He's always fluctuated wildly as a player. We absolutely nullified him today. He's still quite a good player. I mean, look what he did against us in the FA Cup.

He is still a top, top player. It's hilarious how one game just completely turns opinions on the caf. He had a poor game - yes, but that happens to almost all players except maybe Messi.
If anyone knows how to get a shitty performance from Hazard, it's Jose.

Yesterday's game isn't a slight on Hazard at all. You put him into Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern or whoever and there are 3/4 players who can hurt you just as much as he can so our tactic becomes redundant. Chelsea are just over-reliant on him and it showed.
Neville and Lampard (I think) made the point that Hazard wasn't clever enough to do something different to get away from Herrera. Though that arguably could be said of Conte as well yesterday it shows that Hazard isn't quite as good as he is made out to be. (he is still pretty damn good when he wants to be).
Anyway it was one game and yesterdays tactic may not work every time but it did do kudos to Jose and Herrera.

There's not much you can do when you're man marked to the extent Hazard was. Ball to feet is not really an option not that Chelsea had much of the ball in the first half to feed Hazard in any case. One option is to bypass the press altogether and play it over the top but the only real passer for Chelsea was on bench for an hour. And when he did come on we bought on Carrick, sat back and reduced the space in behind. It was thorough job on Hazard by Jose. Does go to show how average the rest of their attack is.

Didn't play badly today, he just didn't turn up at all. Be surprised if he touched the ball more than about ten times, went missing when Chelsea needed him. I don't recall hearing his name mentioned in the commentary at all in the 2nd half.

He hasn't Alexis's passion and love for the game. Yeah, when he decides to turn up he is a sublime player, but he doesn't do it often.
