Will the likes of Drogba, Lampard and Terry be fine coaching United against the club they're considered legends for ? Can't see it.

Out of all the players mentioned, Terry is the only one that really makes sense.

It depends on the players. Some have no problem in doing it but others not so. I don't think Giggs or Scholes will accept it. Others maybe.
Patrick Vieira and Mikel Arteta went to coach at City, although I appreciate the latter doesn't really qualify as a club legend.
What would someone like Terry, Lampard, Drogba add? Get in an experienced coach who can contribute offensively and tactically, sort of like SAF did with Queiroz.
Terry said just a few days ago that he was planning on staying with Aston Villa if they win their promotion game. So it won't be him.

They'd be stupid to say no if they have any managerial aspirations. To work with one of the best coaches in the world at one of the biggest clubs in the world is great experience for them. They are professionals at the end of the day and we've seen the likes of Vieira go and coach at City for example. I also don't think the rivalry between us and Chelsea is big enough for them to say no. I certainly wouldn't hold it against Giggs or Scholes for example if they get a job at say Tottenham or Chelsea for example.

I don't think it's Terry. He says he wants to continue playing and if Villa get promoted itl be there. Otherwise I'm guessing he will go for another pay rise somewhere abroad. Lampard maybe.

Thanks for the reply. I thought I’d missed something whereby he said it’s a former player. I can’t imagine it’s someone who hasn’t coached already. He’s already taking on Carrick, he doesn’t want another novice. Also, he’s mentioned someone to help him with tactics, I’m guessing this is tactics to help us be more fluid in our attacks. Hence why I think we will be getting someone who has already coached with Jose before.
The hope is that it's someone to challenge or at least progress his current tactics, not just an ally to rub his tummy when everyone's telling him he's the anti-Pep.

In all honesty, I do hope it is a more offensive minded coach, along with Carrick. I think we’d all love it if the prevailing narrative that Jose is anti-football was proved wrong, and we could match strong defensive performances with the ability to ability to shut down a match and also decisively open up a match and attack. That was SAF in his prime.
