World Cup Qualifiers | October 2017 | Play off draw on Tuesday

Bosnia has the classic thing of losing focus after scoring a goal. Careless to concede right after like that

It's not losing focus, our defending in the last 5 years is like watching kids on the playground, everyone is going for the ball, we simply have no idea how to defend.

That French midfield is incredibly underwhelming. 3 players who are way too similar. Who exactly is going to be creating in that midfield?

Belgium haven't lost qualification game for 7 years, so what can you expect. We are shit anyway. Fun game today though.

Fantastic result for Sweden! Think we should get to playoff at least now. 13 goals up on Holland. Will likely need to win with 5 against us to go past us at best.

Also France may slip again against Bulgaria and we could even win the group. You never know after France fecked it up against Luxembourg.

Wow Sweden! 8-0! Massive pressure on France now. Belgium and Estonia win as well. Latvia draw, instead.

Portugal lineup vs Andorra, no Ronaldo on the first eleven, he has a yellow card, rested for tuesday against Switzerland.

Someone scout Gelson Martins for me, not showing the match here in Norway.

Not that a game against Andorra means much.

Nigeria to world cup.

With Uganda drawing with Ghana, Egypt have technically secured their place in Russia next year. Egypt to play Congo tomorrow, a win for Egypt will seal their qualification.

I follow him regularly, currently he is not at his best, looked tired against Porto last Sunday.

Think he can cut it at the absolute top level or is he more like another Nani?

I've seen him twice and we are missing a flair RW like him.

There were a few rumours of an injury too, he was training away from the group for a few days.

Also, you know you've been traumatized by past qualifications when you're dreading a game against Andorra.

Difficult to say, as I can remember when Nani left for United he was 20 years old? Gelson already 22, different stages of development, but I would say I liked more Nani undestanding of the game than Gelson, even if Gelson when at his best can be more spectacular, mostly if we are playing away matches in the Champions League on counter attacks like Steaua or Olympiakos.

Last 2 matches against Barcelona or Porto at home he wasn't at his best, but also think our manager should play him more on the left side to make more diagonal movements to cut inside while vs Barça or Porto he had to defend a lot and was more tired.

Getting closer to the world cup who would people consider to be the favorites?

Brazil looks really strong so I guess they will be one of if not the main favorite to win it. Although a lot will depend on Neymar I think as they still build a lot around him.

Germany will of course stand a very good chance, but I don't think the team they have look that great at the moment. Still though they play good as a team and they often raise the game for the big stage.

Belgium has a fantastic team on paper and should also be one of the favorites. I do feel this might be the time for them to even get all the way. Particular with Lukaku taking the step now to become even better under us.

France on paper probably have the best set of players in the world, but I am not sure about them getting everything together. Pogba will probably need to step it up for them to be able to win it. Mbappe might not yet be able to produce enough going forward for a world cup favorite.

Think one of these 4 will win it personally. Hard to not pick Brazil, but I also expect most of the pressure to be on them as well. They will be the favorites everyone expect to win so I can see some underdog stand a better chance. With things right now looking really poor when it comes to german club football I can see them raising the game and winning the world cup personally. My money would be on them.

Any other thoughts?

Who, me or Santos?

Germany are big favourites for me. Spain, Brazil, Russia probably also with a good chance.

Our dedence is worse than our pitch.

Shocking defending, Sunjic and Vranjes must go they are awful, Đumic was ok today and Šiminovic from celtic should get a chance next game. Not even gonna comment on the pitch its disgraceful.

Time for a new defensive coach, we are so counter productive. We are the Liverpool version as a national team can score goals but concede them so piss easy.

3 favourites for me: France (based on individual quality),Brasil (individual quality + Tite), Germany (Low, Experience, Individual quality).

Me!

But I'm guessing I'm not the only portuguese dreading tonight's game.
Ffs, after the fourth place in WC 2006 first match we had for qualification with Scolari we managed a 2:2 draw vs Liechenstein, I never feel comfortable watching Portugal.

Germany are big favourites for me. Spain, Brazil, Russia probably also with a good chance.

Russia really? Can't really see them doing anything at all. Rather teams will raise the game against them and they will have more pressure to perform well too. Spain have a good team, but I do think they can get hit on the counters again and will struggle to get very far. They have a lot of great support players and are great with the ball, but lack players with pace, physicality and individual brilliance. Although as teams get more tired the longer the tournament goes that might benefit them.

I do think England might do better than Spain this time around. Think the squad for England look better than it have for many years.

Could have found 4 people on here to defend better than what we did today.

Shambolic.

Begovic as well. Shocking GK on the 2nd and the moments preceding the 4th was amateurish.

Bosnia lose. Still bottom of the runners up table..... and means a draw for Wales and they're definitely in the playoffs.

Cymru am byth. :)

That's assuming Bosnia finish second, which they won't if Greece beat both the bottom teams.

Spain for me. Looking just at the squad they are brilliant in almost every position with a strong bench. Don't know if these problems in the country will have any effect on them but from a pure football perspective, they have a big chance.

After that, Germany along with France and Brazil.

I think the home advantage will galvanize the Russians though I admit they have been terrible lately. I see this being quite a defensive tournament as usual. England have decent talent in attack but they also have Southgate as their manager.

Spain are fantastic in every single position. They have someone who's arguably top 5 in the world in his position in every single position of their starting eleven whilst having a very deep bench.

I think Germany will disappoint.
