A midfield of Henderson, Milner and Chamberlain has already overcome a midfield of Fernandinho, Silva and De Bruyne.

Stranger things have happened.

Can you really call it overcoming if you bypass the midfield altogether and just use them as tacklers?

I don't know which would be better at this point. Liverpool losing tonight or us winning the champions league :wenger:

The answer's obvious, us winning the champions league is a far better feeling but it's weird how much I don't want Livershite to win tonight.

What does it matter how we did it? Those were the midfielders paying and ours came out on top.

Don't think I'll watch this one. Hours of pre-game scouse wankfest on Noggie TV, combined with the horrible possibility that it'll continue late into the night, is a good reason to do something else, just checking the score now and then.

Well you are talking about the midfield not the team right? Liverpool were the better team and they did it through not taking City on directly in midfield. It's good tactics.

Same. Not watching but will check in on this forum.

You mean you're not going to watch all the close ups of the pained Dipper faces as they're getting hammered by Madrid. Man, I hope they get tonked!

Well yeah, and I’d hope that we’re not daft enough to try and take on Madrid’s midfield three later either.

Play to your strengths, not your opponents.

Its good management by Klopp, and he knows himself that midfield needs to improve (Keita and possibly Fekir).

Milner, Henderson Wijnauldum vs. Casemiro, Kroos, Modrić

Is this expected midfields today?

Yeah. I’ve seen some suggestions that Bale, Isco and Ronaldo will be their front three.

What about the Manchester United & Barca fans?
They are still alive?

I'll take a 4-0 with 3 liverpool players sent off inside the first 10 minutes, thank you very much

May the best team win tonight! And Ronaldo to score an hatrrick...

A Madrid ITK just said that will play the BBC.Let's see if Isco or Casemiro...
Now time for siesta,to relax and dream with a red card

If it ends up that way, then I'll soak in every minute of the post-match tears. And the countless GIFs that would no doubt enrich our lives. But 2005 was awful. Not going to watch anything like that again.

Just stick them on ignore if you don't want to see the thoughts of oppo fans.

It's not that i, and many others here, don't want to see the thoughts of opposing fans but i'd rather converse with United supporters.

I really worry about Marcelo tonight. He's clearly not going to deviate from his normal game (i.e, plow forward at every opportunity) and that could be the defining factor tonight. Obviously he's not bloody stupid and he knows the threat that Salah possesses, but i just don't think it's in him to be a little more disciplined in his defensive duties.

Seems weird to leave Bale out when he’s in form?

But it doesn't seem illogical to use Isco to control midfield when Liverpool are at their best during the first 30 minutes of the game, and use Bale in the last 30 minutes vs tired legs.

The thing is, both guys are brilliant at what they do, it's not an easy task for Zidane to choose the starting eleven.

Between them they've got lots of hair!

It's modern football though. Roberto Carlos has three Champions Leagues, and Marcelo has also three. If the formula didn't work Zidane wouldn't insist on it.

Yeah that’s a good point. Bale could cause Alexander-Arnold all sorts of problems.
