RAWK Goes Into Meltdown 2016-17 Edition

I'll try it.

My Liverpool supporting mate that helped abolish slavery in their great city in 1833, who also helped construct the Albert Dock, taught the Beatles everything about music and has a genuine perm and tash to this day and wears nothing but shell suits and only shags birds with fake tans that wear Pajamas 24/7 says they are shit and that Klopp actually isn't a genius. Also said United are the best and that we are in good hands with a successful manager who knows what he's doing.

It's fun, I guess.

A poster pretending to be a Liverpool fan outed himself as a United fan last night after the match:

Which got this reply:

Lol, we're back "squirming" again, as we have been in every other season since Ferguson retired, apparently. You're not learning are you. I guarantee in a month's time you'll be giddy thinking you'll coast the league next season, as you thought last year, and the year before, and the year before. There's an obvious "Boom-bust" cycle emerging at your club, where "Next year is our year", but you don't see it. Does that sound familiar?

Does he realise what he has said

Totally believable too. I think you've cracked it first time.

Yep nothing screams a Rawk manc mate post more than one with added unnecessary information, just for that bit of extra authenticity.
 exactly what I was thinking, plus, Manc friend knows everything there is to know about football, so therefor he is more than competent to talk about ManUtd.

If you read the bold part without punctuation it's better. Like you're trying to fit it all in one breath before you get to the relevant part.

From their UCL qualifiers thread

Of course actually being in the CL will be amazing and is what we need but if we feck it up and lose the qualifier a) we'd hopefully have got our targets with the premise of CL football and b) we'd have no European football as a distraction.

So much irony in one sentence

So, trying to figure this out. They want to trick players into signing for them by promising the world then reality sets in?

I can't wait until they got out early and we get to see how it's all part of the plan and the process and in fact it's actually a step forward meanwhile we go marching on and it's further proof we are miles behind them.

wouldn't they go straight into the europa league if they lost their CL qualifier?

Meanwhile, here's what the Liverpool final is remembered for:

Surely not. If 4th placed from a group doesn't, why would those not qualifying?

I hope they qualify so we watch the meltdown once they have to play twice a week with that squad.

Nah they do I think. If you lose CL qualifier you goto Europa

Seriously? Awesome!

I suppose there's logic in it as Arse get Europa and 4th just gives you a shot at qualifying for CL. Would be a bit crap indeed if there was no fallback.

That group fourth doesn't is just because they've had enough games and there's no point them stinking up the place any longer.

I checked yesterday, all Champions League Play-Off losers go straight into the Europa League Group Stage.

I think the reasoning is that it's a bit unfair for a team that missed out on CL qualification doesn't get to play any European football that season if they lose one qualifying game, whilst a team that finished a place below them in the league is guaranteed at least 6 group matches.

If you finish 4th in your CL group, you've played at least 6 CL games anyway.

Edit: Just had a look and if you lose in the 3rd Qualifying Round of the CL you get put into the EL Play-Off Round too.

If ever there was an English team who will lose the CL qualifier it's them.

"As for Man Utd, we have absolutely nothing to be worried about. They are still playing sh1t hoof-ball, all of their players are now serial divers, and even players like Mkhitaryan and Mata have turned into complete thugs, fouling the opponents with intention to injure them. Their transformation under Maureen is complete, and the only way for them is down."

"The worst team ever from England to get into champions league" (always a RAWK classic.....worst (insert league/cup/ etc) ever)

"For the most expansive side assembled, winning the UEFA League and the League Cup against the opposition they played, is nothing special."

Thugs and divers. Classic Rawk

I remember Standard Liege was perilously close to wining a CL qualifier against them in 2008.
0-0 away and then 1-0 at home but in the same campaign we beat Real Madrid 5-0 on Aggregate 1-0 away and 4-0 at home eventually going out to Chelsea in the Quarters. So what's your point. We had to come through the qualifying round 04/05 and ended up winning the thing for a fifth time. If you can get through the group stage then anything is possible once it becomes a knock out round

"This rule about the EL winner getting immediate access to the CL group stage is ridiculous already and yesterday proves it needs to be abolished immediately. Now watch them b@stards throw in 500 million this summer.

BBC said:
Liverpool have been given the chance to defend their Champions League crown after Uefa handed them a place in the first qualifying round for next season. The Reds beat AC Milan in last season's final but, because they finished out of the Premiership's top four, were not guaranteed entry in 2005-2006.

Uefa's executive committee changed its rules on Friday to allow Liverpool in.

"We wish to express our thanks to those who supported us and campaigned," said chief executive Ivor Portfolio.

Edited that for you.
