CL/EL Semi Finals Draw | Pool to face Bayern/Real in final

Haven't half the caf been wanting Nainggolan to come to Utd? So he is good enough for United but not good enough to match Liverpool?

Aren't Strootman and Manolas also muppet signings?
Strootman isn't that good tbh. Decent, nothing else. Wijnaldum and Davy Pröpper (Brighton) are keeping him on the bench.

Though in 2014 Bruno Martins Indi kept Virgil van Dijk on the bench so I guess it's not saying that much.

Very nice draw for Marseille. They weren't playing seriously the Groupes Stage. The final in Lyon can be a motivation for "Les Fadas".
Salzburg is a nice team but I think they will explode in the Velodrome who is one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world. Amazing atmosphere yesterday.

Griezmann is a Marseille's fan, a final versus Marseille in his native town would be nice. :)

Bayern - Real for the billionth time, fecking tedious.

Liverpool in the final. Unbelievable.

I don't understand why you guys are giving us a bye straight into the final. Roma is not going to be an easy tie. All this talk of us being fearless, Roma is the same. They have just the same chance to beating us than we beating them.

It is very naive to think Liverpool will go past Roma easily, many posters should really grow a brain up ffs  . Both ties are pretty even to be fair, there is no way to me to agree favourites. I would like a Roma-Bayern final with a Roma win of course ;).

Wonder what Buffon would say if Roma win it.:)

The way Bayern officials, fans and German media spinned last years defeat to make it look like refs fecked you over, while you received a non existent penalty in the first game and scored offside goal to take the game to extra time in the second half was hilarious.

You also wanted a second yellow for Casemiro while Vidal got away with this after being on a yellow card.

I read somewhere that fans at Allianz were clapping every time Juventus scored. That alone tells you all you need to know about how this tie will end. Trees will burn and Bayern will go out and everyone will be blamed.

Wasnt this the same tie where Real scored 3 goals that should've been disallowed in 1 match? (just asking, memory's fuzzy)

Madrid fan speaking about refs. Oh the irony.

Wow...the dutch side is pretty bad (sorry). Wijnaldum is basically the same way you described. Decent, nothing else.

Just saw the Arsenal draw. Unfortunate :( Really wanted to save the massive AFTV blowout for the final.

Have people actually seen Liverpool's team?

They are so dependent on Salah it's crazy. They are an underdog team, if you underestimate them and leave Salah with space they'll kill you.

Roma have a fantastic target man, and a manager that will adapt his tactics to Liverpool. I would not be surprised at all if Roma park the bus and punt long balls to Dzeko and sneak out of Anfield with a draw.
That's not what they did at the Nou Camp. They were very unlucky to be trailing by 2 own goals

No need to apologize, I'm well aware we're bad :P

True, I think they even each other out. Though personally I rate Strootman slightly more than Wijnaldum. Wijnaldum's just my favourite, because he's a Feyenoord youth product and a fantastic kid to boot.

A problem for Strootman is that he's being used in the wrong way for our national team. Our coaches all seem to think that he can be an anchor in defense while at Roma he play more freely on the left and is back by 2 other strong midfielders. He's not solid enough to play the Carrick role and is prone to making mistakes there. That lead to him receiving ridiculous amounts of blame for us failing to qualify again. He apparently can't step up when it matters and is shit unless the team around him pulls his weight for him.

I hope he plays like a world beater against Liverpool though :)

Just like we want to see the reaction on RAWK:smirk:

Hey you can include me in that  Obviously I want us to win, but if not, I'll always find time to laugh at the guys n gals that take it all way too seriously.

Very good draw for Liverpool...but then conversely also a solid draw for Roma as well. I'd have Liverpool as slight favourities, but equally can't rule Roma out at all. Fancy Bayern to win the other tie.

Catastrophic draw, I hate the Champions League sometimes. Liverpool should be playing Barcelona or Juventus right about now, not measly Roma! None of those teams should even be in the Champions League, none of them are remotely close to challenging for their domestic titles - all eggs thrown into the same basket. Liverpool finished 4th last season. When they last won the Champions League, they finished 4th the year before - and they finished 5th when they won. The same will happen this year, they will finish 4th. Champions League my ass. I just have to throw a lot of money on Liverpool and take the heat off, it's the only way it will feel remotely OK. Losing that money? I'd love to.

They were always getting Roma. We knew it from the moment that third goal went in against Barca.

Measly Roma? Really?

That measly Roma side beat Barca.

They may not be favourites, but can't be ruled out.

Liverpool v Roma will be quite a balanced tie. Both sides can be happy with the draw. Playing at home second might favour Roma a bit.

I fancy Real over Bayern. Bayern are aging and don’t get tested domestically enough. Makes it harder for them to face a side of Real Madrid’s quality.

Predictable draw. It seems to me that UEFA are keen to maintain English interest in the competition because of the size of the TV contract with BT.

If English teams aren’t involved as in recent seasons, TV rating will crash and so will the value of the TV rights, So UEFA make sure they stay involved?

Feels like Real always get the advantage of having the second leg at home.

That’s some strange, strange logic. And I like it

While Liverpool are quite heavy favorites to reach the final (1.40 odds), the thread title is a bit arrogant towards Roma.

I've seen nothing of Roma this year, but Kolarov vs Salah sounds tasty.

What is their play style?

Would be a typical Arsenal story to comfortably beat Atheltico and lose the final against Marseille.

I refuse to believe Leipzig will win their fixture, every time last year, when they were on form they'd lose when I picked them in my accumulator

People sleeping on Roma like they didn't just knock out Barcelona. Liverpool have to be the most overrated team in Europe god damn.

the bookies myth needs debunking though, it is mostly anglo-american & east-asian companies feeding billion anglophile punters (not the shiniest eggs tbf), that’s why such ridicolous quotes so many times at international level

Hopefully the ref don't bail them out again with daylight offside goals.
Ramos penalty to fall back to earth and go in in the 98th minute of regulation with us needing a goal to go through or go out. Ref gives the goal, followed by UEFA retroactively decide it counts double and void the result from 2012, then Flo steps onto the pitch with a gun and two bodyguards, greek style, and declares real madrid to be the winner of the '11/12 CL

Not the shiniest eggs? Meaning?
