Their squad is just full of fairly average hard workers, and Conte has become really negative in his tactics.
Hazard is tasked with providing all creativity and with Morata out of form he's got to score the goals as well.

Zouma, Chalobah, Loftus-Cheek - all promising young players who have at points excelled for PL teams this season.
Replaced in the squad this year arguably by Rudiger, Drinkwater and Barkley - which cost them £79m.
Wouldn't that money have been better invested in other areas of the squad? They could have spent £60m+ on a top-class midfielder instead of Bakayoko, could have probably have met Juve's asking price for Alex Sandro, or bought a better RB than Zappacosta, or added another good striker to rotate with Morata.
Something isn't right at Chelsea. Tonight when they needed a goal their offensive substitution was Zappacosta for Moses. That tells you everything really

Thing is, its not only Chelsea doing it, but it will be highlighted cos of how average their squad looks. And how much weaker it looks and is compared to last season.

I more surprised about how media keep focusing about our play style and saying it's a rich man's Stoke and all this nonsense while Chelsea have been feck awful to watch. They're terribly boring and predictable going forward.

You get what you pay for. Bakoyoko has been a disaster. Drinkwater has been mostly a sick note. Zappa Costa was a pointless signing and Conte refuses to use youth players.

Fair point. Loved the game tonight, great atmosphere in the second half as well. Neither side was very good though.
I thought both sides showed how pointless this formation is without a centre forward who can run beyond the defence and hold the ball up. Lacazette has been terrible for months, and Chelsea are missing Costa tragically. I'd love it if we got Aubameyang, surprised that Chelsea aren't chasing him either.

The team is crying out for a change, more than just a target man (that we do need).
No Musonda on the bench today was a bizarre call.
What's the view on Bakayoko? A lot of the time he just seems irrelevant to me but I can never figure out whether he's quietly going about his job breaking up play or he's just generally pointless.

They need a player who can occupy the opposition defenders to prevent being completely pinned back. Also holding up play upfront in transition creates space for Hazard to bring his top gear. Too many times now Hazard was tightly marked. Diego Costa is exactly that, even if his goal scoring tally ain't that impressive. Morata failed so far.
