Wow. Got to give Jose credit. He did it. Europa cup and CL football. I actually prefer this to finishing 2nd or 3rd and its definitely better than finishing 4th. Playing the qualifying rounds should be a breeze next season.
The players did well today, Fellaini and Smalling deserve special mention considering the stick they received all-season but I have to give the most credit to Mourinho it seems like he had a master plan and it all worked out.
Well done.

Seriosly, that is all types of wrong. Look how angry he gets by the fact that we have been successful this season. At 3.40 he looks like he is about to launch across the studio. :drool:
 
I just love the fact Jose gets it. He isn't embarrassing at all, he doesn't go over the top and doesn't also underestimate things. If Moyes or someone did this he would manage to make it cringey or just over the top celebrate.

Definitely. I know Utd came 6th but gave up the league position on 34 games played otherwise a slim possibility of 4th and guaranteed 5th end of season

He says some absolutely thick things when he co-commentates, but I still don't mind him at all. He's a bit of an idiot and actually a bit of a weird guy in general but I can't help but still like him. It's also hilarious how he seems to support United now and not Liverpool

A Spurs friend of my mine said its classic Jose defending all game, Ajax were shit and it's not a big thing and it wasn't enjoyable. I don't like Spurs fans lol
 
I have to admit as I travelled out here today I was so bloody nervous. It's all been worthwhile. Just back to hotel and reflecting on the game after a few celebratory beverages.

They didn't lay a glove on us and we just bossed the game. Was begging for the game to end just so it couldn't be taken away but the feeling watching our boys lift that trophy was just immense.

Trying to put into words and failing but just YESSSSSSSSSS
 
This has literally made my summer :)

We can now offer Europes top players Champions League football and have the finances to sign them. I definitely think we need to clear 4 maybe 5 players and bring in the same number of quality replacements. Exciting times ahead and I'm seriously looking forward to a summer of great transfers.
 
Before the game kicks off "Ajax are a young amazing dangerous team and can win" commentators after the game "they are just pleased to be there, they are a young team, played bad and had no chance".

Just admit it, Joses tactics made it easy for us
 
I would genuinely like to hear from the people who thought Ajax would blow us away. It did have me a bit rattled I must admit. So what did you think went wrong people?

I love being told we are boring. It's almost like people think teams should match styles and see who's better. Football isn't about that. They pressed, we figured out how to beat it and they had no answer. Boring? Master class more like

I didn't think they'd blow us away at all but we just defended really, really well.
And having fellaini as an outball made life much easier for us, particularly with him having as good a game as he had.
It was just a really good defensive performance imo
 
A win that,overall,was well deserved.The young Ajax side played some pretty football but lacked a cutting edge on the night.
Its great to be in the Champions League again and with one or two decent signings it will be very interesting to see how we do.
All the defence played well but my men of the match were Herrera and the much maligned Fellaini (including by me).
Had to laugh at the presentation.....3 guys going up on crutches first but Zlatan walking freely as if he'd never had an injury.......and taking selfies when they went up........things have certainly changed ! ;)
Dedicated to the victims and families affected by the terrible bombing at the Manchester Arena and the good people of Manchester.

What I love is that they didn't even get a kick. 1 shot on target? A comfortable clean sheet for Romero who, many people were speculating would drop a clanger and cost us the cup, yeah right!

We absolutely beasted them all over the park and ran out of ideas after 20 minutes. Their deadly striker, hauled off after 60 minutes.

Jose doesn't get enough credit, he's been battered all season yet he's achieved this

My God. Could you imagine what they would have said if we lost. McBride must feel that he is surrounded by imbeciles. The fact is we have been in a slump in recent seasons. We brought in a new manager who bought a few top players so as to get us back in to the football elite. To accomplish this we need even more top players who most likely would only come if we qualified for the CL. Mourinho chose the best way to achieve that considering our run of bad results/ draws.
Guess what he achieved his goal so I would think he was successful. We were successful. The league cup, the Europa Cup and CL qualification. Stevie talks about us coming 6th in the prem but he must realize that the goal is to win it and after that its to get into a position to qualify for the CL. Well we did it just like his beloved 'pool but we got more cups to add to our silverware and they did not.
