I'm getting sick of wasting my time watching YouTube videos only for the move not to happen. I've already persuaded myself that Morata is good.
Good, that's the correct decision - we might as well try and solve the striking situation for the next 5 years NOW. We hang around for Zlatan and it causes us all kinds of problems. Loved having him here, and he was excellent, but even without the injury I'd have been in favour of moving him on.
Either he's good enough or he isn't, what difference does it make (football-wise) if he costs 50 or 70 million? If he's not good enough then the fact we get him for £20 million cheaper means feck all... And of he is good enough then £70 million is probably around the going rate (like it or not).
Do you really think we'll be going into the season with just Rashford as a striker? Jesus wept
Sarcasm? given that it's June 8th and deals aren't usually finished by June 8th?
Sometimes you have to think the club know what they're doing.
Baseless speculation here...
I am afraid as soon as Zlatan got injured every club on the planet knew we would be desperate for strikers. We just have to bite the bullet. Griezmann staying at Atletico has thrown a spanner in the works. We just have to get on with it and try to get the best deal we can.Obviously I'm the ultimate stress-head and pessimist, this has already been established, but it seems like most of the decent striking options are going elsewhere, not moving, or being priced out of the market. We're not getting Kane, Aubameyang is going to PSG, Lukaku is off to Chelsea, Bellotti is being slapped with an insane price tag, Morata too by the looks of it. If we decide not to retain Zlatan, it makes it clear that we need a new striker badly and reduces our bargaining hand too. Hopefully I've missed an obvious signing we're going to make, but I think our best chance is Morata and I really don't think he'll be allowed to leave on the cheap. I also think he's reluctant to move and we could do with someone who wants to be here.
It is. Zlatan is the last person you would expect to go out with a whimper.Sad end to Zlatans affair with us![]()
70 million or more is the going rate for world class players like Pogba. Would you pay $70,000 for a car which costs $50,000? We have other key positions also to fill and we don't know how much money Jose can spend, we have already spent lots of money since SAF left and we are still struggling to finish in the top four. And regarding Aubameyang, was Mkhitaryan a Jose type of player? Was Pogba a Jose type of player? There are plenty of players in our team currently like Herrera and Mata who aren't your typical Jose type players but they still get selected every game. I prefer Aubameyang rather than Morata. We need a striker who can score 20 to 30 goals and Aubameyang can get those, I am not sure if Morata can do that.
We would have all of a day to sign him without Real "finding out" lol. Chill.I hope our sources who Sky find can shut the feck up for once. Not a good time to say Zlatan will not get a new contract if we have not someone lined up.
If I was Torino or Real I would say £80M for Morata / Belotti or no deal.
poor decision since it seems like we might not be getting a striker in....
It might have for Torino and Real when they now know for sure Zlatan won't be here and our sources has said that we want a number nine. I knew I would make it difficult for United if I was having a striker the club wanted.
But we only tend to play with one striker and we would already have Rashford and Martial who could play there, in addition to a new signingWe now probably need to buy 2 strikers. Still need a winger a centre back and a central midfielder...
Heart doesn't like it, head agrees. And what makes you so sure that Aubameyang will score 30 goals in England? Of course Pogba is a Jose player - why would he be willing to sanction a world record fee if he is not? Mkhi is a Jose player - he works his socks off and was always contributes defensively. This is something that I think Aubameyang lacks. What makes Aubemeyang world class and Morata not? Aubameyang has never expressed any desire to join us, and Jose does not know him personally like he does with Morata. Herrera and Mata were not bought by Jose, so yes, maybe they are not his kind of players, but both of them, Herrera in particular, have responded well to Jose and upped their game this season.
We can't just buy the players who score the most goals, or won the most tackles, or made the best saves - we need to buy the players that the manager feels he can work best with, and will help the TEAM best, over someone who on paper seems to be a better player BUT a worse fit. We know Jose wants Morata because we have BID for him, so let's trust Jose and let him get the players he wants.

20 timesLads and ladies, it's June 8th.
Now say this to yourself 20 times.
Target for the season - 25+ drawswho needs goals![]()
Selling club will happily add a few more millions to the price of his replacement nowOdd considering we haven't even signed his replacement yet.
2? I don't think we'll bring in 2 strikers. Maybe a No 10, but only if one of Rooney or Mata or both leave. If we are not offering him a contract, then surely we're super confident of signing 2 strikers.
Morata has told he wants to stay in Real Madrid not once but twice, he will leave as soon as some other team comes knocking. The stats show that Aubameyang is a better player and he has pace which will be useful for Jose's counter attacking style. What makes you so sure that Morata will score 30 goals? He has scored 15 goals for Real in a less competitive league and 12 goals in Serie A. Teams defend better in the EPL than in La Liga. If Morata was that good he would have been starting instead of Benzema. If you Morata is good enough fine. Let's see how well he plays if we sign him.

