Supercopa de Espana | Real Madrid / Barcelona

He shouldn't have pushed him but seems a bit harsh. Funny that the ref makes a major error and Ronaldo loses 5 games for it. Ref will go again next weekend.

It definitely is harsh on us to some extent. Ronaldo is still in pre-season form right now so it was unlikely he was going to play full 90 minutes in all those games, although it would have been better to have him available, use him if the game gets though and give him some minutes so he regains fitness and game rhythm faster.

So it might not seem this is going to affect Real Madrid badly, and if you consider the push he gave to the ref as an isolated event then it seems like the right decision, but in the great scheme of things the ref got cost us a goal and he shouldn't have booked Ronaldo to begin with. So he cost us a goal, we had to end the game playing with 10 men and now they're banning Ronaldo 5 games and all by his bad decisions.

Dios nos pille confesados en el juego de vuelta. :nervous:

Madness to think if the ref had done his job correctly it would have ended 11 vs. 11 and 4-0 Real Madrid (Barca's being wrong, Ronaldo's "dive" being wrong). Anyway, Atletico is my La Liga team so I'll take a 5-game ban for Ronaldo

Has somebody else already mentioned, how is that possible? Both scored 1 goal yesterday

Iniesta has also made comments on how odd it was with so many madridistas at Camp Nou last night. It certainly felt like half of the arena was celebrating Cristiano's and Asensio's goals. Makes you believe that if Real Madrid were not the opponent then at least 1/3 of the arena would have been empty. And at this moment, #BartomeuDimiteYa is being one of the twitter trends.

I think Barca is mainly in state of shock due to the sell of neymar and the whole team is unsettled due to that transfer going through and I reckon none of them actully wanted to see the transfer go through and i don't believe that any of them believed it would go through before it was to late so all of this comes probably as shock to them or unsettled the entire team.

I don't think they have realized what happened nor have they moved on from such a disasters transfer which was against their interests and they absolutely didn't want that transfer to go through by any means necessary and it seems like the club's hand have been forced or let me put it this way it was a transfer by force rather then anything. Neymar was forced out of their hands because they didn't want the money and he was valuble to them.

I think the only way they can move forward and get over this unfortunate incident is to buy 2 or 3 classy players and I won't mind seeing Dembele, Coutinho and Hazard all 3 joining barca in this transfer and I have been hearing rumours that it seems like Hazard is the closests of happening right now then they can follow up with Dembele then coutinho then I think barca could come out of this incident as the winners.

Barca is in state of depression due to the neymar transfer and the media circus that followed which have unsettled the players and coming into this match the team was low on moral and the same with the fans. It is as if a funeral happened in the camp nou in this period of time but as time moves on and new players come in things will comeback to normal again but they have to act quickly before the window closes and they still have time.

I have no doubt in my mind barca would have beaten Madrid if neymar was there and the whole incident didn't happen then barca would have come in mentally prepared with high moral but the entire timing of the match didn't even fit barca. This was the worst timing for barca in any classico match and even the madrid players knew this that they were playing against a wounded and depressed barca team with low moral..

Reading this post made me feel like I was stuck in a time warp.

They still didn't assimilate the 3-1 and tomorrow the second match in Madrid.
We should get advantage of their poor condition and our moral and give them finally a good beating.
I like Valverde and I'm sure that he'll know how to use the squad but right now they are Messi, Suárez and Rakitic.

When a Madrid fan says this, this is what they're thinking:

I love how the Spanish big 2 still have a number of fans under their spell.
If they sign Coutinho, Dembele and Hazard they'll be ok...really? Is that all? There is no law that says these clubs have an automatic right to replace world class stars with world class stars

Barcelona got in behind the full-backs a lot on Sunday. A more direct no 9 would have buried at least a couple of those cross/shots across the face of the goal.

We still haven't returned the favour for the 6-2. Time to adress that i think

We should beat them so bad, that dortmund and liverpool will slap an extra €50M on dembele and coutinho

When a Madrid fan says this, this is what they're thinking:

Yes,exactly that. They destroyed us with Romario in 93-94 and a year later we balanced the situation.I loved the excitement of Valdano's arrival. However from the 2-6 and the 5-0 to Mourinho we haven't showed a true superiority.

I remember having long arguments with people in those days about Zamorano being better than Salas! In retrospect, what a useless way to spend ones time.

I had a lot of admiration for Real Madrid back in those days. More than Cruyff's dream team in fact. The dream team played better football but Madrid had more of an aura.

Zidane's great achievement is restoring Madrid's aura. Strangely enough Florentino's Galacticos policy damaged that. Big names came in but Madrid stopped feeling like the standard bearer for Spanish football. In the past Madrid always had the best Spanish players, and was an identifiably Spanish team. Yes, it also added the best players from around the world, but it was principally the Spanish team.

Florentino's foreign imports damaged that and for a good while Barcelona had the best Spanish players. Now though you have Isco, you have all the youngsters coming through like Asensio, you have the guys you signed this summer like Theo Hernandez and Dani Ceballos, and all of a sudden Real Madrid feels like Real Madrid again. The real flag carrier for Spanish football and by going back to what made Los Merengues, rather than Los Galacticos, its produced the most successful period in Madrid's modern history.

Its a Spanish team again, with an identifiably Spanish style of football. Zidane doesn't get enough credit for stopping the crazy, pointless spending, and rebuilding the Real Madrid team ethic.

Yes,It was really annoying to see the golden era of spanish national team based in Barcelona players.
The Barsa dream team was very famous but they were very lucky with the penalty of Djukic and the leagues of Tenerife.
Zamorano was definitely better than Salas
Let's see if tomorrow Ceballos and Theo play a while.
In that time Valdano was a symbol of good football.Something classic in Madrid is to sign a manager who promotes good football but lose the control of dressing room, is sacked and changed for a defensive and more physical coach.
After a while we realize that is not the solution to come back to attacking football
Floro-Valdano-Capello-Schuster...etc.
Luckily Zidane seems to be confortable un both roles

Can see Barca (Messi) make the second game interesting.

There will be handkerchiefs in the minute 7 to protest for Barcelona's referee and the 5 games to Cristiano.
Someone already wrote in twitter that in that case the smaller teams of primera should protest with quilts instead handkerchiefs

And Laudrup had the privilege of winning 5-0 both times:lol:

But but... they should be killing each other, where's my news headline now???

COPE said that Casemiro and Bale won't be in the line-up.They also said that Llorente could go on loan to Sevilla or Valencia

Kinda excpected honestly, though i don't much like it. But we're too deep as it is, barring injuries we already have to share minutes between casemiro, modric, kroos, dani and kovacic in midfield, plus cris, karim, bale, isco and asensio...that's 10 players for 6 spots. Come the end of the season, someone will be unhappy about his usage, it's inevitable

Also expect us to change a lot next summer...

We, United, should loan in Llorente for the season. We won't though.

Interesting line ups. Semedo still doesn't start and they go back to playing Sergi Roberto there. Zidane is rotating already

Kovacic was Messi's shadow in Barcelona. He deserves more minutes and probably his best option is being the spare part of all the midfield.I thought that Vallejo would be the one going on loan

Yeah, Kovacic is probably our best player to defend Messi, and he's proven himself quite good as Casemiro's backup

Vallejo won't move, we're already thin at the back
