Other Logan Paul v KSI Fight Discussion

His footwork is nice and so is that jab, looks a natural mover in there if he has no experience.

He's loaded as feck, so managed to get himself a team GB trainer/boxer.

Wonder if another celeb will take it? Rio maybe? Though I think any ex-pro athlete would kill him, even if they had never trained for boxing before. Just too naturally strong/athletic.

Is he big enough to fit Rio, Rio is a big guy, a cruiserweight.

He weighed in at 83 kg I think, and is about 5'11ish. Rio's 6'2 probably weighs about 10 lbs heavier? I don't think they care too much about size though if you watched the under cards, there was a 6'4 93kg guy up against a feather.

Yeah I just looked up and he was quite a bit taller and heavier than the guy he beat. His reach and his jab were a big advantage. Rio wants to have a proper pro bout though, no head guards and proper gloves, it isn't a proper bout with head guards and bigger gloves, its white collar boxing or a glorified sparring session. Giving up size and weight advantage becomes more relevant then.

This happened on Saturday by the way. Didn't look fake. But it wasn't very good either. Weller get the head pucked off him.

8,000 people attended the sold-out event, and they said there was enough demand to sell out the O2 in London. Well over a million watched live on YouTube.

He looked fantastic for 4 months of training. Big fan of the skirt too.

I think this will stay in the realm of YouTube.

I think all of the people that were involved in the fight and the aftermath of it are insufferable bellends (well at least KSI occasionally manages or used to manage be a bit funny but he's still such a dickhead) but I really wouldn't mind seeing one of the Logans being knocked around a bit. That said, this is just fecking ridiculous. Just goes to show how little effort can you put in your material and people will still watch it. It's genuinely is just a logical evolution of reality TV shows. I really wonder what's the next step after this.

At least, considering how this type of fame usually works, their popularity will take a hit in the next few years, as their audience grows up/switches them for the next big thing, and they'll struggle too support their extravagant lifestyles and, more importantly, be starved of the attention they got used to receiving.

I do see a lot of Youtubers moving to kids tv/acting in the future, when their current audience grows up/YouTube loses popularity.

And I don't mean proper acting, but those kids shows.

Oh, I agree. They'll probably still be in entertainment one way or another. But kids shows are not half as lucrative or relevant as their current platform.

Apart from visiting an occasional science site, Redcafe is the only social media I bother with. I feel like a relic from the Stone Age. There's a brave new world out there which is passing me by.:o
I'd say there is a shit new world where vacuous morons are famous for being famous, and spew a constant stream of crap from their mouth and you are lucky it's passing you by

KSI has been around for 6 years now. He's gone from a FIFA Youtuber, to a rapper, to a YouTube personality with the sidemen and now he's moving on to this whole boxing thing. He's obviously a pretty smart business man, and knows exactly when to move on to keep his audience interested.

I am talking more about the Pauls rather than KSI. And let's be honest, he went from a Youtube personality to a Youtube personality who raps and after that to a Youtube personality who also boxed once. He's clearly a clever self promoter and can be genuinely funny but he didn't exactly change his core target audience and six years in not that long of a timeframe considering the platform has been pretty much growing simultaneously. I'm not sure who's going to take him seriously anymore when he's in his late thirties, with this type of content anyway. He'll have to reinvent himself sooner or later and, even if he does, I'm not sure if he'll be able to buy a new lambo every 6 months after that.

And movies. Funnily enough, he's shit at all of them.

He's funny though, I suppose he has that.

I'd be interested in how KSI would do against someone who is actually training full time as a boxer.

I'm not an expert but the fight looked to be all attack and KSI simply got more and better punches in. I hope they solved whatever it is they solved, and I suppose you have to give them credit for actually going through with it; good luck trying to get beefing rappers into a ring to settle their differences.
He would be on the ground within the first minute. Was it not for charity? Just them settling a beef?

Both pretty rubbish, I mean KSI’s jab had no snap and he was just pawing at him but that other dude had absoulutly no head movement. And just couldn’t get past it for whatever reason. Props to anyone who gets in a ring in front of a crowd tho no matter the skill level you can still get really badly hurt so good on them.

What the feck, how does this pass for entertainment? How does this guy have millions of followers? Who are the plebs that follow him around? Its like Viva La Bam but 50 times as annoying.
You could ask this very same question regarding most celebrities, to be fair.

From Jake Paul to KSI to Weller or whoever, it's become increasingly boring. I used to watch Defranco who has a 15 minute news kind of video which was nice. Even H3h3 kind of has become tedious. Redcafe is now the only social media i use, other than maybe occasionally browsing through twitter without an id.

The benefits of being a youtuber are the fans being fans of the creator.
You can say KSI is a FIFA youtuber, rapper, actor and now boxer but the same audience is financing every project.
He could blog his trials as a sheep farmer and get millions of views.
I just watched the highlights of this event and there's a mismatch on the undercard which is truly disgusting. The bigger man must have been twice as big as his opponent.
It was televised bullying, I didn't catch their names though.

Saw this one as well. JMX versus some other dude. JMX was fighting one-armed due to an injury so they were trying to say it was even, but it wasn't even close.

The rise of fame of Youtubers and the rest says more about us as a society than them. A lot of people will know who Logan Paul and other dickheads are but will have no idea who Malala Yousafzai is.

Be honest now, did you just google her surname?

So what’s new? Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe were a hell of a lot more famous than whatever Nobel Peace prize winners were around at the time.

Of course, but I know who she is though, what she did, and what she stands for and I hope my kids will look up to someone like her growing up rather than all the dickheads who now have a platform on social media and more more on TV as well with all the shows being produced that you feel instantly bring your IQ down even if you just accidentally catch glimpses of it wile changing channels!

Too late :(

You act as if that's a new thing. In fact most of your criticisms of younger generations seem to be equally applicable to older ones. I'm actually in awe of how ignorant and judgemental you come across in near enough every thread you enter that has anything to do with young people.

Quite a few have tried but without much success. It's a bit like TV stars trying to become film stars, maybe. People want to see them in the terms they're used to.

Most of the really big channels (the ones with millions of subscribers) seem pretty worthless but there's good stuff at the next level down.

I dont think its any less worthless than the amount of other hack celebrities. the terms been watered down so badly, id rather have a gaming streamer get some notoriety than someone from geordie shore.

My brother does youtube and has over 2million subscribers, there is a hell of a lot of money in youtube and it’s guys like us that fund it. No complaints from me.

Only thing I’ve ever watched on YouTube are obligatory player highlights. The entire YouTube library of original material seems a veritable gold mine of cretinous and mundane content; mostly posted by young people with an incredibly limited experience of the world and a tenuous grasp on reality. It makes one fear for the future.

KSI just uploaded a video, calling out the paul brothers.

I'm invested.

A lot of youtubers come across with a different persona in their videos. They may come across like that half the time but in real life they are completely different. The struggle with youtube is trying to think of new and original content and those with a lot of views and subscribers manage it very well. That is what separates the limited with the clever.

There is a very small market in each youtube category to actually make a living through it. The majority of youtubers who have a lot of subscribers also have separate businesses and sponsorships which bring in more money, these businesses bring in the majority of their income, the videos on youtube are usually there to keep their name/brand recognised and advertised.

I agree with you that there are youtubers with limited experience who won’t go far but there are those who are doing a lot of work behind the scenes and are very clever what they upload.

Silliness. They're all dickheads because you don't particularly like what they do?

So strange how offended some get by YouTubers.
