EFL Cup - 3rd Round (2017)

Highlights on Channel 5 tonight... haven't watched football on Five since a short-lived Serie A football show many years ago.

We played great til Gundo got injured then fell a bit to pieces, very Liverpool type performance as still looked ok going forward but protection of midfield seemed lost, my stream crashed a few times but it was a poor last 20 mins

Oh feck! Bloody Swansea

BOURNEMOUTH v MIDDLESBROUGH

LEICESTER v LEEDS

MANCHESTER CITY v WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS

CHELSEA v EVERTON

ARSENAL v NORWICH CITY

SWANSEA CITY v MANCHESTER UNITED

BRISTOL CITY v CRYSTAL PALACE

TOTTENHAM v WEST HAM

The League Cup needs updating. I would advocate the exclusion of all teams that are taking part in European football.

So, the top 6/7 in the premier league ? what would that achieve ? the competition wouldn't mean anything if they do that. it would be better to scratch it completely in this case.

Good draw. If we lose, no biggie and not really a shock considering our cup record against them. If we win, then cracking set of QF's with all the big boys in it.

It would mean the lower teams would take the competition a bit more seriously as they have would have a better chance. If they field a better starting 11, it may convince more supporters to attend.

The majority of the clubs know even if they beat a Liverpool, they still have to go through the other top five teams.

With the number of weekday games the football league clubs play, the EFL cup simply isn't worth their time at this point.

Could be interesting if they imposed an olympics style format regarding squads for PL teams. Would guarantee young players a run out and keep it competitive without becoming a huge hinderance on the big teams come the turn of the year.

Nobody would watch it in this case and the cup would have no value. what's the point of winning a cup that has no value.
