Is Mou still 'The Special One' for you all?

Played favoures (again) and it backfired. He wanted to bring on Martial too late, and the injury to Young forced his hand, so we ended up with Fellaini and Lingard flailing about for 90 minutes because he wanted to prove a point with a shit line up.

Needs to cut this shit out next season. We didn't hire him to get the best out of Fellaini, Young, Lingard and Rojo...Moyes could've done that.

Agreed. Starting line up was a bit appalling IMO. Mikhi should have started instead of Fellaini.

I'll support him till he leaves but I just don't trust him to do this job properly. I've felt like that from the beginning so none of you lot can accuse me of knee jerking. Right now though, he's our manager for the time being and all I can do is support the team and him.

It's just worrying that we just can't attack well at all. We looked really promising right at the beginning of the season when it looked like we had finally got our shit together but somehow we've been getting progressively worse.

Some of you lot just refuse to criticise the guy, I don't get it.

I'll criticise him, but without a doubt he deserves our support and getting rid of him right now or whatever would be a ridiculous idea.

Let's be honest if he's name wasn't José Mourinho, he will be on the receiving end of what Moyes and LvG got at this stage. Shambles!

This game was never a Mourinho problem. His job is to create conditions for the team to create chances. He can't score for the forwards.

But our entire 'condition' is crossing the ball or hoofing it.

The premier League has an abundance of tactical managers now & it has resulantaly improved in tactical quality. That type of football is a the upmost basic thing most clubs learn to defend against.

I wouldn't mind if he was consistent, but he's obviously not. He's built his fabled "them against us" mentality, but only amoungst our also ran players who follow him slavishly. If he'd expend half the same energy building up the likes of Mikhi and Martial, we'd be a lot better off.

I'm still on his side, and want to see what he does next season, but I'm not gonna pretend I haven't noticed this glaring flaw in his preparation. 'Cos you can see it from space by now

We keep saying that we have created enough chances and we are fine?

Please watch other Top 4 games you will realised that they created much more chances per game and their attacking play and passing are much more fluid and entertaining. They have very good system and teamwork.

Whereas our attacks are so slow and predictable albeit we created some chances.

Also if he was in charge of a different team getting similar results, the caf would be unanimous that he currently isn't all that special

He spent an absurd amount on Pogba when he came in. I'm fine to give him more time and would perhaps even be happy to do if we don't make the CL as long as there's been obvious improvement but considering we've had three managers since Fergie now, I'm starting to be a little suspect of this excuse.

Chelsea finished 10th last season and within one summer window Conte had them strolling the league. Klopp/Guardiola have arguably improved upon what their sides had last season within one window, too...although those improvements have been relatively minor like us, and we could still feasibly finish ahead either of them. But still...I'll happily give Mourinho time, but he splashed an absurd amount of money last summer for improvements that are...well, minimal so far.

He brought Pogba, a player who will be the fulcrum to our future, he is part of a team in transition, his fee should be analysed in 5 years not after 8months.

He needs time.

We are creating enough chances in all of these matches, and we are conceding few. The manager is not the main problem IMO.

No we don't. In the first half, Robles made one half decent save from a speculative Herrera shot. Ibrahimovic probably should have scored, too, but it was hardly a great cutting move to produce the opportunity. Other than that we created naff all.

Second half, we hardly created anything. We launched balls into the box repeatedly, with no real purpose, and got our head onto a few half chances. Where is the interplay? Where are the cut backs? Where is the controlled, attractive football? If we wanted to see that second half then we could've just employed Big Sam and be done with it. I can't for the life of me understand why people keep justifying a few half chances as some kind of peppering of the goal. It's simply not the case. Everton were comfortable for the majority of that game, and it only took a moment of complete stupidity from Williams for us to score a goal.

And the half time substitution was laughable. It took him 3 minutes to realise that Herrera at left back was a bloody stupid idea. It could have taken any nacker on here three seconds. He then changed it, and we ended up having to bring on another left back anyway, losing the ability to bring on Martial.

I don't necessarily have a problem with the Pogba fee, to be fair, as I'll happily agree he was a very good buy who will become pivotal to the team over time.

