RAWK Goes Into Meltdown 2016-17 Edition

" Two things are infinite, the universe and scousers' delusion, and I am not sure about the former" Albert Einstein

 What a find! How the feck did you track that down?
Was just browsing the old newsgroups archive :D

Another great prediction made during the 97/98 season
Next year United will face hard reality. No eurocups, no success in
England, few sell-out matches, problems in management and more. The
dream is over. Reality'll be cruel.

Heh, VDS post was from 1999, given his two seasons at juve, they were spot on actually

0-0 away and then 1-0 at home but in the same campaign we beat Real Madrid 5-0 on Aggregate 1-0 away and 4-0 at home eventually going out to Chelsea in the Quarters. So what's your point. We had to come through the qualifying round 04/05 and ended up winning the thing for a fifth time. If you can get through the group stage then anything is possible once it becomes a knock out round

A sweet little rant  his point was pretty clear-it's not beyond the realms of possibility for you to get knocked out in the qualifiers. Actually you only supported that by pointing to a time where you almost got knocked out in the qualifiers despite having one of your strongest sides in the PL era (a team that dicked Real as you said) -if that side was run close who's to say it couldn't happen again!

I done us a bit of a map, so as to enable full appreciation of the imaginary-ness of this one these two.

I was living on an island in the summer of 2005. I watched this game at Cafe Soito, Praia do Norte, Faial, Azores. It is a small village of white houses with orange roofs, and packed with Benfica fans. Benfica won the Portuguese league championship that year and the day they won it Cafe Soito was jam packed with people partying and celebrating. On May 25th the bar was empty except for me and a few friends. My two Manc supporting friends stayed home to watch the first half, and naturally showed up at half time to rub it in. "Liverpool are an embarassment", and "what a shame they made it this far; too bad Milan aren't playing a GOOD team" they said.

Poor Johnno, disappointment after a Europe League final two years in a row

Why the feck would a "United supporter" be disappointed and walk out of the pub with 15 minutes to go if Liverpool are losing a final?

I haven't watched a Champions League game since our game with Basel. And the same before that season with Fiorentina in 2009. The Champions League without Liverpool is like going to a concert, only to watch the backing singers. So glad our presence makes this competition a big deal again.

Feck me how delusional are they, they must be a bunch of 10 year olds on there.

Impossible for him to be there. Liverpool fans can't afford to fly south or further than Alicante, Spain.

Lies.

I see the official merchandise site is selling Made-up Manc Mates.

Perisic is a mid table level player. So perfect for them

Love it when they call us a mid-table team after one season.
This is their last 10 seasons compared to ours.
Season----Liverpool - United
2007–08 4th ------- 1st
2008–09 2nd ------- 1st
2009–10 7th ------- 2nd
2010–11 6th ------- 1st
2011–12 8th ------- 2nd
2012–13 7th ------- 1st
2013–14 2nd ------- 7th
2014–15 6th ------- 4th
2015–16 8th ------- 5th
2016–17 4th-------- 6th

They've finished above us twice.
I could go back further. They've finished above us 3 times since 1992. 3/25 is not bad.

Absolutely it could happen again, just hope if it does we end up with the same end result in the comp.
It will be good to see five English teams in next seasons Champions League hopefully one of us will get to the final, and we all go far enough to secure that fourth Champions League spot in the Premier League for the foreseeable future

Made-up Gooner Mate™ ahoy:

RAWK said:
An Arsenal supporting mate of mine was goading me at FT saying how Gooners had better season. Told him to jog on. Few days ago he was all about Wenger out. I don't understand these fans who get happy with peanut cups and forget and forgive everything.

Michael Johnno Owen:

‘In The Past, You Couldn’t Say No’ – Micheal Owen Says Players Won’t Prefer Joining Liverpool Anymore

http://thekoptimes.com/2017/05/29/i...layers-wont-prefer-joining-liverpool-anymore/

Is Michael eyeing the ambassadorship switch to United? Started when he blared out his 'come get me' statement of 'we' during the Europa Finals. I can also assume pays more.
Its getting to a brick like level of subtlety now.
