Should Arsenal sack Wenger

I hope he signs an extension just for the reaction on ArsenalFanTV.
I am already bored of AFTV. They're not deluded like Liverpool fans and don't hate everything like City fans so it's just the same regurgitated post match rants now.

I actually quite like Claude and a few others from the channel and think they speak a lot of sense.

Özil wouldn't be a huge loss for them, he isn't all that. Sancheź is really influential, but I think he too could be replaced.

They just need to spend. I actually have faith in Arsenals scouts compared to Liverpool. More often than not, the few times they do decide to spend the big bucks they make it count.

What I don't get is the talk of Tuchel. What the feck has he done? Seriously?
He's young and up and coming I get that. But that would he a big risk on Arsenals part. Really throwing the dice there.

Imagine this: Sanchez leaves arsenal and joins PSG. The board sack Arsene and he Joins PSG as well!
And, as it turns out, both of them planned it all along! It's a poignant story of how the victim of a one-sided marriage finally decides to end his misery and runs away with his till-now secret lover to realize his dreams.

I'll get on the script right away.

I agree. Tuchel is the current hipster's go-to guy in football management.

I like it. Make sure you add in that there was a genuine sexual relationship between them and they felt that they had to escape the homophobic nature of english football so their love could blossom and you may have a best seller on your hands.

Whilst we always knew Sir Alex, was a better manager than Wenger.. one thing that people would always claim was that he was one of the games gentleman, one of football's nice guys.. but if he stays, does it now show him up to be a real egotistical cnut who only cares about himself.. lacking in humility and disregarding the wishes of the fans and lacking the awareness to understand that the club would be better off without him.

If Fergie had not won a league title or produced a competitive side at the highest level as long as Wenger has, would he have walked away? Yes, out of shame.. he'd have felt embarrassed for putting the fans through something akin to what Wenger has put their cub through. The guy is utterly shameless.

Big-ish money successes: Cech, Sanchez, how much was Kosc?

Big-ish money failures: Perez, Xhaka, Mustafi, Welbeck, and maybe Ozil? Was Giroud close to £20m?

Not sure they've got it that right. I'm probably missing a few.

They got wellbeck for £12 or £14 mil I think, which is not big money. Plus you can't really call him a failure, as he's done exactly what most thought he would do. Spend quite some time in the physio room, play a few games, score a few goals. And it's took early to call Xhaka and Mustafi failures.

None of them deserve to be on that list. Perez, the first three deserve time, Ozil has been a good signing and Welbeck was bought for £16m.

He's not won anything at senior level yet though on the other hand he had only one season at a big club yet and that one, despite having to step into Klopp's footsteps, was basically instantly a huge succes, aside from the final minutes at Anfield. In a way he's a bit like a young Pep clone, who really likes to play positional attacking football and thus would be a good fit for Arsenal on paper, if he's available it would be quite logical for Arsenal to at least consider him.

Giroud was 12m. Perez and Welbz were 16m, which is small change today. All good squad players to have but not game changers. All of last summers signings deserve time. Mustafi started very well.

Why if the board want him to stay and he's meeting board expectations? The problem is the difference between board and fans expectations/objectives/investment. If Wenger leaves the investment won't change. Fergie never had the financial restrictions Wenger had for a decade and the decade of underinvestment and constant selling of top players was always going to take a long time to fix.

£16m.

Boo hoo with the financial restrictions bullshit. You have had more than enough money, no one expects you guys to have been the top dog over the years when you are competing against financially stronger outfits.. but look at how much United spent from 2005-2012 and it wasn't that much greater compared to Arsenal.

Look at the way Atletico compete with likes of Barca and Real. Whenever you guys have spent money, have you actually spent well? there are so many bargains out there in the world of football.. have you guys brought well during the latter part of Wenger's reign? no.. and talking about money, look how much United spent past few years and we were still shite. People need to stop using money as an excuse all the time.. it is about decision making, eye for a player, the fact that Wenger is tactically a moron. A host of issues for why Arsenal have underachieved.

Seems that Kroenke is the owner we all thought the Glazers would be. A caricature of a parasitic American capitalist, happy to bleed the fans dry and laugh at them when they complain.

I hate Arsenal but what he is doing to one of our biggest clubs is a disgrace.

The only way the fans can force change is to stop going. That's the only thing a money man will take seriously. If people say they can't make the sacrifice, well they're just feeding the parasite.

Of course Giroud wants him to stay. Which other coach will put up with his inconsistencies? Plus he still collects a nice fat pay cheque. So why not?

Do you think the disharmony between Tuchel and WZ is pure fiction or is there some truth in it?

If not, then Dortmund would never be so kind to let him go there.

And again, I still do not understand why this has not happened yet.

Posts like this are utterly lacking in perspective. Fair to say a supporter of any club not named Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool or Chelsea would laugh at that.

I don't think the topic would've been as persistent in the media if it was pure fiction, but at the same time I also think it would be mad for both sides to end it at this point. Tuchel took the club to the next level tactically and they have a squad with loads of potential (Dembele, Guerreiro, Weigl for example) that Tuchel can put he stamp on.
His (international) reputation is also quite a fresh one, if he jumps ship and bottles it his career might really suffer, Dortmund is a very safe option in that regard. On the other hand all that might not matter if the personal differences in the leadership are too big.

Seriously? The Glazer takeover handcuffed Sir Alex in the transfer market for many, many years.

We had over £700m worth of debt. When we sold Ronaldo we bought Owen, Valencia, and and Obertan ffs. Ferguson was restricted financially as much if not more than Wenger. Difference is Ferguson still won trophies.

WHAT?!?!? WHAT? WHAT? You spent massively more than us during '05-'12, you had about 10 players who cost twice our transfer record. It took us 12 years to spend more than your '01 record signing. We had a negative net spend for over a decade while you had a very big net spend for that period.

For the record Atletico were spending more on top players than we were up until recently and have great Spanish youth players. Atletico didn't have a negative net spend for a decade and if they did they probably wouldn't be where they are today.

He absolutely was not, you had a large net spend we had a negative net spend. You were hurt by losing CR7, but not as much as we were by losing Henry, RVP, Fabregas, Nasri, Ashley Cole, Vieira, etc etc etc

Wenger has never been a nice guy.

He was pushing other managers on the touchline as early as 2006.

He's egotistical but most high profile top performers are.

At one point our net spend was less than Sunderland. You might want to do some research next time

If SAF was handcuffed, Wenger was imprisoned on deathrow.
We started replacing Ronaldo with Valencia and signing the likes of Owen, Young, even Vidic and Evra were the cheap alternatives. Hernandez belongs on that list as well.
Is that any different than Nasri/ Arshavin etc?
Sir Alex made that transition work, Wenger didn't so it became harder for him every season he failed.

For one season when you sold a player for a world record, every other season you were top 3 for net spend, while for over a decade we had a negative net spend.

Maybe some perspective EH?

Nope, that's not true.

What's your excuse for Wenger this season then? He spent £90m in the Summer and this is shaping up to be your worst season for 20 years.
