Cristiano Ronaldo - performances 2017/18

Thank feck he got to score after that clown of a ref gave that pen, obviously he shouldn't had to be sent off either. If they get to review the game the correct thing to do would be to revoke his yellow, as it wasn't a dive and to book Suárez (he's the one who deserved a yellow), and let him play. It won't happen though so I think he will only get one game sanction.

The Ballon D'Or is already him but I hope he maintains his hunger and sharpness and we get to manage him like last season so he is able to close the season strong, so it could take a while for him to reach full fitness as he doesn't have any game rhythm at all. His contribution today has been fantastic given the shit ref of today.

Considering what Neymar got to ensure he misses Classico, this has to be a 3 game ban Atleast. You just can't shove a ref in anger. It's a basic rule.
In la liga it is a minimum of 4 games up to a maximum of 12.

So he will miss the first two games of La Liga, the ref though should be dropped by La Liga like they have with a few others, incredibly inept performance for such a grand stage.

Mate, he imitated Messi. He took his shirt off and showed the Jersey to the fans. That's Messi's iconic celebration from last season's 2-3 win at Bernabeu.

I'm talking about him lifting his shirt, genius.
(stupid rules won't let me embed images)
As if anyone on this Manchester United forum isn't biased about Ronaldo
Ahh I see what you mean now I didn't see him holding up the shirt I was a bit busy watching the goal replay :D

I didn't catch the match, but what did he do to get the red card?

He scored a goal and took his shirt off, that was the first yellow. The second one was because of 'diving' which was pretty harsh given the referee had conceded a more blatant and shameful dive to Suárez as a pen. It didn't look like a pen but it also didn't look like something to deserve a booking for diving.

Cheers mate. Congrats for the win over Barca!

If Ronaldo is skinny Messi must be invisible.
I know it's tradition to get the cocks out when it's Ronaldo but come on, Messi is "fat" compared to Ronaldo, certainly looks like he's beefier. Ronaldo has much lower body fat which makes him look skinnier than Messi

Did he hold up the jersey like Messi did? Or was that just photoshopped?

Saw the picture making the rounds on Facebook but can't seem to find a video of it.

Never mind I found a live video and Marcelo told him to do it.

Will miss the first 4 league games: Depor, Valencia, Levante and Real. Bale needs to step up. He often did in the past

As for the ref, i'd say he was unlucky. Will be crucified for a difficult call he got wrong(suarez dive) and an easier one(red card). Did well until the dive actually. Linesmen were perfect, too. VAR would've been good for this game

There should not be any further punishment for that shove on the ref. There was hardly anything in it. He was just surprised by the decision. I remember Arda Turan throwing a shoe at the assistant referee and he just got a yellow card for it!

His goals to big games ratio this year is the best in his career. Declining.

What a goal. What a celebration. What a cameo.

No, Ronaldo has more muscle mass. If you go that low on BF with little muscle mass you'll end up looking like Chris Froome.

Seemed like a fitting celebration after all the boos he got

Here's the video since you can't post it. It was actually Marcelo who told him to hold up the shirt

Longer video

I assume it's nonsense that he will get banned for 12 games for the shove? Madrid wouldn't let that happen. Would be a bit funny though.

Shouldn't be banned. The red card itself should be challenged if anything.

Neymar was banned for 3 games last season for ironically clapping the ref. Ronaldo should get one more than Neymar for pushing the ref. Not more than 4 because it wasn't a violent push or anything.

The fact that the refree was wrong might sway the decision.
So any time a referee makes a wrong decision he can be shoved.

Ronaldo should get a ban simple as that; otherwise referees will lose the little respect they have. The ban should be more than a normal red card. So 4-5 games.

Will probably only get 4, if that.
Will get that for sure since ref included it in his report. It was light enough that it shouldn't warrant more than the minimum imho, and he's Cristiano. We'll probably manage to bring it down to 3 with the appeal

Any update on the ref's condition? Is he still in the hospital? Ronaldo should go to jail for assault tbh.

This part doesn't really makes sense does it ?

he didn't concede a dive to Suarez, he thought it was a penalty so gave a penalty. whether Ronaldo deserved a red for his dive is a completely different matter that has nothing to do with suarez'.

If he saw a dive from the Barça player and didn't give a yellow, you would have a point. but he gave a penalty so didn't think it was a dive.

No that's not what I said. I'm saying the punishment won't be that harsh because they'll use the arguement that the refree was wrong. Whoever is making the decision will obviously take that into consideration.
