Reports today are claiming that James Rodriguez prefers a move to Manchester United. No one is really sure about these rumours but it looks like Rodriguez is fed up with Madrid and the club will be happy to sell him for good money. After being substituted last night by Zidane, his reaction said it all.

Rodriguez is known to play as an attacking midfielder and or winger. He can play across the midfield or front line. He is 25 years old. He is a left footer. He dribbles well. He's very decent at set pieces. And he is a constant goal threat.

Should United be going all out for this guy?

Considering no one has seen him since the 2014 World Cup probably not......

No thanks.

feck no,hell no,feck giving that circus of club money so they can reinvest. They would drain us and we would get player who wouldnt like to leave but he is forced out.

Mourinho isn't the manager for him, so no.

Always reminds me of a less talented, slower version of Di Maria.

Everyone is saying no so yes

What happened to him anyway? I thought he was excellent for Madrid during their 20 game win streak under Ancelloti. He was creative, worked really well with Kroos, Modric & Isco and did a fair bit for them defensively to make that midfield work.

my go to question for muppetry all summer long will be:

What are his finishing skills like and what is his conversion rate?!

Definitely would be great if we get him for a reasonable price (unlike ADM). He would be an upgrade on most of our attacking options and is still young enough to give us 4-5 good years. For me he is the kind of player that can come out with something special when the team is struggling to score and we do not have many such players.

I'm surprised that almost no one on here wants him. He doesn't fit well in Zidane's system but he's still a class player and would work very well in Mourinho's 4-2-3-1.

We should only go 'all out' for a very limited amount of players:

Lewandowski, Hazard, Neymar.

However, as none of them will ever join we should use our resources more wisely and not overpay for another upper medicore player..

Stronger version of Mata that is a good threat from distance as well.

Price would be ridiculous and we don't really need him.

Haven't seen much of him to comment tbh. Would think he's an upgrade on Rooney at the very least :nervous:

He's just heard what money Lingard is on, of course he prefers us!

No idea. Maybe he needed Ancelotti to get him to play like that in a box-to-box role

He's quality though

Not James but I would like us to get Isco since he would be realistic. If I had to choose other Real players, Benzema and Casemiro would be my choices.

Isco who is only 24 years of age is a phenomenal player. His ball control is almost as good as Iniesta. He's not a bad cover for Herrera and Pogba. The guy has goals in him. If we don't get him, Barca, City or Spurs would snap him up.

Yeah I prefer Isco too. Feck James.

It will be annoying to see Real recoup the money they paid for him.

Only situation I'd want him is if we could get a world class destroyer to play in midfield with Pogba.
No way should we move into using a 10 until we've fixed that part of our squad.

I'm at the point now with players that if we signed Messi he'd be shite for us. Doesn't matter who we sign we turn them to shit.

If we wind up back in that formation (which I expect if we get the right players in) then absolutely.

I can't say no to top quality players at the club. Madrid has a way of taking the luster off many an excellent player. Seems it's the same here w James

Hes a goal threat in a Real Madid team that has plenty of good players to help him.
Not sure he is worth the money being quoted.
