City signing a fullback/CM hybrid makes a lot of sense in light of the way Guardiola has had his fullbacks playing in recent years.

He doesnt have a verified account and doesnt say SER on his account anywhere. I also am skeptical about a spanish journo knwing something about atransfer of a brazillian player from france to England.

He does work for SER. There are pics of him with microphone that says SER. Also he's based in Barca. Maybe he has some contacts with Pep. Well I hope I'm wrong.

Romero is generally a very reliable source, FYI

So if true, Pep has possibly tied up the two of the biggest glaring weaknesses in City - fullbacks, with Sandro & Fabinho

Yeah Sandro before playing biggest game of his life will decide on transfer or even Juventus when they are about to play their biggest game, they will agree to sell their best fullback.

If City get Fabinho it would kill my summer transfer boner before it's started.

Not getting Fabino would be a blow, he's arguably the most important player for us to get, our midfield is always unbalanced without the holder.

I agree, this has NEVER happened before

When? Not Gotze one which was Bayern triggering clause than clubs agreeing.

Name the transfers which was agreed just before playing biggest games.

UEFA should invent a cap on the amount of Brazilian players who's name look something like this F.........O that can play in the same team.

If he goes to city it just shows how competitive the PL has become. From youth signings to these massive ones, the margins are so fine and you can't sign everyone. The top few clubs can all pay world class wages now and offer CL football. It's just a matter of time before English teams start competing well in Europe again. I don't think any one team will dominate the league again like us in the next generation or two though as it's so competitive.

That would be a great start for City's transfers. I was really hoping we would go for him, but maybe Jose wants Eric Dier instead. Fabinho would make a big difference to City if he carries on this seasons form.

Agreements between clubs & players during a season, irrespective of an impending Cup final, happens every season and in every league. Moreoever, Juventus has already made it abundantly clear that they are open to sell any of their best players should it meet their valuation, as United fans know full well.

Juventus have already been linked to Emerson Palmieri as a Sandro replacement should Txiki pull off what would undoubtedly be the most expensive fullback signing ever

I click on this thread because I read Di Marzio linking us to Fabinho only to read some other journo is linking him to City, wtf is this shit ?

Would've much preferred Fabinho to pissing Dier. Looks like £40million Dier could be Jose's preferred 'Carrick replacement' in the starting 11......kind of underwhelming, I just hope Jose knows what he's doing. He does have a fine eye for defenders and defensive minded players.

Re the bold part, link please?

Re your post, it's very different from agreeing to move between season and dealing transfers before CL finals. Sule agreeing to move to Bayern in between the season is very different from Juventus/Sandro dealing with transfers with CL finals.

Btw, what's even the source for this Sandro news?

Yeah I thought the same. Changed the thread title right now.

Oh dear, let the meltdown commence, looks like the famous Di Marzio knows about as much as we do.

I did see that a little while back, but my inner muppet isn't giving up as it is only a 'little soft spot' he has for City after all.

We have a chance to get him I feel, we just need to blow City out of the water by paying him more than they are willing to do so.

Jose also needs to excite him and his father by telling them about 'the project' we have and how he can be a big part of it.

Gutted if he ends up at City. Cracking player, and exactly what both ourselves and they need.

feck me dead, should be our first summer signing and kicking things off, instead he will be a star for Pep next season

Best signing of the summer already to City and be hard to beat while we sign average nothing players in Keane and Dier

One rumour and its meltdown here. Wish I could say I was as confident of getting him but these things are never simple.

Di Marzio's record on non-Italian-based players isn't up to much, but in fairness it is possible to miss out on a player, even if he is at the top of your transfer list.

Di Marzio never said the player wants to come to us, nor that we are the only club interested. He just said we want him.

Don't worry guys. Carrick will soon sign a new 1 year contract extension with us
