2017 Pre Season | Vålerenga vs Manchester United

I don't really get Lindelof, is it just me that thought he was a left sided centre back? I assumed he would be starting on the left with Bailly on the right but in most pre season games he seems to be on the right.
If we were after a right sided cb I'd have just brought Keane home.

There is so much more fluency with this 352. It's a breath of fresh air - when considering the shite we've been watching for the past 3/4 years.
It's a bit better. Still not seeing fantastic attacking football, exactly.

The other chance is he was bought to be the ball playing centerback on the right, only starting as Bailly's shadow.

Possibly yeah, seems pointless to me though bringing in a pretty big money centre back to sit on the bench when Tuanzebe and TFM look pretty capable.

Im pretty worried about this Lindelof Smalling combo. They seem to be marking the same player most of the time.

Lindelof has a strong preference for the right side, according to someone who watched all of Benfica's games in the last seasons.

Yeah, only Luisão was forcing him to play on the left of center.

I really do like the look of Axel Tuanzebe. He's never fazed.

Seems that way yeah! Be interesting to see if Bailly plays on the left with him or something, with Rojo being out for a while.

That's still no excuse for us being utterly incompetent at creating chances, never mind scoring goals. We look as threatening in the final third as sponge cake.

You are really taking pre-season games way too seriously.

It's a time to try things out, test, observe, note, assess players, assess roles, take chances, give every player game time, try tactical options etc. The number of teams that have looked bad in pre-season but went on to win titles, is countless. I am not saying there should be no cause for concern, just saying that pre-season is about exposing those concerns to managers and players. The good ones go on to fix them when the real contests begin and there is the massive motivation to win.

That's lovely play from Tuanzebe, we need to see that more from our players, forcing it a little bit more.

You can't beat the enthusiasm of youth.

I'm hoping to see most of these in Dublin. They are hungry to succeed, which makes for a better friendly.

Instead of kicking players, A.Pereira should be trying to create some attacks.

Axel is going to be such a great player.
The transfer market has gone mad recently so hopefully we see some of these talented youngsters over the next few years.
