Nah impossible for Liverpool to not score at least one in the return leg. City can win but they need to score 4 goals and not concede at the same time, impossible. They'll attack and leave too many spaces open as the game goes on.

They’re more succesful in Europe now than we’ve been and still would be. I can also still respect Liverpool for being a historically great club, but resent any success this blood money funded, council house dwelling, ploy for Western legitimacy has.

Cretin's a bit strong but I agree with the sentiment mate. City would just be a triumph for financial doping. Liverpool winning the CL again would genuinely sting.

It's all too easy to watch Klopp turn over Guardiola and say 'let's all play like Liverpool' - but in reality, only Tottenham in this league that can match such an approach. But what every team can do, irrespective of ability or personnel is to not suffer a crisis of confidence when playing City.
All of Pep's teams have had the same frailty - vulnerable when ran at, unnerved when harried. Respect them and they'll kill you.
We're as guilty as anyone else in this division for making Pep's job easier.
Easy now. Istanbul was a once in a lifetime. This Liverpool team can't go all the way. Hell,even we beat them. Just enjoy this result now knowing Peps having a problem going to sleep tonight. Next year is a different story though. Mourinho needs to upgrade our team with top notch players. No place for second standard players....we need world class players.
This is so true - Van Dijk can be so nonchalant on the ball, passing it into dangerous areas and only just getting away with it, really does my head in. I'm all for playing out from the back but there's nothing wrong with hoofing it down the field if your strikers are that fast and the oppposition are toothless on the night.
I fear City will get a boost if they become champions this weekend, so hopefully United stand their ground.
Klopps direct approach really is an issue for Guardiola's more patient build up approach. They attack much better than City in that type of game and in fairness, it's something that is true against almost all other teams in the world. They are really good at breaking after receiving possession in midfield from mistakes, they don't faff about with it, just go at it. Where's that poster that claimed that if Jesus played instead of Aguero at Anfield earlier on in the season then they'd have won? looked far from it today.
Ferdinand was like that when he started as well. But better that than treat the ball like a hand grenade and spread fear through the rest of the defence.
City were poor and Liverpool outplayed them in the first half. But three big decisions went in Liverpool favour: Salah was slightly offside for the 1st goal, similarly Sane was slightly offside for Jesus's goal but it was called and Sterling could have a pen. Liverpool were quite lucky to win tihs game 3:0.

Pretty sure Klopp's encouraging him to play slightly riskier passes. He did the same to Hummels, for instance. There is only one technical center mid (Keita next season) and a solid defensive mid missing to pretty much create a carbon copy of his Dortmund side.
Are you a City fan? If so you are seriously deluded. They could have lost by five in the first half, had maybe one shot on goal. Scouse were first to every fifty fifty ball, City gave it away like there was no tomorrow. That Salah offside was razor thin, but saying Pool were lucky is too ludicrous to contemplate. Totally dominated and totally deserved the win. 3 - 0 was about right.
with challenges you would have to tell the linesman to let every close situation go because you can´t challenge once a play is blown dead.

Same with that Sane offside. The first goal changed the game. And a goal for City would have completely changed the tie too. Don't know about Sterling's call. Fact is 3 huge decisions went for Liverpool. They were much better than City after the 2nd goal till the end of the 1st half. That is, they totally dominated for about 20-30 minutes, not the whole game. Ludicrous is to suggest otherwise.

City were utterly dreadful, a shadow of themselves. No discredit to Liverpool, because they played really well but City couldn't make a 10 yard pass even when they weren't being pressed and even De Bruyne was guilty of that. Absolutely no way they'll be that bad this Saturday, even if they half turn up they'll be in with a chance.
If I was a City fan I would be asking why did they not turn up? Go through the team. Who played well? Why did they give the ball away so much? Did they deserve anything more than to lose by three? Sure decisions come and go, but you have to accept it and come back. Would you agree with me that City never looked like doing anything in this tie. Sure they were a bit better in the second half but Pool at that point were reserving energy and trying to close out the game. There was no tactical spark from City. There was no energy. There was no standout performance. The defence repeatedly looked all over the place. Forget bad luck and start to talk about bad play.
I think Silva was the only one that showed his quality for City, everyone else was shocking.

Again, they were poor but 3 big decisions went against them. Liverpool weren't winning those second balls prior to the first goal, the latter changed the dynamics of the game. City were very lucky to beat them 5:0 in September, now Liverpool were lucky to win 3:0 because of these 3 decisions.
He was still well below his normal levels. A huge principle of city's game revolves around their ability to keep hold of possession and Silva is usually absolutely brilliant at that but he lost it on quite a few occasions tonight.

With the exception of Kane I'd say it's a huge possibility that the majority of the others may be on the fringes of the England squad in 3 years time if our U18/U19s develop to be anywhere near as good as we expect them to.
This is it. If you destabilize them you get them out of their comfort zone which can lead to more mistakes and more opportunities. Then they start messing up simple passes and players start misunderstanding each other. It's like a chain reaction. You can't get to that stage unless you put them under pressure from the beginning and you don't allow them to get a foothold in the game.
