We where On and Off for the whole game, luckily we won it 4-0.Attitude of player had changed completely when we compare it with last season, they never give up.

How did that end up 4-0?

Really happy with the result.
Performance was lacklustre and if Rooney could've finished we'd have been looking at a different one.
I said the team sheet was looking weak without one of our two most important players and kinda got shot down for it. Think it reflected in the performance here though.

But yeah, excellent result against what's often a bogey team for us.
Pleased with Rooney's reception too.

Upgrade on an attack that has delivered 19 goals in 6 matches this season?

That will be incredible. :)

That's the thing though - our attack can be improved. Rashford, Martial, Mkhi and Mata all have a tendency to float in and out of games and can be frustrating at times. If they could show their best more consistently we'd have a scary good attack.

Didn't enjoy that - I felt we were quite passive for most of the game. We had to counter attack at home, which I think is a little sad, and when we controlled the game for periods we weren't really a threat. We were lucky Valencia scored when and how he did, because I think it could have been a very tricky game otherwise.

The lack of quality in our attack is worrying at times. Mata and Mkhi are good players but not great ones, and I don't think I'd describe them game changers.

Still, a solid performance. Happy enough! We'll play better!

Not that good performance, but it's wonderful to play like that and still can score many.

We are not a good side, if we played against a better team we would've got beat.

Exactly. After three very frustrating seasons and a cautiously promising one, we have finally started one so strongly and look very good. From here, I would say that we are nailed on to challenge from the title.

Moaning on this thread really sucks the joy out of an amazing win.
The early goal that we scored gave the feeling that we will have a total control of the game and will demolish them. We did indeed continue to push forward, but after this miss of Lukaku they started to get into the game. The rest is history.

I would take 2-0 before the game, let alone 4-0. I never expected that to be a walk in the park.

I love it when we put teams to sword. Absolutely LOVE IT!
Night and day from last year, going into that last 10 minutes I just had a feeling we'd get a few, brilliant feeling.

Champions League is looming and might have influenced our performance and lineup. We miss Pogba and Fellaini should not be a starter. Rashford and some others need to be pushed by to coaches because currently it's all too predictable.

Without Matic United would have been doomed. Thank you Chelsea, thank you Conte. 40 mill very well spent.
Mata, Mourinho, Matic...Chelsea send their 'M' players and coaches to us.

Morata next.

At least this year we will be very much in the mix for challenging for the title, Jose is doing a great effort with the squad we have.

Listening to Five Live and Koeman's interview. So many sour grapes it's unreal. And he seems really cheesed off by Jose's pre-game comments about how much they've spent.

We won 4 nil and people are still moaning and saying they didn't enjoy it etc. Get a grip! We are joint top and have a 13+ goal difference. Lighten up, celebrate and have a drink.

Wins a win so can't be too negative about it.

However, I expect teams like City, Spurs and Chelsea to rip us apart playing like that.

We still managed to make them look better than they are but the scoreline is very convincing. Performance was sloppy but good win.

Very nervy game. Everton could've very well equalized and maybe even turned the scoreline around, despite the fact that they went 0-2, 0-3, 0-3 in their last 3 games, because we were playing awfully for the majority of the game. Everton gave us a freebie with a silly mistake from Williams and then had a complete mental breakdown afterwards.

Very good result but we got lucky and will need to play much better next game.

He lacks the ability to control games, its not a bad thing because he offers something different. But you saw in the second half how he couldnt get hold of the ball and most of the good things he did were tackles and interceptions. Herrera shows for the ball and trys to bring people into play which is what we need.

With Pogbas injury i think we need to stick with a 3. That said i get the feeling Jose told the team to sit back because Everton were playing 5 at the back

Hmnn not sure about that at all. He did get hold of the ball and distributed it pretty well if you ask me. His role was not to 'control' the game or be the creative force. I think a bigger problem was Mata (and to an extent Miki who seems to have poor spatial awareness and ability to shield the ball without losing it). I hardly felt Mata in the game. Little wonder Herrera came in for him and there was a difference.

I have to agree with you. Spot on.

I'm sure we will be more mentally prepared for the big games. Everton hardly tactically outclassed us or dominated us - it was all us purely letting them back into the game.

Koe man throwing a bit of shade our way:D

Joint top of the League with +14 GD... If we're not a good side then what does that say about the rest of the League?

I'm still trying to workout how Martial got past those two Everton defenders to earn the penalty. Exceptional play. Similar to what he produced in pre-season against Real Madrid.

Poor display from Rashford. Martial should start ahead of him at Southampton.

Some of the schoolgirls who "support" us wet their knickers if an opposing team even has a shot on target against us. Wasn't our best performance but thoroughly enjoyed it and never thought for a second we wouldn't win the game.

Herrera didn't change the game. Everton opened up, came out of their defensive shell and tried to win. Then we pasted them.

What are those problems? I remember actually dropping points against this opponent last season on both our fixtures.

For starters not taking our chances and persisting with players like Mata and Lingard and to a lesser degree Fellaini which equates to being one dimenaional and slow.

Also, same issues with our defence in particular left back.

I thought we were very good today. Out attack was very quick, players were moving around quickly (such a bug change from the pedestrian Van Gaal and Moyes period), attack minded passes and runs all the time, minimal backwards passes and exciting overall.

It was a high risk performance - the kind of stuff we never thought Jose will do. What I like is that he is making a big statement to teams who want to play 5 at the back against us. If you do that, we will still break you down. Might as well try and play against us.

I'm loving this. Jose is doing exactly what I thought he would not.

Brilliant to see Lukaku and Fellaini combining to set up one and Lukaku scoring another. I used to like Everton as a team till their fans behavior with Moyes and Fellaini. fecking cnuts. Suck on it.
