Love Mata(one of the nicest guys in the game), but if you're playing at home against a side that doesn't want to stand toe-to-toe with you he is a waste of space as he hasn't got the pace to make a difference, on Pogba hope i'm wrong but it's set-up for a who is out of the door first, Mourinho or Pogba, there maybe trouble ahead....

Which would you prefer, a years supply of nivea, or a Yanmar tractor ?
As a female, definitely the Nivea.

Remember these
Neville , Pallister , Bruce , Rio , Vidic , Evra Keane , Scholes , Giggs , Robson , beckham , , kanchelskis , van nistelrooy , cantona
Now name me one current single player better than any of them in there favoured positions .
I can't name one , the club has a diabolical squad full of journeymen , players past there best and others that have just been a major let down

Frustrating as the performance v City showed what United were capable of with the shackles off. One defensive midfielder would have been more than enough against a game side like WBA. Herrera should have gotten a penalty plus Lukaku denied by a brilliant Foster save.

Mata should have been the first one off.
If he has a problem with Pogba then I worry he will sell him and it might impact on who we can buy. I would imagine there are more players clamouring to play for Pep and Klopp as they play good football. As has been mentioned by @SqueakyWeasel I am not sure how many players there out there now who understand what it means to play for this great club. They have different motivations now. Maybe some are desperate to be in a Nivea advert.
Those scouters do have dreamy skin though DT

Agree about the quality. Back then though you had to be successful to get the rewards. Nowadays, you just need to have a certain look and sponsors fall over themselves to fling money at you. You always need so many journeymen/watercarrier types, but the players we have spent the most money on are not producing the performances their fees merit. Is that them or the manager?

As long as the DOF that we hire to help him decides to give him. As a fan I'm okay if it takes time as long as there are promising signs of improvement. With our last three hires it's always one step forward and two steps backwards.
I just feel many of the fans who are calling for Jose's head will be the most impatient if things don't work out with a new manager or seem like it. Or if it will take too much time to bring first silverware to OT.
That's the difference with Spurs for instance, United expects titles and longer it goes without it quicker we'll no longer be a top club. I'm not saying Spurs' fans dont expect titles but they're used to waiting. :)

He subbed him cause he was on a yellow. Not everything about Mourniho is about a conflict or has a different meaning.
I know what you are getting at, but you can't take everyone off on a yellow. I presume it was more if he got another, but would he have missed the Bournemouth game or would it be the SF?

I will stick with Jose, but he has to change how we play. I cannot sit through another season of woeful football. I want to be excited watching us play and be proud how they play.

I'm completely with you on this.
Things need to change. Massive summer for the club and Jose himself.

Don't know. Pogba was frustrating despite the yellow, but I felt Jose didn't have an idea what to do, subs weren't good, it was just throw all the attackers out there and hope we'll score. Saying all that we shouldn't make a story out of Pogba being subbed.

Bournemouth

But the way he got the yellow was symptomatic of his performance today. Far too casual almost treating it like a testimonial

With those quotes the offseason/time after our inevitable loss against Spurs in the FA Cup is going to be interesting. Jose has already broken bridges with a lot of players it seems. Either the board supports him and replaces half the squad or simply moves on from him. I know we just extended him but it we look bad in the FA Cup and limp into 3rd/4th place I could see it happening.

I know I rather Pogba and Martial stay then Jose. They are the future of United...Jose is not.

Think the press might.

What does that have to do with losing against the last placed team ..at home?!
Look at our squad on paper and look at West Broms, our front three were Sanchez-Lukaku-Mata. That is a front 3 that should be able to compete at the highest levels.
I used to think the issue are mostly with the players but I dont think so anymore.

We need to score. I don't understand why Jose doesn't sub Lukaku. It was the same last year with Ibra. Why can't Jose try Rashford upfront?

They were the moment he came off.

We/he keep(s) giving them reasons for these stories. Jose blaming players every poor performance
Think Jose has to be careful. I do think the players thought it would be a walk in the park and he hinted that attitude was there all week. Then it is up to him to put them straight, not notice it and do nothing about it. Unless he tried and they didn't listen. Goodness knows.

