We'll end tomorrow 2nd. Narrow win. If we fancy winning this season, City are our rivals. They frequently knock in 3-4 goals or more, we have better defenders. We need to hope for a miracle, or just accept we're gonna grind it out and hope for the best.

We uh won our first two games 4 nil. Had the most goals in the league until today.

TBH GD has only won a team a title once in all these past years. You win the league by collecting the most points possible so here we go.

Trust fecking Stoke to lose against Newcastle today. I hope it's not an omen for the season ahead. Everton have been absolute crap all season so far. Anything less than a 4-0 tomorrow will warrant an explanation.

With Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal all dropping points this weekend, this looks an important game already. Must-win if we want to open a gap over our rivals this early on.

Difficult game though. Don't think we will lose, I'm going 1-1 or 3-1 to us.

Exactly, it's all good as long as we're getting the 3 points, couldn't care less about GD.

    Isn't Arsenal playing tomorrow?

    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Bailly Blind
    Fellaini Matic
    Mata Mkhi Martial
    Lukaku

My lineup. Think it'll be 3-1 to us. Rooney will inevitably score. I hope he won't celebrate.
    Is Jones not available?

    Is Jones not available?
He probably is but he cost us that game against Stoke so we shouldn't reward that by continuing to play him.

Lindelof isn't ready, Rojo is injured so Smalling it is.

Oh ok, thanks. Just wanted to know if he's an option for lineup prediction. I think I will go with Jones anyway though as I don't believe Mourinho will want to disrupt the CB partnership at this point.

So I've had a connecting flight to New York cancelled and I've been put up in a hotel in LA. The game is on at 8am for me, any chance it will be on US tv in the hotel?

Check if it has NBCSN, it's usually on there.

Lukaku hattrick please and a convincing United win.

    Thanks,

Completely disagree about jones he had an unfortunate slip and was actually touch tight to his marker before that

What cost us was no man in the post.

Also bailly made 2 glaring mistakes for the first goal which IMO are way worse and totally down to concentration rather than a slip/trip.

Tricky game. Everton already made life very difficult for Man City this season, and I think they'll be difficult for us to break down on Sunday.

Spurs did blow them away, but Everton foolishly treated that game as if they were playing their equals. Today they'll set up more defensively and play a patient game aiming to frustrate us and our home crowd.

    I can't say I'm super-confident we'll win this one.

Pretty sure City went down to 10 men just before HT in that one and Everton still kind of bottled it.

They were already losing and struggling big time before the red card. Walker got sent off because City were losing the plot and getting frustrated.

    Jose comment on Jones:

"What I did with him (Fellaini) was what I do normally with every player - like Jones. He made a bad mistake for Stoke’s second goal. Is he going to be on the bench on Sunday? No."

Martial and Rashford flanking Lulaku just one game please Mourinho. Sick and tired of our right flank producing nothing every game.

We will win comfortably against this lot. Lukaku will score a brace or maybe even a hattrick today. I'll go with 3-0.

With what I saw of Young on Tuesday - the graft, the runs, the sweet crosses - I want him in that team. Right back or left back. Either will be fine with me.

    DDG
    Young Bailly Jones Blind
    Herrera Matic
    Rashford Miki Martial
    Lukaku

That's what I'd like to see. Yes, I've left Fellaini out. He was brilliant against Basel, but now he's hyped and Everton will have made a plan for him. This game will need someone to run it from midfield, and that's Herrera not Fellaini. Use him as a weapon off the bench the way Jose has done so effectively so often.

Get Rashford attacking his fullback as aggressively as possible, and Young providing early crosses onto Lukaku. You can't defend against both approaches simultaneously - either Everton try and push someone up to Young leaving Rashford with space and not enough defenders to stop him, or they double up on Rashford and Young has plenty of time and space to pick crosses out all game.

I fear with Fellaini possibly starting and Mata on the right we will be far to static, with Pogba being out we lose a lot of drive from the team we should start both Martial and Rashford imo we will need players who can run at the opposition.

I've got the fear with this one, Rooney is bound to score, I went for a 2-1 win but that's me being optimistic.

You want to start with 2 very young players (who are inconsistent) and have failed to score a goal when they start? All their goals have come when they are subbed on, against tired defences.
IMO, only one of them can start, as we need a fast attacker on the bench to be subbed on. If both start, we have no attacking options to bring on.

Really need to win this. Pool and Spurs and dropped points, one of or both Chelsea and Arsenal will drop points.

City might be on a hot streak too.

Maybe if they both started we could get a couple of goal lead and we wouldn't be relying on a 70th minute sub to rescue the game? Mata as offered very little this season for me and he'll look even worse playing alongside Fellaini as we won't have many players who can beat their man the team will be unbalanced.

Both Rashford and Martial have been scoring, from the bench or not we will need their attacking threat after losing Pogba. I'd probably consider Lingard over Mata for this one for the same reasons.

I Can sense these mediocre scousers turning it on today. This is going to be a very difficult game and hopefully utd can get the win somehow.

First time at OT this season so hopefully we win as usual when I'm in the stands:).
    Ddg
Valencia Lindelöf Bailly Shaw Herrera Matic Rashford MkHitaryan Martial Lukaku is the team I want to see but I don't think Jose agrees sadly

    No white text. Incredible.

It's inevitable. You can bet Watford will turn up against us too.

    The bold is hyperbolic though.

I suspect Everton to raise their game but still predict us to win. Massive game. Come on you reds!!

    Okay.
But what happens if at 70 mins, we are 0-0, with Martial and Rashford both on the pitch?
