One more striker off the market then. Only morata and belotti left. Have to say both us and arsenal have done a smart thing by solving our number 9 issue. Chelsea have to act fast or else they are in trouble.
Yes, like I said only 2 left in morata and belotti. I don't think many clubs are willing to match Torino's price for him. It's similar to perisic deal, sounds straight forward but it is not.
Following on from the exciting news of our Tractor Partnership.....Perisic boards the flight to China...
but midway through the flight...
somewhere over Tibet the plane is suddenly flanked by 2 F22 Raptors....
What are those red markings on the Tailplane of the fighters?
The pilot of one of the raptors flicks up his mirrored visor to reveal.....
"Maverick" Woodward announces over the radio...."target locked"...."Firing Fox 44"
A flash of light and a briefcase full of cash is fired through the emergency exit of the plane....
Suddenly a grinning Perisic leaps out of the plane!
oh no!
he's falling to his doom....
Pow! a massive parachute unfurls with a Message printed on it....
Ivan Perisic...Brought to You by Qatar Airways... Proud new Airline partner of Manchester United!
"maverick" Woodward waxes his wings in celebration and begins to fly away....
"This is Maverick....target acquired....next waypoint North London...Full burn!"
* cue rousing rendition of "Highway to the danger zone"*

The complications with Perisic are presumably a result of us haggling. No haggling with Torino - I could see Chelsea paying the full £89m late in the window, once all other options are exhausted.

There is no guarantee Chelsea or any other club would pay £89 million for him. Like I said there are not many other options , if Chelsea wanted to buy him, they would have acted by now. Not saying they won't pay but it is clear every club is hesitant in paying such a huge money for a one season wonder striker.
The release clause just puts the maximum value foreign clubs would have to pay at €100m. Torino can potentially ask Milan for €200m for Belotti. My point being, the release clause doesn't mean clubs can't sell under that value and if Torino are asking foreign clubs for €100m, then they're almost definitely asking Milan the same, if not more.
Since there is such a lack of options for the wing position, hopefully we will secure his signature. Unless we have a better alternative lined up, which I sincerely doubt by the looks of things.

Maybe we received some positive news behind the scenes and are working on such a deal but to be honest, Madrid seem to be sceptical of doing any sort of business with us. I also recall an article from a few weeks ago stating Bale has no intention of leaving Madrid. I just hope we bring in 2 more players (Defensive midfielder & traditional winger).
