FFS I couldnt sleep properly because of the result. Its just football but man I was livid.

Absolutely childish finishing from our forwards who didnt manage to score despite all the chances we had to kill off the game.

The gap is 13 points, the biggest in the history of English top flight football. Its a fecking disgrace any way you look at it. We're not really contending for the title its a battle for second and thats really fecking upsetting.

Anyone criticizing Lukaku clearly didn’t watch the game - he was fantastic. He laid chances on a plate for Martial and Lingard and would have had several great chances had simple passes been made (Rashford and I believe Herrera were the culprits here.)

He should've had 3 assists and a one-on-one with the keeper if rashford makes a pass. Mata and lukaku were fantastic.

We needed some luck, played some good football in patches. Somehow I figured that we were going to be punished for the lacklustre finishing. Decision cost us and with Smalling injured we just couldn't clear our lines resulting in that last gasp equalizer.

Need to face up to the reality, we are playing for second place. Missed a chance to create somewhat of a gap in the top 4.

Anyway blessed Christmas to all.

Agree, although I think I might have been mistaken regarding Herrera not passing to him (I do remember Lukaku being mad at him for something...)

Jose in the post match presser mentioned that he relayed instructions to Young to pass on on how to restruct the defence with Smalling's injury but the instructions weren't carried out. How the feck does that happen?

He’s lost the team. This is what happens when Jose never takes responsibility for anything. Eventually it wears on players psyche being blamed for every issue with Jose suggesting that everything he does is beyond reproach by never taking responsibility.

Second half of the season Jose will go uber defensive and the attack will look even more disjointed. I’m sure he’ll find a new scapegoat when things aren’t going well

He wasn't being selfish. It was the 92nd minute and he was unsure whether to play the pass or hold on to the ball and waste time. You could argue that the right pass would have won us the game but the wrong pass would have caused anger. He should probably have passed it given it was not a tough one but I'm more upset at the bloke to took a shot right after that. Forgetting who it was.

On the one v one I thought he was. He had three options, one the glamour go around, two simply shoot or three pass to Lukaku. He choose the most difficult option.

Why? Was he a fault that Martial/Rashford/Lingard pissed away empty net chances or that nobody could hold on to the ball for a couple of minutes by the corner flag? Couldn't just pass it in triangles against 9 frustrated players? Do you really think that another manager would've changed that?

Today is not on Jose. The players should be ashamed of themselves.

It was his fault we decided to sit back and play on the counter instead of playing the same game we had throughout the match

Even created a decent one for Mkhitaryan who decided "Nah I ain't shooting"

Let's blame the manager:
1. Lukaku is wide open and doesn't control the ball (although he was actually very good today and showed great attitude)
2. Martial misses high and wide from the penalty spot
3. Lingard misses open net
4. Rashford doesn't even take the shot when one on one
5. Three against one counter and Rashford doesn't pass the ball
6. Miki has one on one with the keeper and decides not to shoot
7. The last 10 minutes instead of holding the ball, they keep losing it and offering counter opportunities to Leicester

And by the way, today I was finally able to put my finger on why Miki is not good enough. It's his poor decision making. In the 10 minutes he was on, every time he had the ball he lost it because he made the wrong decision. Most of the time he dribbles into two (or more) defenders, with no reason, and loses the ball. Mata should be the 10 in this team, because he can control the ball, look up, and make a logical pass, not to mention he has the composure to pass it into the back of the net instead of blasting it like the youngsters.

Martial, Rashford, Lingard, they need to grow up. Extremely immature.

The way Miki screwed up that chance was purely down to confidence. He was always looking to pull it back rather than take it himself, risk missing and then copping a load of flack.

We all saw this coming, big changes to be made in the squad and formation. I'm starting to getting irritated.

Definitely not. It isn’t Mourinho’s fault. He inherited a terrible squad.

He had 3 transfer windows to fix it, and already spent about 300m along the way, plus a free transfer Ibra.

He didn't lose the team FFS. Sometimes I get the feeling people can't wait for that to happen or he has a meltdown just so they can prove a point.

I've been on the positive train....but sod it. After this its choo choo sack the lot of them. Missing chances and conceding goals happens. But it was the way we did it that is annoying. I think since Ferguson we have acted like second grade team. Its in our mentality, seeping from every pore like pus. I think Mourinho has done miracles bringing in some winners but its still there and he is fighting its eradication. Easier said then done cause it's hard to put your finger on it. I would get a priest and a shaman in.

Yeah, he played very well I thought. Hard luck for United, they had the better chances but failed to convert - regrettably this happens from time to time. Overall, they played a good match

I keep seeing that replay of Smalling climbing over the back of Maguire, right in front of Moss, and I can't understand how that wasn't a penalty. The action inside the box on deadball situations has zero consistency and can definitely influence results. Had Leicester leveled then with a penalty, perhaps United don't squander some of the late chances on a plate either

....and in the meantime Harry Kane continues to bang them in for fun.

So much for "play the kids", the way things are at the moment, I would gladly sell Lingard, Rashford and Martial in exchange for Kane.

