We were completely shit and with a bit of luck we still could have ended up winning. We're not Benfica though, so that simply does not happen with us. Luck never in the history of the sport has gone our way in one of these games so I'll take the draw. Jardel's equalizer, Bryan Ruiz's miss, fecking Lindelof scoring a free kick and now a last minute penalty... classic.
Porto continue frustrating me to death by being the best offensive set piece team in the world too. Shit night but everything is still left to play for and our fixtures are easy enough in the following weeks.

The only positive we can take is that we didn't lost, regarding the rest, I think none of the teams can be happy, sure they played better but 5 points behind Porto they simply will not catch them imo.
If I was the president no money for signings, and for those who compared Battaglia with Adrien today was clear we are worse in midfield now than in the end of the Summer.
Anyway, don't believe in this team to win the league.
We're not great but neither are they, Porto are the best team but they're in 4 competitions with a squad that's not very deep and this was Benfica's best performance of the season. Our next 8 games are easy on paper, we need 7 wins at least before the trip to Porto and we'll be up there for sure.

Apparently Sporting is close to sign Wendel from Fluminense(20). He is an excellent prospect. Very talented, dynamic, fast, can score some cracking long ranges. He played as a left midfielder and in attacking positions too.
Its good that he's going to Portugal and not joining the loan-army of the Premiere League because he can develop into a great player. If his adaptation goes well it will be a fantastic business for Sporting in the future.

Hope so, we really need something different in midfield, problem is he will need some months to adapt to a new country, team, also different coach and reality, our problems are deeper than that, he will need time.
That fool Battaglia...We could have finally won when playing rubbish. Our midfield was awful. Carvalho's attitude stinked. There's a reason he's still here. Anyway the draw was a fair result. It was a stupid individual error but we didn't deserve the win. It's crucial we buy well in january but with JJ, my expectations are low.
Carvalho had little support on miedfield, and Benfica was only better by possession, but both teams made a poor game defensively and tactically.
If Porto brings some quality to the squad, they will win the title. They lack some squad depth now and some of the players will suffer from tiredness in the long term.
Short squad if they want to compete for the league, cup and league cup, more 2 matches vs Liverpool, don't know if they can or will bring anyone.

For me is simple, no more excuses, and starts 23th of January vs Porto, we have to win trophies or he has to go.
It's the way to go forward. Sporting had a big opportunity window, since Benfica had sold several key players and potential youth players in the last couple of seasons, creating a quality hole in the squad.
This year was the perfect chance, every team from the "big 3" were basically restarting their cycles, with Benfica loosing three crucial players (Mitroglou, Semedo and Ederson) and Porto was a question mark, since a lot of those players were underwhelming last season and they brought Marega and Aboubakar back, who both were above average a few seasons ago at Porto.
I'm not going to talk a lot about the referee, as some people probably think the referee favoured Sporting intentionally, so that Benfica can say that is also damaged by it.
In my opinion, Benfica was bad defensively, but against most of the teams of the league it will be enough. If we keep this will/desire to score, the title race for us may not be ended.

I do not share the same optimism, most of our game was played by players desire rather than organized team movements. We didn't improve as a team yet.
I'm a little bit more optimistic since yesterday game, but i agree the team is not organized and in 3 years we still don't have established the game tactics/processes, especially in defending. Cervi made a good game but he is frustrating to watch in the majority of the games. Zivkovic should have been given more opportunities, some games(in the same position preferentially!) to show what he can do, but now Salvio have been playing well.
I don't understand how they sold Mitroglou and did not replaced him with a striker of his type(like Bas Dost). And thinking replacing Ederson with other random teenager would work was naivety. We need to change the coach in my opinion.
Your problem is not being behind us 3 points, is the fact you are behind Porto 5 points, only hope you can have to catch them is if they cannot sign anyone in January to give them more depth, not to mention I think Conceição is not worse than Rui Vitória, but after yesterday I don't want to talk that much about JJ either

Hey mate. He's a good DM, CM, got a great engine in him, could run all day, defensively really good but can pick a pass or 2. He's versatile in the sense he can play DM, CM, even more forward, but best to say behind to shield the defense. Him and Bradarić who played a CM pairing were instrumental in Rijeka's championship run last year which ended Dinamo's run of 11 titles in a row. Solid, solid player all in all.

Ristovski is a good player and has done well in the few times he played for us. The only problem is that our first choice Piccini is in an incredible form and we can't displace a player playing like this. But our forum likes Ristovski and hopefully he will have more chances in the future. We are completely sorted at RB.
Ristovski was great too in the last season, him, Mišić and Vešović were 3 most important players. So he'll serve you good.

Braga is a beautifull city as Minho in general, not their fault Salvador Braga is there tbh...Our mental resilience is amazing, we have turned around so many bad results this season.
