PL fixtures & FA Cup Semifinals Apr 22-27

I support United. We've also outplayed numerous other teams this season and didn't win the matches, we must be even bigger losers than Spurs going by the logic on here.
Oh I thought you were a spurs fan my bad. But yeah, not really, we win silverware they dont, even in our most depressing seasons we win, FA cup last year, league cup and potentially EL this year. They haven't won a cup in 9 years and a league cup in like 50 right? They also had their chance at the league last year with a similar squad to what they have now and Leicester ended up winning It, they're losers just like Arsenal, that'll sink in sooner or later for them. Or when their stars get tired of losing and leave.

Back to their best today and with a sick squad too, can't see us or arsenal being able to keep them out in the final. Hope I'm wrong.

If we can win the cup this season, we'll have more FA cups than Liverpool. Something, something history..

Hearts broken around the Caf as their beloved spurs go crashing out

I don't see what their history has to do with their current team? They may have been bottlers before (I don't know enough about their history to say either way) but I don't see how this side can be called bottlers for losing one semi final and for losing a title race they were never favourites for. Leicester were incredible in the second half of last season though, it certainly wasn't a bottle job by Spurs when they were playing catch up the whole time. They did throw 2nd away in terrible fashion though, admittedly. And were really poor in Europe this season but injuries played a big part in that in fairness.

Spurs aren't able to splash the cash like we are either. They have to slowly build a side that's able to compete and they're currently doing a good job of that. Another couple of years of coming close but falling short and I'd agree they can be accused of being bottlers. It's too early to say it yet when you can see they're still on the rise though. For me, at least.

They've only beaten us twice in the last 6 years, and one of those was a community shield. I'd pick Arsenal over City any day of the week.

Yeah..I think City would give you a bigger challenge...but that isn't hard to say at the present time considering the Arse are pretty shite at the moment and in some disarray.....

You sure you're not a Spurs fan...?

That's such a one-sided view of their failures, excusing every angle of it.

They've had 10 chances at a trophy over the last 2 seasons - 10 chances.

Either their players aren't that good, or there's something within the mentality of the club that sees them always fall short...

I don't believe it's the players.

I said they're losers not bottlers, although they did bottle the league, Europe 2 years in a row and generally played below their level vs the bigger teams this year.

SO if we don't get top 4 do we put it down to injuries then? I doubt it. Kane wasn't really out for too long and they didn't do too badly whilst he was, they lost to GENK or GENT. Can't remember, too irrelevant. Well they should hope their players stay or they're taking steps backwards especially if summers consist of buying the likes of sissoko for 30m. Theyre a bit like liverpool in that sense, they have to buy stars before they're stars and hope they continue to stay loyal, I wouldn't be surprised if the likes of Eriksen and Aldeeweireld are off after a couple of years of not winning anything from this point, they're capable but they don't, call it bottling or just being losers, it's all relevant.

Tell you what, seeing it again, not beating that Matic strike this season, feck me

Spurs are a very good team but if they dont win anything, in twenty years time no one will care about how good they are.

out of curiosity, what has happened to treble winning? not seen posts for a while from him
@Invictus killed him off for quality control. Mods have a feature called usernotes for making notes on certain posters. He had by far the most with 26. None of them good.

I don't excuse their failings in the Europa League either season. They only have themselves to blame in that. Either not taken it seriously and putting out weak teams or putting out strong teams but the players not giving it their all. And the same is the case for their exits in the Carling Cup both seasons, iirc. And I can't remember what happened in the FA Cup for them last season so can't comment on it.

But I fully disagree with the notion that they bottled it today or for either of the league campaigns.

Who do you blame the supposed poor mentality on, if not the players?

Not really, as most of our poor results came before our injury troubles. If we were in the top 4 now and ended up outside then of course we would say injuries played a big part. Kane missed half of their group stage matches, iirc. While their centre backs both picked up lengthy injuries during the winter too.

I agree with you that they probably have to win something in the next couple of years or they risk this team falling part. I just don't think it's at point yet. And neither is it at the point where they should be called bottlers for not winning anything yet.

Will be a Chelsea / Arsenal final.

All I'm concerned about is winning our next two games and we go 4th, level with Liverpool in 3rd if we also win our game in hand on them. Just hope Palace can do us a favour tomorrow and we can put in two more Chelsea performances.

It's bizarre that despite all the draws we've had and all the games we've played, we could still get 3rd. It's still possible!

No chance Arsenal are beating City.

Hate Paddy, one of the worst bookmakers. Its like they try so hard to be funny that it comes off as cringey.

Given that Mrs Brown's Boys was voted the best sitcom in UK history, I'd say Paddy Power have an excellent business plan.

This. This. x100000 I absolutely despise them. Their tweets are not even remotely funny, they try too hard you are right.

I've a pretty strong gut feeling that Arsenal will beat City. City aren't that impressive at all.
Best side in the EPL by miles are City, no one comes close at all. If they werent done over by refs every single week theyd have won the league by now.

Can't pretend that I'm not incredibly disappointed with that.

I also can't help but feel that this match, within 90 minutes, encapsulates why Chelsea will win the double and why we will end the season with nothing.

We were the better team throughout the match, it was not a 4-2 match at all. Yet they are more effective, simply better at winning matches. At the crunch moments, they took their chances. They scored 4 from 5 shots on target, 8 overall. From a freekick, penalty and their first corner. That feels the same way as the season tbh. I feel for stretches we have been better, play better football etc. Yet they are just better at winning. They're very efficient.

Lampard got it completely spot on. You don't need to play well to win finals.

I don't really know how to change that tbh. I said even against Gent I felt they had better and more mature game management than we did. Buy lots of winners, splash the cash? I'm sure if we were taken over by a rich benefactor our 'bottling' would go pretty quickly. But we certainly need to win something, anything, soon.

Poch disappointed me today. The Son decision was baffling. That put us at an instant disadvantage from the beginning.

I just hope the players can focus on the last 6 games.

Well done! Even a fierce argument is still good if it was done by making logical points. He has never used any logical point in his discussion. Always throw garbage things in and let other up set.
