For those saying not a penalty
Good spot, didn't notice the hit on the leg, thought it was merely a knee to the back kind of stuff.

You're still wrong though.
or
- clearly attempting to play a ball which is close to him when this action impacts on an opponent or
- making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball
- gaining an advantage by playing the ball or interfering with an opponent when it has:
- rebounded or been deflected off the goalpost, crossbar or an opponent
- been deliberately saved by any opponent
Kane was in an offside position when the pass was made and it clearly had an impact on Lovren's actions. His attempt for a clearance ('a deliberate save') doesn't change it; it was the result of an opposing player in an offside position. It was offside, no question.
How some of you don't see that van dijk kicked lamela ?

He didn't touch him.
Didn't touch him apparently![]()
A ball coming in without any attackers in sight, you just run alongside it or let it go through to the keeper. You really reckon every defender snatches at every ball coming close to them?I can’t agree Duffer at all. He is trying to clear the ball because they are under pressure and that is what defenders do. What would you expect him to do in that situation?

Aren't we all? Ask my wife. Are you 12?

From the laws of the game...
In the context of Law 11 – Offside, the following definitions apply:
“gaining an advantage by being in that position” means playing a ball i. that rebounds or is deflected to him off the goalpost, crossbar or an opponent having been in an offside position.
Surely this says that if a pass hits a defender on the way through, you're still offside?
They’ve just had Dermot Gallagher on TV watching the replay and he said exactly the same as me. But if you think you understand the rules better than an ex top level ref then fine.

Of course he did. Don’t be so ridiculous
Agreed. Brilliant performance.Karius played well.

you should post more, mate. Enjoying your posts in here.
Eh yeah I guess, Lamela buys it. But we've had this problem for years not closing out games. We don't have the depth though.Good spot, didn't notice the hit on the leg, thought it was merely a knee to the back kind of stuff.
What were you saying ?
Imagine Neymar, Salah and Kane as a front 3. I'd say better than even Barca's.
Didn't the rules get changed recently with offside, where if the offside player is influencing the game (whether or not he actually touches the ball) then its given as offside? You can clearly hear the linesman say "if he (Lovren) didn't the ball, its offside". Bit dodgy that.
Don't think either one was a pen tbh, but it meant 2 dropped points for Liverpool, so I'm certainly not gonna complain!

They almost always back their mates decisions, whatever they may be.

Like I said, based on the actual laws of the game, as per stated on the website of The FA, it was offside. You and Gallagher - who retired in 2007, mind you - can disagree but you're still wrong.
Can they ban Kane for his dive, despite he missed the pen?
Remember, you're appealing to scousers...Lamelas offside isn't possible to see with normal eyes.
Btw, re offside, lovren mishitting the ball matters in this case: if lovren clear the ball and it smacked into a teammate and went back into the box for Kane, then it would not have been offside
You're wrong. Just admit it. It's OK happens to us all sometimes.I suggest you watch none ridiculous angles.
Nice one for calling his little toe offside. Howler that one.
I’m sure the law still states benefit goes to the attacker
Gallagher consistently talks shit to back up whatever call the ref made. I've never seen him once disagree with the refs call no matter how absurd it was. It's a complete waste of time this expert referee opinion shit because they just back the refs call every time. They’ve just had Dermot Gallagher on TV watching the replay and he said exactly the same as me. But if you think you understand the rules better than an ex top level ref then fine.
Remember this goal?
Chris Foy was on TV saying that Fellaini wasn't offside because Wes Morgan made a deliberate block that sent it Fellaini's way, despite Fellaini being offside when the shot towards goal came in. Ex-referees talk as much bollocks as you and I.
