Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Name me one striker that converts all his chances. He doesn't exist and even if he did he wouldn't be Lukaku. Had Zlatan not been injured last season he'd probably have scored around 35 goals.

I don't say both Zlatan and Lukaku should take all chances, but at the same times there chances who are unmissable.

I'm not downplaying Zlatan efforts because if you don't know, I was his biggest defenders last season.

Hopefully the Martial stuff is as real as the advanced negotiations Di Marzio also said we were in for Fabinho.

Given Jose has took to starting Lingard on the left, plus Perisic playing there, I don't think we'd need another. Jose tends to play one or two all season in one position. If anything three is overkill.
DiMarzio never said we were in advanced talks for Fabinho but that we made a bid which was already far beyond what Juve were willing to offer. He obviously got that info from a Juve source to explain why Juve dropped their own interest

He get goals no one would have taken and missed some goals another striker might have scored, can go either way tbh. Zlatan's presence was immense and can't be denied, I defended him a lot last season but at the same time I think Lukaku currently can be more clinical.

Future will only tell.
So to summarise you're not sure despite what you said?

We are not signing any Spurs player and I hope we are no longer linked to any Spurs players because I'm sick of DADDY Glaston reminding us every time how great Spurs are and how little United mean in the football world.

I know right, it's very difficult to get what we WANT WANT WANT from them considering the ridiculous prices.

Never seen him play. Is he the heir to Schneiderlin as someone who can't quite cut it at the highest level but looks very good in a mid tier team?
From what I've seen, he's as good defensively as Schneiderlin, but he's better at bringing the ball forward. Slightly lacking technically, which could be the problem.

On the contrary the 3rd will be Perisic and I suspect Jose feels a DM is the lesser of the 4 needs given we do still have Carrick and Fellaini who can play in midfield with Herrera and Pogba
If the plan is to go with three in midfield that will surely take precedence. Neither of Carrick and Fellaini are good enough to start regularly for us now and signing Perisic is far from a necessity.

So United and Chelsea were interested in him without willing to pay for him? How does that work?

Talking about the crazy wages PSG have offered. We probably would have paid his clause but cannot match the wages

No it says the £195 mil release clause in the article. Probably expected they could offer less than this and Neymar to agitate for a move on his side.

Wishful thinking if what it meant is what GBBQ mentions. Most likely bs. Yes clubs were interested, many are but it doesn't mean anything.

Benzema is obviously way too under rated. That is understandable though considering his striking partner is Cristiano Ronaldo.

Apart from being a world class player himself, Benzema makes Ronaldo click in that Madrid team. It will be hard to pull him out for any Harry Kane.

Benzema is not getting younger and I did watch him last season and observed he is slowly losing his pace. If real were given the option of swapping benzema with kane, they will surely do.

Is that the plan though? We've seen little evidence of it thus far, we could easily be going with 4-2-3-1 or 3-5-2 next season

Absolutely puzzled that Danilo would agree to go to Man City. Does he enjoy sitting on the bench? Likewise, why would City spend 30m on a RB just days after spending 50m on another one?

Another one saying it now as well. If they get him on the cheap I will be furious.

Alvaro Morata moves on
We could see him at Old Trafford next season.

Swapping one bench for another.
Surprised to see RM paid so much for him, back when money was worth something in football.

Assuming he's not really kicked on since then? Hopefully he's got something about him.

This is a headscratcher for me. Not sure what Pep thinks he can do with a player that was an unmitigated disaster of a purchase by RM - this would be some serious magic by Guaridola to get much out of him
