Karim Benzema is still 29, so he has about 2-3 seasons, at least, at the top of Madrid's attack. I know Morata is good, but I don't think he is that good to overtake his spot. If Morata wants to be the main man, he should be looking elsewhere. However, he could be a bit delusional and decide to stay and fight for that spot. IMO, odds are he will have to endure a season like the last and then he'll find peace in the fact he can't cut it past Benzema. I guess time is on his side, since he's still so young.
Morata really doesn't wanna come here, does he? Seems to me him and his agent are sending 'come get me' signals to Italy but aren't doing the same for us. He's essentially praying an Italian team takes the bait, but would probably begrudgingly join us....

Shadow Moon Hafez would do well to remember the Ronaldo "I stay, I stay" quote following our CL victory in '08. I'm still hopeful.

As much as I dislike Costa, I agree he's better than Lukaku. But as much as I agree on that, I think Lukaku is good enough to be able to slot in that Chelsea team. These two are very much alike and I think even if Romelu struggles in the beginning he can grow in the position and will bang 20 goals in the PL by the end of the season. Which keeping in mind that Hazard and Pedro come up with 15 goals on average, would be good for Chelsea.
You just know we'd have Morata pining over Madrid every year he's year, it got tiresome with Ronaldo, you could tolerate it with him because he was obviously a class above everyone bar Messi, wouldn't want to put up with the constant moaning by an above average player.

Real are asking 80 to 90 million for him, that is a price tag for a world class player who is a first team player in his team, not a substitute. We can easily go for Aubameyang who is a starter and is better than Morata.
Again the talk about Aubameyang - yes he is a good striker, but he is not the kind of striker that Jose will build his team around. Is there anyone who can name me a successful Jose team which was built around a striker like Aubameyang or Lacazette? If Morata played for Dortmund or a team of similar level, and not in Madrid, he will be a starter too.
Looks like Morata thing could be sorted in coming days, we are easily his best destination if he wants to play games. Milan seem to pursuing other things, Chelsea too.
Whether it gets sorted in the next couple days is probably down to fee and power struggle. I know some people here think we should just cough up the 80m or whatever but that style of negotiation simply isn't realistic. I know people say we paid 90 for Pogba but actually we only paid Juve like 55 or so, clearly there was some negotiation.

Offer him a pay-as-you-play deal for next season. It'd be a fair deal given the circumstances IMO.
If he does well then it'd probably be worth it, I'm talking about having a player at the level of Mata crying for Barca every interview even though Barca would never want him.
Could you imagine having a player who'd constantly want to go to another club, only being at United because he's not good enough for the other? I know not all players who play for United support us obviously, but Morata seems like the vocal type judging by the recent interviews, I say we should stand well clear.

Actually, a lot of Madrid fans called for Morata to lead the line ahead of Benzema this last season. The word out there is that Zidane is biased for Benzema and Ronaldo also sees him as his ideal attacking partner. Without those factors, Morata would have had a very fair shot at that center forward position judging by his good performances whenever he played. Having said that, nothing should be taken away from Benzema's quality. He had his difficult spells during the season but he delivered enough to convince everyone of his capability.
I am convinced Morata will shine at United if we sign him. He ticks so many boxes for us: height, pace, technical skills, eye for goals, youthfulness etc.

Morata scored 12 goals in Serie A and 20 goals for Real this season. Belloti has more goals than Morata this season and I saw a tweet in this thread which said they want 56 million for Belloti. I would take Morata if he was available for less than 50 million.
I feel you but at times people begrudgingly go somewhere to work but end up thanking their stars that they ended up there.
Totally agree with you and I also think he could strike a good partnership with Rashford. However he seems like he's made his mind he wants to be in Madrid.
It kind of feels like ... back in 2003, you're in a mobile phone shop and there's this phone with so many functions, the battery lasts so long and you can do so much with it, but there's also that crappy phone that can't do much, but it looks so fecking cool and you know you should be going for the better option, but that crappy phone just looks so cool you can't take your eyes off of it.
That's the analogy I feel it's most appropriate for Morata's situation. I am not citing ourselves as the multi functional phone, but we could be one of his destinations.

He has played in all the major leagues so far with the exception of Bundesliga. I can see him moving to Dortmund to replace Aubameyang for a season.