And no one knew who he is. I'm expecting another Bailly type of signing, were everyone will cry for no getting galaxtico player, and at the end of season, or even before, new guy being everyone' favorite. #trustjose.Wasn't Bailly our first signing last summer, on June 8th, and everyone was delighted we got off to such a fast start?

Yeah, a new signing and an improving Rashford (and Martial in emergencies). We're not going to have more than that for one space in the team. Fergie used to roll with four strikers but that was when we played two of them not one. It's more the creative players (or lack of them) in and around the striker that we've been lacking. We already struggled to score last season with those 2 and Ibra and Rooney. We need to replace those. 1 top quality striker who starts, and 1 which is happy to be a squad player.
United would be nuts to extend his current deal given his injury. We don't need to give him a new contract because his current contract has an option to extend for a year....

Why would we be crazy to extend him a year knowing he'll be fit before the start of next year?United would be nuts to extend his current deal given his injury.
First I've heard of that, I know we were only waiting on Zlatan to sort his end of activating that extra year clause.I think that option had a deadline at the end of 2016 or something.
Vardy?
Said this the other day. Martial is a bit shit, has the odd OK game but really looked crap last season. Vardy can fly past defenders, Martial always plays the ball against their legs. Imagine how frightened defenders would be with Pogba playing a ball through and Vardy&Rashford bearing down on them.Rather play Rashford or Martial

Whilst you make some valid points, you forget one key piece of logic. This is a forum. It's a platform for people to exchange opinions and ideas. So you are bound to get a diverse range of answers and thoughts on a subject matter.Of course Morata wants to stay if possible - Real are 2 times UCL winners, la liga winners with the best players in the world. However, Morata has to move if he wants to be a first choice striker. Stats as in total goals scored? Of course Auba scored more - he played many more minutes than Morata. Morata is also 3 years younger and still has room to improve even further. While he is not Auba quick, he is still quite pacy for a man of his build. As mentioned, if Morata was playing in most other teams, he would be starting too. Zidane has no need to change Benzema for him as there was no need to reinvent the wheel - they were winning well with Benzema's link play with CR7. Teams also defend better in the PL than the Bundesliga - look at Mkhi's goals return compared to his previous season in Germany.
At the end of the day, Jose is the one who makes the decision. It seems that he has decided on Morata, and I agree with him and I want the move to go through as soon as possible so that we can move on to other targets to continue improving the team. You and others may think that other strikers are more worth the money, but we fans are not Woodward or Jose, so I think we should all stop with the "better to spend the money on so and so". I rather look at the targets that Jose has identified, hope to see these transfers done ASAP and than analyse how they will shape and improve our team next season.
You need to stop playing fifa and think you're watching a game.¿Qué?
Martial is very comfortably the best at dribbling and all manipulation out of the three. You need to go and play 'Need for Speed'.

Anyway, regarding Morata, I personally am not a fan of him. He seems like a Jack of All trades kind of player. But if Mourinho is hell bent on bringing him here, then so be it.
Yeah I'm expecting at least 1-2 of our signings to be players we haven't been linked that strongly with. The media has no clue. As long we're done before pre-season, it doesn't matter if it happens today or the day before we fly out.And no one knew who he is. I'm expecting another Bailly type of signing, were everyone will cry for no getting galaxtico player, and at the end of season, or even before, new guy being everyone' favorite. #trustjose.
It's not about a bigger name, atleast not for me. It's about buying the right players. Morata to me doesn't seem to fit that vacuum left by Zlatan. Especially if the Perisic rumours are true, Mourinho wants us to play a counter attacking brand of football. Auba would suit that perfectly. Not suggesting Morata is slow or anything, his acceleration is very good, but he's not at Auba's level. I would be thrilled if we got Aubemayang, but it's very unlikely to happen.Fair enough. I just don't see the logic in bringing a 'bigger' name even though we haven't been linked to them or they don't seem to fit in with what I have observed about Jose's successful teams. Well, Jose may just surprise us and get Auba - and I will be more than happy too since it means that we have a good striker on our hands and maybe Jose wants to change his blueprint for success.
