Most fans of the sport over here know that this was a preseason friendly. It will be quickly forgotten once the season starts. The rags were always going to have 5 times the so-called number of "fans" in the stands and this "outcome" doesn't mean much. More worrying is that we don't have a left back and United seems to be building a Leicester circa 15-16 which we have struggled to beat. On the bright side, we outplayed their starting 11 bar the brain fart goals with 4-5 key players missing and Walker/ Ederson look real upgrades.

The delusion is still strong in that lot.

You really can't make this shit up...

What all this does to them is, as I say, easy to underestimate. They will have been under huge pressure not to lose. Winning is not so important because when all is said and done, it 's a friendly but they dared not risk being beaten by us. That is why their first XI played a City team comprising a collection of players just back from loan and academy products. It is why they played their first XI in the Carling cup against us last season.

As a club, at least at boardroom/senior management level, we are past worrying about them. They are (rightly) shit scared of us, and last night they showed it.

Here you guys. That's it, we've been rumbled...

its a friendly game and only the scum and the media can big up a win like last night game BUT

thank you jose and united you shown your hand to early that's the best of your squad for the coming season and facing a team that's not played a game this pre-season and is made up of players and youth and even players that maybe not being here come the first game of the season and you make a big issue about beating man city hahhahahahahaha last night shows us united will need a lot more to fight for top 4 place and what more as jose got up his sleeves NOTHING IF THAT'S THE BEST THEY CAN DO

manchester city pep just coasted and used the game for getting the legs going again but this is a first week manchester city team coming into pre-season and not 2 to 3 weeks in and played 3 games

its daft of jose and united to play that hand and if it was wanting to beat man city so bad in a friendly its show how much they think manchester city will be the team to beat and for me city looked good at times and we had players playing for the first time for city and pep so come the first game i think city will be ready and flying

They sound like your crazy ass ex-girlfriend who calls you after two years when she's being shagged by another guy to tell you that she doesn't really care about you, doesn't miss you and that he's got a longer cock.

I don't think there ever has been or ever will be a group of more bitter, delusional fans as them. I can't do much more than shake my head at some of their insane ramblings.

Sounds like you've lived an eventful life. :D

The "United 2017-18" thread on Bluemoon reached 200 pages today.

To put that into context;

Chelsea - 21
Liverpool - 9
Spurs - 4

This very thread, which is really more about laughing at City than talking about them has 352 pages and has been going since 2010

Do they genuinely care more about us than they do their own team/football in general? I can't think of one thing we have done, bar the pre-season friendly and the Lukaku signing that would even warrant more than a comment or two

Being fair they only have about 3 posts to a page.

I think they do. They're fecking OBSESSED with us.

Blimey, that is hard to read. It's like he's just punching the keyboard, but always missing the full-stop key.

Is anyone even bigging up the friendly win? Took me ages to even track down a highlights video. The BBC match report is pretty much 75% about Phil Foden, with just two sentences saying who scored.

Why are they so insistent on making things up?

They're so obsessed I wouldn't be surprised if at least 75% of that site had restraining orders against them.

There's a city fan at work who starts a conversation with the guy next to him about United at least once a week. I didn't even here him mention anything about city the while time he worked there until they got pep, which he tried to gloat about. But that still turned more into a United discussion cause he was more enthusiastic about how much he thought Jose would screw us up (in all fairness we won't know that till next season, could still be right).

How are they taking La Liga' stance to reject Neymar's deposit? Surely, they all fully behind PSG as this might have implications on their future transfer activity if these fictional commercial deals won't fly with UEFA anymore? Rags having a hand in it?

just had a look and nothing really going on, a couple saying FPP should be stopped, most saying if we get Suarez then PSG getting Neymar that their net spend is lower than ours so la liga can do one, but some thinking (and I'd possibly agree) that it's as much political posturing with Qatar Tourist board buying out the contract for Neymar to be the 2022 Ambassador which is a different thing altogether than PSG actually purchasing him from Barca.

The highlighted part is that bothers me too mostly and not PSG actually landing him. It sets incredible precedent for third parties (that may have little to do with football but hold connections with owners of the said club) to splash billions on players clauses if they wish to allowing players to join clubs on the free without buying club breaching any kind of FPP rules or any others for that matter.

The delusion & denial is strong in most over there.

They have "sponsorship" with Qatar Tourism Authority for €100m a year that boosts their commercial revenue. Dodgy as hell.

I'm sure I heard a French journalist on talksh*t recently describe the main sponsors of PSG ,ie the Qatar tourism authority as 'an arm of government'.
Surely this constitutes 'state aid' which is forbidden under UEFA rules?

City are more corrupt than PSG as their dodgy dealings encompass many clubs rather than just one.
