Yeah, but we dont have infinite resources. We cant pay 500m on him the next 5 years, it is not something any club would do, except a sugar daddy one. We have to find players like him before they turn out superstars or form them ourselves.

Fair enough. But what if it would help in attaining multiple trophies over those five years. For example, at least two PLs and one CL. Would that not make the investment worth it?

35m  no money left after going for Neymar?

Think they need at least 50m minimum to have a shot at getting him. Sanchez can obviously ask for a big contract, look at Neymar

They refuse to spend less than £50K on a defender
£50K wouldn't get you much tbf. I'd be willing but I can't defend and wouldn't last longer than 10 minutes that's what she said

Rashford is young and on a long term contract; playing for the club he's supported since he was born and the club that gave him his breakthrough and in the Champions League. Playing for a manager that trusts him, and with a chance of winning trophies every year. Adored by fans in one of the world's premier stadiums. Why would he want to leave? There's no chance of him leaving, unless the club wants him out.*

*I accept the above post comes across a bit Glaston-esque.

Unless you are a city fan, what they have done with their lottery win over the last 7 years has been dire for world football. More so than Chelsea, Monaco, Madrid and PSG put together.

It is inevitable now in my opinion that they will be spending 300 - 500 million every summer now until they find a mega squad that can win the CL

Worst thing to happen to football in the modern era.

It's all correct though.

Not one bit excited by Matic, he's more of a Schneiderlin type player than a proper dm and I think he'll go exactly the same way

He is much better with the ball than Morgan, and screened Kante well last season.

Feck it, I'm fine if we sign Matic, I don't particularly care about fees - he's obviously not a terrible player, probably going to be much better for us than we think.

Didn't really watch Chelsea last year but for a few years before Matic dominated midfield and broke down attack after attack. Surely exactly what we want if we want to free up Pogba and Herrara?

He is a multiple PL winner.

Schneiderlin was in League 1 two seasons prior.

So was Dele Alli before joining Spurs, odd thing to say when he clearly proved at Southampton that he belonged at PL level. I actually think Schneiderlin has more to his game than Matic, he covers a lot more ground and has similar, if not better ability on the ball. Not to mention he's a few years younger, £20m for him seems like a bargain for Everton now.

The point is; Matic has been key to winning league titles. Schneiderlin's highs cannot compare to Matic.

That was two seasons ago, last season he was more likely to get subbed off for Fabregas than boss the midfield. It's an obscene amount of money for a player whose best days are probably behind him.

Schneiderlin went into his shell at United, Matic has won the league twice in 3 years with Chelsea.

Remember back in 2011 ish when our fans moaned the Glazers never spend big on players?

Now we finally get the debit card out and some of you still moan.

Just enjoy the football and see us challenge - Jose got this.

Matic behind Pogba and Herrera

Not convinced on Matic, seems we don't really have any interest in any DM's apart from Dier and Matic which is a bit odd. Hopefully they perform better than we all expect though.

Spending huge money on Fabinho is more wise than on Matic if Both are available and gettable.