But I do worry that the "he needs another transfer window" has become a bit repetitive in recent seasons. Maybe it just all feels a bit too like LVG's first season...some obvious improvements upon the previous season without particularly looking great as such, all while spending a ton of money and making a big, marquee signing. Granted, I think Mourinho's going to do much better than that, but I can see why some people would be frustrated at the suggestion another transfer window will fix things when that's been the case since about 2014 now.

Of course. Imagine Mourinho with these results at Spurs.

There's a lack of objectivity around here. Some just can't face blaming him for anything.

Our players just don't look motivated under him at all though. We just look like a disjointed bunch of mercenaries.

I've been willing to give him the benefit of the doubt thus far but if he doesn't win the Europa League then it's been as bad as any of the previous three seasons.

You'd think by now even Mourinho would have questioned whether a change in tactics might be required.

I heard something on BT about 20 goals in 15 home games, absolutely pathetic.

That's the part which worries me a bit. He did well at Chelsea in his first 2 seasons but his record with attacking players there was a bit suspect. He bet big on Oscar and as a result froze out Mata, who had previously been their best player, and sold De Bryune. Then, I could never make out if he was on best terms with Hazard or not. I think Jose simply has to make a talent like Martial work at OT. He is having a tough second season, not uncommon for a lot of new players in league. But long term, Jose needs to make him a concrete part of the team.

Not even Ancelotti would win with that group of players. You need world class on pretty much every position to get it running fully in 4 competition system.

Win the Europa and he will be redeemed. But there will be hell if he doesnt.

Not any more. I'm sticking with him cause there is no one else.

Same with my missus, I'm sticking with 'cause I don't have a chance with Jennifer Lawrence.... doesn't mean I don't want better.

What sort of brainfart was that at half time?! Then having slaughtered Shaw all week, brings him on, leaving Fellaini lumbering around like lost dog.... a lost, shit, slow dog what's like a bad stream where the video and audio don't sync.

9 draws at home, this one is totally on José. Didn't deserve it.

He can only save the season by getting top four or winning the Euro Cup. If not then I guess it is who is available in the summer.

We won't sack him and I dont think we should, but he needs to learn some big lessons from this season. Namely that stubbornly playing favourites with our harder working, less talented players is a futile and self defeating approach.

The Chelsea mutiny seems to have scarred him a bit. He needs to get over it, pronto.

What if someone like Simone is available?

Yes, because the teams ahead of us have world class players in every position.

We'd be back at square one. And our fans would be just as annoyed, if not more so with his style of play.

Plus whatever his faults, Jose & United as a pairing can still attract bigger names than Simone. We're a better position to push on now than if we keep revolving managers IMO.

I have to admit - I expected better from Jose. Much better. Started off so well but with the constant dropping of points, it's not been great. At this point, the draws feel like defeats.

Poisoned chalice or do we keep appointing the wrong managers? Let's not take away from the fact some of our players are gutless shites.

To challenge for the title and still be able to win a trophy or maybe even two you'll need world class on almost every position.

Other teams can feck off. Teams like Liverpool are a one race horse without bigger drive for any trophy.

What's worrying is that all our young talents (that are still in club) have regressed under him, Martial, Rashford, Shaw, TFM...

When did Liverpool bring in Klopp, October? That seems about fair if things are still like this next season.

Limited what he can do with so many weak players. Watch him go next season after a good summer.
The thing is.....you are banking on an outstanding summer. what if he doesn't get Griezmann, and Bale? I don't see the point in Mbappe because he is a child and will need much much instruction and patience. throwing money at it isn't so simple

Hes over complicating things. I dont get why managers do this with stubborness and playing favourites.

The biggest thing thats annoyed me about Jose is the lack of playing time to certain people like TFM. Or going with players in positions that doent work, dont have track record of success yet is still tried.

Our attack reminds me of when Torres went to Chelsea. Just lost all confidence. We couldnt hit water if we fell out of a boat. Completely impotent in front of goals. I still back Mourinho though and i think we will win the Europa.

The rest of the squad is rotten mate, thanks to Moyes and LvG. Takes more than one summer to fix.
The rest of Liverpools squad should be rotten. finished 8th last year and have had literally one summer window. Everton were shite last season and may overtake us. There is no real excuse to be lagging behind everyone else

We'd be back at square one. And our fans would be just as annoyed, if not more so with his style of play.

I like his style because the entire team execute it perfectly, he embodies the idea of "team sport".