Shit result but it means little in the big scheme of things. We have a lot of work to do this off season though.

This is what happens when you buy a team full of "superstars". Can't wait for season to end. Hopefully World Cup lifts the spirits from what top-level club football has become.

West Brom will sit back with 10 men behind the ball we know this. And yet we choose to play a 3 man midfield, Mata and Sanchez who provide zero width and Valencia who is more afraid of crosses than Dracula. Great team selection.
The formation was fair enough. We finally got the best out of pogba last week in a three-man midfield. It was logical to do the same again.

Glad I missed the game, life is simply too short to be wasting time watching Maureens rubbish.

Missed the second half.....just saw the score....all I can do is laugh.....this team are so fecking soft.....Mourinho can feck off.....half the players can feck off.....if Mourinho comes good next season with his second warchest and we there at the end of it fighting for the title I'll gladly eat crow. But I don't see much changing.

We really need a captain in the Robson, Keane mould. A captain who can drive the team and lead by example. Valencia is not in any way shape or form a captain. Nothing wrong in submarine capital in the world @Class of 63

Nothing at all mate, just with yourself, @DomesticTadpole and AN Other posting, considering the size of the place, and there are fans from all over the World commenting at the same time it's one hell of a representation.

Today was a PERFECT game to start Rashford and Martial and say to them “go show me WHY you deserve to start more games” which would have motivated both to perform, either Jose would have been vindicated OR they would have been so motivated they gave Jose a selection headache but as always Jose is a stubborn cnut and an unmotivated Sanchez starts AGAIN and Lukaku doesn’t get rested yet AGAIN.

I’m not even a Jose hater but today was 100% on him as he should have sent out players desperate to prove a point and up against the bottom placed club who are so far adrift and without a win they’d have been bang up for knocking up a cricket score, Jose is so lazy and stubborn in his selection that certain players know it doesn’t matter whether they perform week in week out as they’ll play each week regardless.

I’m now hoping that Lindelof never puts on our shirt ever again and that Ed and the board see that we’re never going to be anymore than a team chasing a Champions League spot under Jose, he’s become outdated in his ideas and man management and it’s a manager with fresh/modern ideas (Pocchettino, Luis Enrique, Tuchel, Allegri) and able to plan long term that’s needed.

Appalling. Absolutely appalling.

One of the worst performances i've seen for a very long time. We lost to the bottom of the league at home and, by the way, we deserved to lose. They're rock bottom of the league. They'd previous won 3 games and they beat us. Sometimes, a team at the bottom of the league can get to OT and go on a mad one. Their 'keeper has a mental game, they defend like dogs and then they get a jammy goal of somebodies backside. That does happen but today that didn't happen.

We got outplayed. We got outplayed by West Bromwich Albion. No disrespect to West Brom they're a grand club who've been around but this season they've been a shambles an absolute shambles.

Can’t remember the last time a season couldn’t end quick enough like this season. We have been really poor all season with here and there a good half of football played in between, just to lift our spirits and then to be completely disappointed and frustrated the next game.
After 2 years of this dire, boring, purposeless football, we are going to put our trust in Jose to get things right in his third year, something he couldn’t accomplish in the previous 2.
If these 2 years have taught me anything it doesn’t matter who we get in the summer(even if they costs us crazy money) the football and style of play won’t change. We could get Ronaldo and Messi and in no time both those players will look like pure mediocrity.
I really hope PSG lure him away but after watching what he has been doing with Man Utd they won’t want him either.

As much as I criticise Jose, I think this is true too. United has the resources to demand winning football AND attractive football, and ultimately the fans won't be satisfied until we have both. However, outside of Pep, there aren't really many (any?) coaches out there who are guaranteed to bring both, and if Pep remains at City for a while, we could well be looking at a few more barren years. Better football would buy the manager more time, but eventually the knives would be out again.

Well i disagree 3 midfielders against WBA is excessive, Mourinho seems to agree seeing as he went back to 4231 in the 2nd half. But more than the 3 in midfield Sanchez and Mata are not great as your ''wingers'' in these games. They give you very little width.

Agree with most of what you say, but harsh on Lindelof, yeah he got caught under the ball for the winning goal, but....
