I expect a reaction. If the players have any self esteem they will need to make a statement out of this. If they cannot provide a reaction against Brighton at home after the shit-show they put us through on Tuesday, they should really consider their future in this club.

And all of you who doesn't give a feck, what's wrong with you lot? The FA Cup is a major trophy, the fact that Arsenal won it too many times over the last five years doesn't diminish the value of the cup ffs.

Right thats it I am over the CL defeat.
This is a MUST win again, but I dont expect any problems in doing that, any combination of 1st team we put out should be good enough.
My problem is the weather , snow is forecast for most of Saturday afternoon, I dont expect the game to be in doubt , but heavy snow is expected about 8pm.

Need a win here, IMO we will beat Brighton but I said the same thing about Seville so who knows.

Is probably what I'd like to see.

It's genuinely sad that folk don't give a toss about the cup anymore.

We've had a huge history in the FA Cup and cup runs and wins have produced some of our finest moments.

Love the cup. I'd love to win it again

All in, it’s our only chance of a trophy this season. Rather win the FA Cup and finish 4th, than finishing 2nd and not winning the FA Cup - obviously.

    No excuse, full throttle.

Get Pogba back in, he's our most talented midfielder and dropping him hasn't worked.

Me too, and I cannot wait for tomorrow to hopefully put a little more distance to the Sevilla match. Nobody wants to pay for the expense of two Wembley tickets and two return trips to London to see us lose in the final though. I prefer the League Cup now for this reason. The semi finals should be elsewhere.

I forgot to say with my team line up, most importantly, Romelu should be given the armband. O Captain! My Captain!

Me to. FA Cup day was the most important football day in the calender in the 70's and 80' growing up supporting United. Even if United wasn't involved it was still exciting. I've never quite lost that feeling regardless of what has happened to its significance over the last 20 add years. I still get the same excitement and pride winning that cup.

Chris Hughton may be a pragmatist style-wise, but I’d be surprised if he’s thinking feck the Cup - avoiding relegation’s all that matters. I’ve admired him ever since he took over a just relegated Birmingham who were in the Europa thanks to beating Arsenal in the League Cup. They were in a horrible group with loads of long trips but really gave it a go.

Agreed. Hughton'll go for it, and though he'll be wary of a reaction he'll have been hearted by that debacle on Tuesday. He may not have N'Zonzi and Banega but he's got a few decent centre mids in Propper, Kayal and Stephens who he can combine into an effective unit.

If we're so keen on losing the ball fecking continually in midfield and the edge of their D we'll be in bother, as their mids can both win and move the ball. Dare I say it I hope McTominay is back in for us as if he brings his Liverpool form he could give us the ballast we sorely lacked on Tuesday.

Time to bounce back and blow them off the field. Last chance for any form of glory.

McTominay yes I agree, dont see why he was dropped in the first place, I also agree about Sanchez but we all know he will start, Jose is not going to drop him, well I will be shocked if he does.

How will dropping Sanchez help him improve playing in this team? Has dropping Pogba worked? Can you play yourself into form watching on the bench? What's left of this season is all about preparing for next season.....dropping our best players means we won't be winning anything next season either.

All players react differently, Pogba is like a 4 year old and can't handle anything going against him, sulking and throwin tantrums and doesn't have a professional bone in his body, it doesn't mean Sanchez would react the same if he's benched.

Couldn’t agree more. Loved our last cup win too, those late winners at Wembley vs Everton / Palace were amazing. The Everton one in particular is one of my highlights of the recent years, limbs everywhere when that went in

It's natural that when you're gunning for the league and CL the FA Cup becomes a bit of a poor relation but I agree I've always liked it and have seen it as something to shout about.

Now we're in neither of the two main races we should really gun for this cup.

They both deserve dropping for few games not just this actually. When you are the main stars of the team and perform like that then bench is your place till you sort yourself out.

Imagine listening to the radio commentator on the final chance that Brighton had against us in the dying seconds of the first game of the 1983 final

"Can he beat Moran - yes he can. Can he beat McQueen - yes he can. And he's got xxxxx on his right. He shoots and crackle, crackle....."

Didn't really show much of that (in our next match) after getting beat by City earlier in the season.

Doubt we'll lose but I'd expect a pretty unremarkable performance.

    I'm expecting the same.
It's like whether we lose or win a game, it has no influence over the way we play the next match.

People do care about this Cup (it is a trophy, after all). The problem we have is a lot of young supporters who have thrown the toys out of their pram and are sulking.
When the match starts I guarantee you that the match-day thread will be as busy as any other match.

Let's win this cup. Arsenal overtook us for wins last season so I want the record back.

Agreed, Sanchez seems undroppable for some reason. Maybe Jose and his stubbornness or because he was a marquee signing.

Need us to score 4 goals and look fired up. None of this dicking about like drunks in the first half. If they have a shred of respect for the badge after the Sevilla debacle, they will turn up.

And that goes for Jose too.

He stuck with Mkhitaryan for far too long earlier in the season as well, guess he's just prepared to keep playing out of form players in the hope they'll play their way back into form

We'll scrape a win here but won't win the Cup.
Spurs are my pick. In a one-off game in the final, I'd pick them to tear us apart again as we'd set up for a 1-0 win and would capitulate early again.

Chelsea, I'd probably favour us over.

Unless you're Martial or Shaw and then you get dropped instantly.

    4-4-2. Ditch this 4-2-3-1 nonsense.

    —Rashford—-Lukaku—
    Martial-Pogba-Matic-Sanchez
    Shaw—Rojo—Bailey—Valencia

Honestly believe we will win this with ease, scoring 4 or 5 goals.