Yeh, I very much doubt he has lost the team. I think it was more our players are thick as shit and didnt read the game and adjust accordingly.

For once this season i can't blame Mou!
I wish he punishes some careless arrogant players in last nights squad.

went to bed early last night as I was too annoyed by the inevitability of that equaliser

we were wasteful in front of goal but when we took off Lingard for Herrera we decided to sit back on what we had I felt- from then on we were defending deep and that gave Leicester the chance to push up on us

can't understand why Rashford didn't appeal for that penalty and we still should have scored

Maguire looked like their biggest threat in a few of their set pieces- feel like it was our deep line of defence which made it possible

overall a tactical mistake to be so deep especially when Smalling could barely move but we also lack quality in defence and attack - after a great start to the season we seem to be giving up too many chances

Second game in a few days we concede in the last minute of injury time. We had the chances to kill it off, wasted them and paid the price. It's sloppy stuff just now. We'll beat Burnley and Southampton, then it's a tricky trip to Goodison.

While I don't really blame Jose for this loss, that's not exactly an excuse anymore. With 7 new signings he basically has over half a team of his own choices right now.

The players have to raise their hands up here though. Those were some really great chances they missed today and Smalling should not have been the man marking Mcguire there when he was clearly injured.

He had two summer transfer windows...

It takes longer than 2,5 years to fix a broken squad. We’re 2nd in the league so it’s not like he hasn’t improved us. Only Pep inherited a much better squad and has spent more so it makes sense for City to be where they are right now. I expect Mou to catch up next season.

It's completely the tactics to me. Why do we choose to park the bus?

All we had to do was keep the ball against 10 men just slow the game down
Park the bus!!
Didn't you watch the game?
We had at least 4 outstanding opportunity's to score, even in the last few minutes.
Do you know what park the bus means or have you just heard it on here so thought you would use the words?

Glad I don't have your crystal ball!
Perhaps it's the players psyche that's the problem in not having composure in front of goal.
Perhaps it's the players psyche in flapping when defending and not thinking.
Or perhaps we just still have shit players at the club that need to be replaced.

A couple of years ago was prior to 2016

Amartey's dismissal was the quickest a substitute has been sent off in the Premier League since Ben Watson for Watford at Southampton in August 2016 (12 minutes, eight seconds).

I didn't look up your date but by bringing it up it seemed like it was something from a long time ago. And by the way, no need to get all aggressive with your big bold letters

I wanted to sleep on that game before coming back on here. I just have a numb feeling inside after those two last second (not even last MINUTE) goals killed our last two games. Lukaku played really well and only him and Mata came out with any credit.

I know a lot of fans never took to Mourinho and they are now just using every opportunity to push their 'sack Mourinho' narrative. So we're not going to win anything this year....it's not the end of the world. I don't expect to win everything.

We should have seen those last two games out. It's very frustrating but seriously the overreactions on here. People just need to grow up!

What happened after Smalling got injured? Gary Neville on commentary said that Herrera and Jones were arguing over who should play where. That didn't sound right to me. Surely Jose would've given instructions rather than letting players figure it out?

That was for the taking. They’ve got no one to blame. Spurn that many chances to kill it off at this level and you are asking for trouble.

Without more killer instinct going forward, this squad is going to struggle. I think it comes back to fluency in the attack. For me, that’s the root cause. Not quality, but fluency. Almost there, but someone like Rene Meulenstene could have them looking like them attacking with that cunning and fluency we used to see.

Obviously we should have put the game to bed but why the feck didn't the players waste time at the dying minutes?
We got the ball and somehow just gave it back to Leicester for a counter. Frustrating.

When you played in your semi-pro teams, did the manager shout from the sidelines what to do? Or, did you (as a semi-pro player with semi-pro team-mates), manage to organise yourselves?

I imagine it'd have been the latter? So actual pro players should be capable of sorting themselves out too? They're not 18.

Jose should have been on the touch line shouting and organising it was clear for a few minutes smalling had a problem.
But someone in the back 4 should have been taking charge too. Just fecking grab someone and tell them to sit in.
Very very amateurish all round.....

We've got some serious potential in this squad but we're nowhere near to winning the EPL title just yet. We lack quality strength in depth and first team (no cover for Matic, no quality fullbacks, little quality on the flanks) which hinders us especially when we've got plenty of matches at one go.

Haha, my thoughts entirely

In a normal season 42 points would put us top or near it at the halfway stage, squad is good enough. Manager isn't

The manager had proven himself time and time again in so many nations. You don't win the league with Smalling leading defense, a former player as only cover for Matic, strikers being your best wingers and wingers being your best fullbacks. That's the ridiculous state we're in.

I saw that too. It wasn’t for not passing but not pressing higher up the pitch when he put so much effort in closing down. He was absolutely amazing.

He's going stale

We were by far the better team, could easily have won by 4 or 5 goals.
Professional footballers unable to take charge of themselves when need be.
Three times now we've had goals scored against us in the last minute .
We used to have Fergie time, now we have turkey time!

I had to re watch the game after our 2nd goal just to see how we managed to only get a draw.
I don't think I feel any better from watching that again. Pissed off!
