Whilst Fabinho has seemed to look the part there's a reason why Brazil have included Fred in their squad (after a two year ban) and left Fabinho at home. Chances are Fred is a better player.
Why are you even trying? Every transfer window players going to rivals are 'perfect' while the players we sign are flawed.
Do you honestly think they've watched Fred enough to actually scout the player? Going by what they've said about Fred (basically that he is a nothing player that will do nothing for the team) the obvious answer is no.

If we sign superstars that's the wrong approach and if we sign players who aren't superstars that's the wrong approach. I personally trust Mourinho's recruitment and in this day and age it was obviously going to take a few windows to get the team he really wanted. From what people who've extensively watched Fred are saying it sounds like a good addition indeed and a few more at that level in other areas is moving us in the right direction.

The genius of LVG killed any optimism we could have had for that team. Firstly by signing a player that didn't even want to be there, then playing him in 3 different positions.
And perhaps Paulinho, who'll probably be in the starting lineup next to Casemiro, is better than both of them. Am i doing this right? Something tells me that it doesn't really work that way.
I didn't make my post with the intention of turning it into a pissing contest between Fred and Fabinho. Neither i believe that Klopp is the best thing since sliced bread like some of the Liverpool residents on here want to believe. There's a reason why his sides implode at some point in the second half of their season and there's also a reason why he loses his finals always in the second half. Oh, and i can assure you that i'm not one of those United fans on the Caf who are desperately trying to overstate the good aspects of Klopp's/Guardiola's football philosophy so they can rub it in Mourinho's face because they don't like the latter.
Back to point i was trying to make. Klopp didn't arrive yesterday in the managerial world, we know how he likes to set his teams to play football. During his time at Liverpool in the PL, which demands high energy levels in almost every game, and because his style of play leaves plenty of gaps for the opposition to exploit, we've also seen him sporadically trying to implement (emphasis on trying) a more positional game with his team behind the ball and hitting on the counter. Sometimes it works and some others it doesn't. At its best, it looks like what we saw in the QF tie against City. Even in the final, if you take away the Bale's magnificent effort, they didn't allow RM many dangerous touches in their box and they didn't allow Kroos/Modric any spaces in between the lines to exploit.
Like him or not, he's building towards something and he's adding things to his side. From what i hear Can will be leaving in the summer (Juventus?). Now, he's not the best player on the ball but he's very important in Klopp's pressing tactics. As things start, he's signed Keita and Fabinho. No matter how you look at it, he added more depth in his midfield for high pressing tactics and he also signed a player (Fabinho) who, by either replacing or playing next to Henderson, can offer better discipline and skills in their counter-attacking game.
On the other hand, we seem to be building a midfield with both Matic and Pogba in it. If you think that Fred will be enough to be the missing link between these two, fine by me. I trust Mourinho too but this is a forum for discussion. Pogba's made a name for himself at Juventus when he was allowed to play further up the pitch. In order to achieve this, Juventus had Pirlo/Vidal/Marchisio playing behind him. We seem to want to give him a similar role (advanced and to the left of the pitch) but with a midfield of Matic/Fred supporting the attacking players. Allow me to have my doubts.
But just for the record, i hope i'm wrong about both Liverpool and United.
Exactly, if you swapped the two, people would just swap their names and post the same thing. you just have to let it go. if Fred went to City, the consensus in here would have been that he's a worldy, look at how Pep doesn't care about height, that he buy players that function in his style of play and so on ....

In terms of ability Fred is widely regarded as the brighter prospect, as evidenced by his selection in the Brazil world cup squad and Fabinho's glaring omission. Looks to me like we got the better player.

Trading in our manager, who happens to guarantee trophies, for a manager who doesn't win trophies, is ridiculous.
And when you add that he is the manager of LFC club - one of our rivals (historically) - it shows how ludicrous this way of thinking is.
Here's an idea - try backing our own team/manager/players, instead of Liverpool's.

It's almost as if SAF were playing football manager, on the easiest settings, allowing him to win a disproportionate amount of games/trophies.
To even suggest that Klopp would in any way be a worthy successor is madness.
The 'favourites' theory has got to be one of the strangest ones out there. Have they never watched football in their life to know that cup competitions are set-up for upsets.
It's like they are living in opposite land. Favouarites are relevant for league competitions because over the long term your quality and squad investment shows.
Chelsea were not favourites in the FA cup final, Arsenal were not favourites in last seasons FA cup final. For some reason people are trying to paint that Klopp was managing a league 1 side when he lost those cup finals.

I hardly say Fred being in the WC squad and Fabinho not is a good barometer of who the better player is. Fred obviously needs to prove himself in a better league before a proper discussion can be had, both have shown themselves to be reliable performers and acquitted well to the CL, both are at a good age to join the PL and time will tell who the better player is (if a judgement can be made depending on their positions they play). I'm unsure whether United were ever in for Fabinho as he would have been competing with Matic, something we don't really need whereas as Fred seems more dynamic and can play on the right side of the midfield to compete with Herrera.

Yeah, he's a grade A bellend. Even Guardiola is honest about needing to spend to get top players. Klopp loves to talk shit to make himself look good.

Being a Klopp fan I would have defended him with the argument that they received a lot of funds through the Coutinho sale, but he does say he will do things differently even if he had the funds. So that is indeed hypocritical of him.

Hahaha I'm a fan of Germany first so I loved Klopp at Dortmund (don't care who wins in the BL as long as they play entertaining football with a blend of young German players). I hated that he joined Liverpool (especially when he could've joined United) but can't hide my admiration for him still though.
That Coutinho sale is really polluting their fans minds into thinking he's still working with peanuts. He didn't even sign Coutinho so it's not like he unearthed a gem and made him into this billion pound player.
