensational appointment.

Might even get rid of some of the spoilt little brats that are apparent 'supporters' of our club. They're already out in numbers with 'OMGZ MOYES IS SHIT WTF WE'LL STRUGGLE FOR EUROPA LEAGUE PLACE! BARRON SPELL COMING!".

Fantastic comments from Charlton and co. Spot on appointment at a time when we're caked with ridiculous "Oh, we'll appoint a manager for three years and then replace them". Awesome appointment.

Won't name and shame but safe to say some got carried away back then and lost touch with reality.

Turns out those 'supporters' were right.

That's what happens when someone goes overboard in trying to prove their a better supporter than everyone else. They always end up looking foolish.

Back in the days when "longevity" was seen as the supreme virtue, certainly above minor details like a track record of winning trophies. And the idea someone might stay in a job like Everton for over 10 years simply because they were never going to get a better deal was discounted because the Daily Star had once linked him with the Chelsea job.

I did not watch a single minute of our games in his last 4 weeks, no highlight, no football websites,...nothing. I spent the entire time trying to forget about football.

The people who insulted Moyes before he'd started acting like they are somehow superior.

fecking hell modern football.

I understand that Ty fellow on Arsenal TV because he is defending a man who (albeit many years ago) had brought championships and brilliant football to his club. I never understood why United fans should feel they owed David Moyes a living. No previous connections to the club, an uninspiring career in management as he reached 50 and yet somehow grotesquely overpromoted due to Scottishness/family links/brown-nosing or who knows what else.

One of the most overrated managers in Premier League history. He's essentially a worse version of Big Sam/Pulis.
