Is Mou still 'The Special One' for you all?

There isn't a single team in the premier league that would take a league title away from Barca or Madrid, Atleti in the last few years have. You don't win leagues by being stupid and going away from home and exposing space when half your squad is depleted. If we tried going gung-ho we would have allowed so much space and they would have punished us. Fellaini and Carrick are much too slow to make up the space they would have left.
I just said to another post I didnt mean go gung ho but if we had let a goal in we were never going to pull one back

I dont agree. How abot if Citys goal had of stood? We would never have pulled a goal back Playing 10 at the back only opens it up to being attacked over and over. When we got the ball back it was a hoof hit and hope tactic. Im not saying go gung ho, but I would hope we were better than doing that. I hope after the summer transfer window we neever play like that again.

Away from home in the Europa againts Celta we will do the exact same thing. And correctly so.

Ferguson used do the exact same thing away from home. Keep it tight.

Can you please understand the disadvantage a team has, be it Barcelona or us or whoever when playing away from home. We would have lost 3-0 tonight had it been any other way.

No problem with being defensive tonight and there's nothing Jose can do about the players cocking up every counter attack chance we had.

Yes we got lucky this time. How many chances did they create, which on another day they would probably scored from one

Two proper chances I can remember, same as us, despite us being ultra defensive. The majority of their chances were hopeful shots from outside the box. Only proper chances they had was Aguero when he hit the post (which was a very hard angle) and Otamendi's header. Any other proper chances?

You are not giving City the credit they deserve given in is in City. We would play the exact same against Bayern and Madrid or Barcelona. But if we were at home we would attack. Dont give out to me that is simple football. Any game away from home in the PL or CL is difficult.

No I'm not giving them credit because they're nowhere near as good as those teams. City had plenty of the ball and still couldn't create many decent chances, a better team would win that game comfortably. They had two ageing full backs and a sluggish Yaya Toure in midfield, if we could string more than two passes together Martial and Rashford would cause them plenty of problems.

Lucky how? they did nothing tonight.. It was nervy witnessing them attack but if it was us playing in blue and West Brom playing as us.. you would be kicking up a fuss about us being toothless and boring.

Have you seen the lineups today?
The point I'm making is if we had of conceded we wouldnt of gotten a goal back. We got lucky this time. Lets hope next season with new players we never play like this again

City dominated United to the point where United didn't deserve a point.

The thing is with injuries it was expected, I really think under LvG or Moyes this would have been a 3 or 4-0 loss today.

Mourinho is building a team from the back and hopefully in the summer some match winners are bought.

If Herrera or Micky wouldn't have missed....

The point is Jose set the team not to lose today. Because we are depleted with injuries and fatigue is felt from the 60th minute. We got the job done.

This thread has run its course. Take it to the post match thread.
