Saw Aguero + bottler. I'm leaving this thread.

Apparently Pep didn't want to play him at first because he was a bottler. Pep must of worked wonders with him, completely changing an established player in under a year.
Miracle worker.
He's a world class manager, but the lengths some of his followers go to to credit him continues to baffle me
He actually got a hat-trick in that match.
Give credit where it's due and nowhere else. Aguero has never been a bottler.
In league games, that's true. In the CL (direct elimination stages up to this point in his career) though, that might be another story. And a much stronger argument can be made about him being a bottler for the Argentine NT (thogh the same goes for many other Argentine players).
I think this post answers the bottler claim. Fair play to you.If only he was, we'd have one more league title, with them having one less.
Precisely and he's not even being called up for the NT anymore either. I think I saw a stat about his performances against the top 6 and he has a very good record but we're not talking about cup defining moments or in knockout competitions - something he has never stood out for. This coming from someone who really appreciates his game but after all those moments he failed to deliver last season, it's absolutely the reason why Jesus is so vital for Pep and why the Alexis pursuit even came about
Have you watched Argentina? Kun is unreliable even if he is now the leading scorer for City - volume scorer but ultimately, until now, a bottler. Would love it if it were not true but he has not shown it consistently in the biggest matches.
And after all that he still puts the ball in the back of the net faster than anyone else here. Aguero was absolutely a world class striker, and has been for a long time. You can point to Jesus now but Aguero is 29 and doesn’t quite offer the same explosiveness he once did, but at the top of his game he was exceptional, absolutely in that top bracket, and even now he’s still very effective, but probably a bracket below these days.He is terrible for their national team and is rightfully not called up. His first instinct is to shoot from stupid angles without checking the situation. So many times he had the opportunity to play a teammate in a better scoring position but he either tries to bulldoze his way through a block or just shoots from an improbable angle.
He is still not doing what Guardiola wants but Pep is compromising. The team looks much better and fluid when Jesus plays because he does exactly what Pep wants. He moves into the channels, drops deep to create numerical superiroities in the right moments, always blocks the passing lanes of the opposition centre back and forces them to pass wide a lot of the time.
He is not on the level of the very elite strikers such as Lewandowski, Suarez have been over the years. Only people in the premier league keep lauding him trying to put him on a level he simply is not. It's this constant need the league needs for validation because they had no supposed world class stars, whatever that means.
He can be effective if he is just asked to work close to the box and not do anything else but that isn't enough anymore.
I've had people try and tell me he is a better footballer than Henry and I just had to laugh. Henry at his best was one of the world. Aguero has never been close to that level in his career.

Pep having to compromise with a striker like Aguero and still manages to make do. Is there any limit to this man's power?

I'm wondering how many City players would be firm starters for Jose's United.
I think that none of the defensve players would be guaranteed to start apart form Mendy who is unavailable. But even Mendy doesn't seem to be a Jose type of defender, maybe he's too attacking-minded and not defensibly reliable. I reckon Valencia would start over Walker, same with our main CBs.
Then Jose wouldn't replace Matic and Pogba for any City player. I reckon that Silva would probably replace Mata and KDB Mkhi. Which means that Silva may find himself on the bench for big games. Then Aguero is generally perceived as superior to Lukaku but Lukaku is more of a Jose player. Has Jose ever used as a main striker a smallish CF? Then it's Martial/Rashford vs Sane. Hard to tell, many United fans think that Martial has a higher ceiling than Sane and that Rashford is no less talented. And they may well be right.
Basically, only KDB would be a guaranteed starter in all (important) games for Jose. Is this right?
This post isn't an implicit crticism of Jose. He has a completely different understanding of the game compared to Pep and he is one of the smartest people in football, IMO. I'm just pointing out that comparing squads without taking into account the manager and his philosophy is largely pointless.
Btw, most City players wouldn't start for the biggest clubs abroad either. Probably only KDB would be a guaranteed starter for Madrid.
Bankrupt and arabs don't fit well in a sentence I believe. We are crap, but these arabs have robbed us today. Can't wait until they go bankrupt. Useless club.

Arabs have the money.Got all the referees on their side as well which always helps.
They are good, blabla bla but how many points they got this year woth refs help? feck that
Just fund an investigation into the Abu Dhabi group. They kill 1000s of workers every year via their poor working conditions and hours. I am sure other dirt can be found on them. Unlimited money means success. You have to cut the money off from the source.Bankrupt and arabs don't fit well in a sentence I believe.
They’re a different class, a level above every other side in the EPL.
So strong in all areas of the pitch and in the final 3rd look unstoppable.

Deserved? How deserved? Soft penalty and goal from offside. How is that deserved?
Come off it, another dominant performance and a deserved 3 points.

Only spurs and us away can stop that from happening. Otherwise it is nailed on.Even if we do somehow beat them this season, I feel like they'd be more consistent against the lower sides than us.
Wish they'd hurry up and lose though. Feck having this lot becoming the next invincibles.
