I doubt he's a backup option, he's clearly got more potential than Coutinho. Coutinho at 20/21 was nothing on Alli. Hell I'd say Alli is better than him right now. I'd say it's moreso that Countinho is more obtainable.

Eriksen's running the game for Spurs. This is how I want Mourinho to play Mata. Give him a free role, whilst Valencia gets up and down the right. Get Mkhi as a 10, making runs behind Rom and Rashford/Martial on the left to give us that direct play.
How often last season would Zlatan drop deep like Kane does here but we'd have no one sprint into the box like Alli?

I'd probably take Eriksen over Coutinho too, though. I guess Barca just know that if they come knocking for a Brazilian they'll more than likely get them.
Eriksen is a lovely player, but not sure where he will fit in out team given that we are looking more for wide players.
